I recently bought a maxtor 500 gb external hdd and i just cant get it to work with windows 7, i got a computer at home where i want to keep it that has windows 7 rc , I have tryed everything i can think of to make it work but nothing does, I cant see it in my computer or with the explorer, but I can see it with computer management, It doesn´t have a drive letter or NTFS and I just cant do anything to it, I cant format it then I get the error "An unexpected error has occured. check the system event log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer".Nothing works, I cant put a drive letter to it then i get the error "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management console then restart Disk Management or restart the computer."Now im getting pretty annoyed with trying different things on it but can´t seem to make it work, now on the other hand it does work on my laptop computer wich has Windows vista, and it works fine, also works on another computer I have that has Windows XP, can anyone please help me with this problem I would prefer to not have to format it since I did put alot of data on it from my other computers but if I have to then so be it .

Upgraded from Vista 64 to Win7 64 and the Creative audio console stopped working. I get a message saying that a compatible device is not detected.
Installed the latest Realtek HD audio drivers, and the problem still persists.
Any ideas?

The message pops up every time after about 30 seconds from starting Outlook. I've made another outlook account under a different windows profile and it works just fine..so not sure what the problem is. I've tried to make a new acct on the original profile, but still doesnt work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is on one of my computers running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. It's only started happening recently (past 2 days), whenever I try to open Mozilla Firefox I get "Microsoft(C) Register Server has stopped working". The details show
that the event name is "BEX",
app name is "regsvr32.exe",
module name is "msvcr100.dll",
exception offset is "8a3f6",
exception code is c0000417.
I've tried turning off DEP for regsvr32.exe but still no change. Internet Explorer doesn't work either, when I try to open it nothing happens.
I can go into safe mode with internet and it works. But when I go into Windows 7 the normal way I get this "Microsoft Windows applications has stopped working" Sounds like a software issue but not sure how to fix. It appears all drivers are installed in Devce Manager.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had this error pop up twice about 7months ago then it went away on its own, and has just now came back and with a vengeance and I cant seem to find anything about fixing it. It tends to happen whenever I open anything on my computer, like if I goto control panel or etc., it will like freeze up for 10 seconds then start working. Here's a pic of the error logs that the problem report page gives me. And all the errors even those dating back to 7 months ago are all exactly the same. In recent months, when I close down the outlook, a Microsoft pops up states 'Microsoft word has stopped working'. If the pop up isn't closed, for some reason Microsoft word opens up, and when I do need to open Microsoft word, this freezes and takes ages to open up, also on closing, it freezes again, and it is stated in start task manager 'as not responding.

It seems to me that XP's recovery console is somewhat better than the one that comes with Vista or 7, unless someone can point me in the right direction for finding further documentation on this topic.
The main difference is the lack of ability to tinker with services (LISTSVC / ENABLE / DISABLE commands). A missed opportunity is the lack of registry tweaking, considering that REGEDIT can be run, but I think it only allows you to look at the registry for the recovery console rather than the main Windows installation, which doesn't help much (though I haven't tried to import/mount the registry file from the main Windows installation).
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium and I noticed the following: Several Microsoft services have been stopped. Should I get these running? If so how do I do that? Is "logmeinrescue" a bad program? Also can the following events be solved? A lot are from "Bonjour Service". Should I be worried about these?

For nearly half of the .exe files I attempt to open, I get this stupid "---.exe has stopped working" (where --- represents the name of the file). The files I'm trying to open are not video game files, but rather program files.I am currently working on a 64-bit system. I have only had this machine for 2.5 weeks.

This morning I found six extra windows open, which looked like this: [code] which looks like six randomly generated letters for the application name. So, for example, in Outlook where I can normally click a link within an email to go to the web page, I now can't (affecting all emails).
