I have a digital SLR camera, the Sony A200 and when I connect it to the computer running Windows 7 premium I get no response from the computer.The camera should automatically appear on screen with prompts to import pictures or view them.

I have a HP Pavilion DV4-1030en. Specifications:
Intel Centrio 2 2,00GHz
4GB ram
nVidia 9200m GS
So, these are giving the main performance to my machine. I have also a nice Samsung D5000 TV (32" ) FullHD. When I connect my Laptop with a TV, computer start lag. It even doesn't use all of CPU (20-25%, while playing 720p video in TV with 10 fps (Fraps)). I've all latest drivers and everything should work. Using Windows 7.
I have an Acer Aspire laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
I regularly connect it to my TV monitor via HDMI cable and fall asleep watching movies (played on VLC or Windows Media Player). I set the computer to go to sleep after 1 hour.
Multimedia Settings are set to "Allow computer to sleep" under "When Sharing Media" in the Power Management section.
Screensaver is disabled. I have overrided my audio driver, since powercfg command suggested it may be a conflict.
If I am playing a movie without the HDMI cable plugged in, the computer goes into sleep mode right on schedule. It is only when I have the HDMI cable plugged into my TV monitor, that it refuses to enter sleep mode.

The CAT 5 Ethernet cable network cable is attached to our main Linksys WRT320N DD-WRT router ---> Motorola SB5101U DOCSIS 2.0 Cable Modem ---> Coaxial cable from wall outlet. Another computer is also directly connected to the same router via CAT 5 Ethernet cable and two more computers are wirelessly connected to the same router and none of these three PCs are experiencing issues so this should rule out the router as the culprit.if I leave the computer on (even for hours) with no network cable attached to the computer, it does not turn off. But as soon as I plug in the network cable, the PC will shut itself off within 5-15min.Based on the same scenario as described above, here are the troubleshooting attempts I made without success, except for numbers 4 and 6:
1. Switched to different network cable and router port.
2. Disabled Network Adapter connections in "Network adapter settings" for both the onboard ethernet port and wireless adapter.
3. Ran MSCONFIG.EXE and rebooted in diagnostic mode. Only basic Windows services are loaded. No startup programs are loaded.
4. Rebooted in Safe Mode with networking but could not establish any network LAN/WAN connection. Computer did not shut off!
5. Cloned entire hard disk to another hard disk and switched SATA data and power cables on the same computer.
6. Installed fresh Windows on different hard drive on the same computer. Computer did not shut off!
Out of those 6, only numbers 4 and 6 were where the computer remained on and didn't shut off at all after the network cable cable was plugged in.
I want to setup my IP Camera, and of course I need to do it via ethernet cable. So, when I put the IP address e.g. "192.168.1.102" in a browser (tried with IE9, Chrome and Firefox) , my Laptop doesn't even load or kept loading.This happens when I'm using Win 7 Home Basic, but with a Win XP laptop works great.

After that, randomly, but especially when browsing the internet, the computer freezes and I must restart it.I have to mention the fact that if I connect my pc to internet using directly the cable from my ISP ( a pppoe dial-up connection) everything works fine.

When the TV is on an AV channel I have sound coming from the TV and HiFi speakers but when I switch it to the HDMI source channel, sound only comes from the TV and not HiFi speakers.This is frustrating because I want to watch movies on my TV through my laptop and get the feel of some surround sound through the HiFi speakers but it is not working!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having some trouble with Windows 7 and an ASUS A8V-Deluxe motherboard (K8T800). Windows 7 will not recognize that a network cable has been plugged in, even though the network cable and switch port tests ok on another PC. I've also tried a number of network cables CAT5e/CAT6.
Previous OS was Windows XP and everything worked fine.
System specs:
Asus A8V-Deluxe (939)
Athlon 3500
2GB DDR400
NVidia 6600GT 256MB
250GB IDE Hard drive
LG DVD-RW (IDE)
Background: Started with a BIOS reset and a clean install and format of the hard drive every time
1. Installed Win7 x64 - Network Cable Unplugged
2. Installed Win7 x86 - Network Cable Unplugged
3. Installed Win7 x64 & added a known-to-be-working Intel Pro 100S NIC - Network Cable Unplugged on both NIC's
4. Installed Win7 x64 & added a known-to-be-working Intel Pro 100S NIC - Network Cable Unplugged on both NIC's
5. Disabled Onboard NIC and re-installed Win7 x64 - Network Cable Unplugged (Pro 100S)
6. Disabled Onboard NIC and re-installed Win7 x86 - Network Cable Unplugged (Pro 100S)
So it would appear that something else is causing the Network Cable Uplugged issue, it looks like something within Windows 7, rather than a physical problem with the NIC.
I have tried disabling IPv6, but that makes no difference.
I have tried a couple of BIOS versions, maybe if anyone out there has had any success with this MB and Windows 7 they could recommend a BIOS version?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer runs on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I downloaded the latest installation software for my Lexmark X7675 Professional inkjet printer and installed it. I chose the USB cable option and when I plug in the USB cable driver installation proceeds without problems until it says that the drivers has been installed correctly and the printer is ready for use. The printer is also available on the Printers and Drivers manager of Windows. But, to test the printer, I tried to print a page from MS-Word by clicking Ctrl + P> OK. The document is sent to the spooler where it just sits with the status "Printing". Furthermore, when I try to adjust the printer properties from Word by clicking: Ctrl + P> Properties, the window just freezes and there is no response.
Also when I click: Ctrl + P> Find Printers, in MS-Word, a fault message immediately pops up that says: "The Active Directory Domain Services is currently unavailable". I sometimes also get a Lexmark error message that says that there are communication problems.
I already spent a day installing and uninstalling the Lexmark software and drivers, as well as various other tricks offered by the Lexmark fault wizard. I found that sometimes when I reboot the computer that the document hanging in the spooler gets printed out while rebooting. However, the printer can't seem to print normally when I click print or when I try to print a test page from the printer's options box. The printer is coupled by means of Wi-Fi to the home Wi-Fi network and another computer prints faultlessly to the Lexmark with the same software and drivers but just using the Wi-Fi option. View 4 Replies View RelatedMy windows home server has decided to stop communicating with the client machines.The connector software won't connect (reinstalling makes no difference), remote desktop times out, manually shutting down (by pressing the power button) and restarting also fails to correct the problem.I can ping the server (average response time 3ms)The Home Server machine is headless and although there is a connector the only monitor I have doesn't fit the connector.I susoect that the internal battery may have gone flat and may be the servers clock is out of sync with the client machine (but even when the server is asleep its still connected to the mains).
Someone has said that I can connect a laptop to the sever via an ethernet cable but the only instructions I can find say that I have to set the IP address on both machines to be the same - Is this correct or is there another way of connecting?

My problem is that even though my HDMI cable's plugged into my Radeon graphics card, sometimes the PC only recognizes the Acer monitor and not the receiver (that's connected to the HDMI cable and my HDTV). So I end up having to plug and unplug the HDMI cable several times (sometimes 10+) before it recognizes the HDTV/receiver connection. Is there any setting that would favor the card/PC recognizing the HDMI cable more frequently? I've heard it's a handshake issue, and that maybe using a different type of cable would work. But wondering if there's a setting I could use before switching out cables.
