New Battery Stops Charging At 45%
Jan 10, 2013I have just purchased a new battery for my Fujitsu Amilo pi 3660 notebook.
I have tried so many times to charge it. I have fuilly discharged it and recharged it. I have installed and reinstalled drivers. No matter what I do, it stops charging at exactly 45%.
I know the battery is sound and the problem is a software issue. Does anyone know how to change this cap on the battery. BTW The new battery has slightly, (very) more capacity. This has not been a problem in other laptops, but this Fujitsu certainly caps the charge at 45%

Nov 6, 2009I have had problems once or twice with my battery, but not for a long time. I installed Windows 7 a couple of days ago and twice today my battery stopped charging even though it was plugged in. The first time it said it was plugged in but not charging. The second time it said nothing. Both times, I rebooted and it resumed charging.

Jan 29, 2013For the better chunk of the past 4 years, every time any device (be it Laptop, Desktop, iPad, or even Smartphone) on my family's network was booted up and attempted to connect to the internet, the internet would crash across the entire network. It could take anywhere from 2-20 minutes for the internet to return.
However, this is not the case if only one device is in use. For instance, if I am using my laptop while my dad is off of his desktop, there will not be any trouble in my receiving a connection on boot up. If my dad is on his desktop and I try to boot up my laptop, though, the internet will crash for a good while, preventing either of us from using it.

Jun 16, 2011Hope someone can help me figure this issue out. Recently began having issues with my Globetrotter USB Mobile Internet device from ATT. ATT has been eliminated as the issue, and I am now pretty sure it is a Windows 7 issue.The device works for a while and then suddenly stops, and then I get a code that says it can perform better in a different port, or it says that USB device is not recognized, or I get the Code 43, Windows has disabled the device.I "tricked" it by trying to use a different flash drive device and it worked, I was then able to activate the Globetrotter and it worked for a little while, then stopped again.

Nov 15, 2009I always choose the "No Sound" option in windows control / sounds panel.
But when I unplugg some USB devices (like a bluetooth controller card which I use to communicate to my cellphone) I get a system sound which is incredibly large, makes me jump every time .. hehehe .. I cannot find any sound settings in the PC suite program (sony-ericsson) program .. and like I said above . I have made sure the NO SOUND option is chosen.
Anybody know how to stop that unmounting sound ?
It's probably right there before my eyes somewhere but cannot find it .... and since I have my computer connected to a external sound system with large speakers (use it for writing music and recording) .. that sound scares the .... out of me each time..
Screen Dims When Unplug Netbook
Aug 4, 2011I have a gateway netbook. Normally when it is plugged in and I unplug it the screen dims. Yesterday it stopped doing that. Now when I unplug it stays at the same brightness. Just to clarify, it seems as though whether it is plugged in or not, the brightness is like it used to be when I unplugged it (it is dimmed either way). It's not that important because the thing stays plugged in most of the time, but I am curious as to how this could happen. I just reinstalled Windows on it a few days ago. It is 32-bit ultimate, if that matters.

Peformence is nice and fast but for some reason Windows just freezes (1-2 times a day or so) because no SSD is present. I am able to open my computer before total freeze and no SSD is present! Then I just unplug the SSD SATA cable and plug it back in a voila! PC unfrozes and SSD is present. What seems to be the problem? The only issue I have right now is that I constantly get a pop-up from Realtek HDAM saying "You just unplugged a device" then immediately "You just plugged in a device".I disabled the popups but they still show up. That's not really the problem, I can live with that. It's the annoying cut out of audio every 20 seconds followed by the audio being a lot quieter. Originally I installed the drivers from the motherboard CD (Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3). Frankly those worked better but I still had the issue, I updated the drivers to a newer version, but now I keep getting this problem more often.

Jan 29, 2013I'm running Outlook 2010 with about 5 separate POP 3 accounts. I archive regularly and compact after archiving. After a lot of trouble cloning a new C drive to an SSD, Outlook, along with a lot of other software, began acting strangely. Everything has pretty much been resolved except for the Outlook problem.
For no reason I can isolate, Outlook will suddenly close, giving the message that it had to close and it will now try to retrieve my data. It does so, unless I was in the middle of composing an email - that will be gone! Sometimes, instead of closing, it freezes and says application not responding.
I checked the disk for errors using scan now and it's fine. I've run memtest and it's fine. I've run in safe mode and it just shut down with no comments. In working my way through suggestions on this board, I just ran Sysinternals Process Explorer until the error occurred and went back to normal. In looking at Process Explorer, I'm afraid the actual data is overwhelming to me. However, I'll attach everything I have.

Battery Won't Charge To 100%?
Jul 8, 2012I have an acer laptop and it has been working great for the past year but now my battery won't charge to 100%. This only happened recently and my laptop is plugged in for awhile but it'll only read to 80%, 2 weeks later; 53% and now its only 28%. The thing is.. my laptop IS charged. when i unplug it, I get my usually lifespan of the battery before i have to plug it in again to recharge and it only charges to x% again. I've tried "draining" my battery and letting it charge again but it won't charge to 100%. Is there anything I can do to make my laptop read my battery correctly again.
*I should add its an Acer Aspire with a 6-cell Li-ion battery and this is the only problem I've had thus far with my laptop

Oct 16, 2012No it's not old, no it wasnt used more than 6 times and i dont keep it in the laptop all the time. I always leave the batter out of the laptop when it isnt being used. When it is out of the laptop it is fully charged. But as of recently it's been telling me that it only charges to 97%, the laptop is only 2 months old.

So most of the time I have to keep the charger connected. To be honest, I don't find it safe to connect the charger all the time as the battery may get further damaged due to over-charging.
My question is that is there any software which would stop my charger from charging the battery till say around 30% and when the battery drains to 30%, the charging resumes automatically. When completed (reaches 100%), it stops charging again (but the charger is still connected) and then waits for the battery to drain to 30% and restarts the process.
Asus Laptop Battery Won't Charge
May 22, 2011We have an ASUS K52Jr purchased in April last year. At the start of this year the hard drive packed it in while I was trying to download something on ITunes and it would not start up again. We were moving and so didn't get around to taking it in for a couple of months. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago we went it in to ASUS and the hard drive was replaced under warranty (2-year warranty).The laptop is working fine now on AC power but the battery will not charge. I've tried shutting it down, taking the battery out, restarting it and putting the battery in while it's on, but no dice. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the power management driver from "Device Manager". It was saying "plugged in, charging" on the battery icon but the "power bar" on the icon would stop moving within a few seconds of putting the battery back in and the power level would stay at 0%. Yesterday it started saying "plugged in, not charging".Is this because the battery was left in the laptop while it wasn't working? Is it just coincidental that the problem started after the hard drive was replaced?

On her old laptop, (now defunct) running XP, with built-in modem, this was no problem; she simply right-clicked the taskbar and chose "disconnect".
