View 1 RepliesI recently got a 32" tv which I am using as a monitor, hooked up using hdmi. During gameplay my computer freezes for a second or less and then everything is fine. This only happens when I play games. I was wondering if its because of the tv my gpu has to push out more power b/c of the hdmi setup?My previous monitor was an hyundai 17" crt using a vga cable.I don't think it has anything to do with any particular game b/c they all ran fine before at 1280 x 960, and I now run games at either 1280 x 720 or 1360 x 768.Do I need a more powerful PSU, the one I have is a Xtech 500W with a over a years use. View 2 Replies View RelatedI've done some very basic things, such as update my drivers that needed to be updated, I've also scanned for possible RAT's and malware. Malwarebytes and DarkComet Remover did pop up malware, and they were removed. I have also done a System Restore on this laptop, and well, nothing has worked either. I have anime and media on this computer. (All were backed up just in case the bombshell dropped on this laptop.) This is a issue with drivers, and not the internal parts. I really do not want to loose any of them, or even format the laptop. This laptop works 100% fine while running in Safe Mode w/ Networking, but when I hit a video or audio, it just freezes.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to log into WoW (Initial login, when game first loads into the server) My computer just freezes with the display frozen. I can get into the game for half a second before it freezes. I usually have to manually restart. I first started noticing this issue about a week ago when I was playing and I encountered the kernel power event 41 issue. It was fine at first because it would only happen when I would play Blacklight (Free fps). As the days went on I decided to reformat my PC because the HDD I was using before crash and had a boot sector which wouldn't let me boot up anymore. I switched out that HDD eventually but this is where things get weird..
As that HDD wasn't booting up it got to the point where my computer would have power but the motherboard wouldn't load and I couldn't even get my display to work on my monitor. I did some research and I came across a solution that had me run the golden plates on each of my memory sticks against a pencil eraser to get rid of the static I suppose.. Well that turned out to work because I was finally able to get to the windows logo screen but then it would shutdown and restart during that screen.
It's the only thing I can think of because I just reformatted a new HDD completely separate from the one that had the bad boot sector.. In any case I've uploaded my zip file. You guys may notice there's no DMP file.. Well I followed the instructions on the forum post and when my computer crash and I manually restarted it, when I got back into windows and ran the SF diagnostic tool.. It was able to find everything but any DMP files. When I tried it said "No dump files found"..
This is a problem that has only been occurring over the last month or 2 (had my computer for 2/3years). Quite often I will watch something on my computer when i go to bed - either a dvd, or streaming something from a website. Sometimes i fall asleep whilst these programmes are still playing and i will wake up in the morning to find my computer and monitor still turned on, instead of doing what they should do - monitor to turn off after 20minutes, computer to sleep after 45minutes.The computer will go to sleep after the desired time if its not doing anything at all so i assume it has something to do with the media settings/files. I have a custom plans setting for power options and in advanced settings > multimedia, it IS set to 'allow the computer to sleep when sharing media, so im not sure what else to try.As an additional note, this is something ive started to notice but im not so sure how relevant it is:The odd thing is, it seems to vary when it decides it wants to sleep. I was playing things through windows media player and it wouldnt sleep after 45minutes.. so i tried playing things through vlc media player instead. That seemed to work as the computer would go to sleep, so i figured it was just the programme causing the problem, but then after a few days of using vlc the computer wouldnt sleep anymore. The same goes for streaming stuff - using megavideo the computer wouldnt sleep, but when it was streamed from videobb it would. Then after a few days of using videobb it would stop going to sleep again...
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have been having a persistent issue that i can't seem to fix. it started when i would watch a video on Internet; any video! i would start to watch a video and within a few minutes, it would start to stick and playback would slow down on the video and anything else i would be doing on my computer, and then even the audio would be filled with static (as if it were a radio station). i was always able to "x" out of Internet, but then i realized any video i watch anyway on the internet would do the same thing, (if it played long enough). sometimes i was able to play a whole video without this issue, but now, it is becoming persistent. sometimes this problem would start a minute after the video commences, other times, it would start 10 minutes later, or 30 minutes later. at this point i have not been able to watch any video file from any site on the www. have run scan after scan, and system says nothing is wrong. last night, i resorted just to listening to audio files (on wmp) and now it is acting up too! (sounds like i have 'bad reception on my music files all of a sudden). i ran the microsoft fixit program last night, and it suggests i should delete some codecs

After that if i try to turn on my computer it would freeze at random moments without letting me even get the my screen (this, what im doin now) and i need to let it "cool off" for hours before it lets me go back, no this is not a heat issue my heat is no higher than 43degrees most of time blow 40.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my asus eeepc 1001pxd running at 16 bit ( just changed it)and my internet keeps freezing up especially when I im watching video. When i check the task manager it shows that I'm using a load of cpu when I open new page I've changed my browser from chrome to mozilla and finally now to Opera which seems to work better but whenever I'm online it seems to freeze up. I've had some other little glitches too. Once in a while the keyboard just stops working and also once in a while arrow keys just start turning the screen upside down out of the blue. I've tried to figure everything out. but to no avail. It even froze up (not responding) when i started the event viewer.

I recently built my first PC three days ago...
Specs:
i7 bloomfield 960 processor
4x4 vengeance ram
crosair hx850 PSU
evga x58 ftw3 mobo
hd 6870 radeon graphics xfx
When I first installed windows it started to work just fine but I soon noticed that it would randomly freeze every 15-30 minutes of use, but not on a particular program or anything. I assumed it was drivers so I installed the latest drivers for my GPU and MOBO and keyboard. It seemed fine again until it started crashing again. I ran a GPU burn test and a CPU burn test it passed both. (I tried runing memtest86+ but it froze at like 12%) Then I tried fixing the registry so I downloaded ccleaner and fixed the registry problems. Freezes continued. I finally decided to re install windows so I did and the problems still continued. I am at a loss of what to do and can't think of anything else.
Now the unusual part is the manner in which it freezes, any audio sounds in the game will simply not load over, nor will any graphics that havent already been loaded up prior to where the freezing is about to occur, then about 10 or 15 seconds later it will just hard freeze, causing me to reboot. Another interesting thing i should add is i was still able to talk to a friend over Skype for a bit after it froze. My GFX Card is not over heating as i keep track of it regularly with CPUID Hardware Monitor. There is nothing in my event viewer to pinpoint if its a software related issue or not.
I should mention that my PC is a Dell. I have had a problem like this about 3 months ago and they sent me a new motherboard, which seems to have solved the problem for awhile, however the issue started to reoccur again. My theory is that this motherboard is starting to fail as well, or i need to replace the Graphics Card. Is there any other way that the cause could be pinpointed for sure?
My video card is a Radeon HD 5870 and my motherboard is a Dell Inc. 0X501H

I've been getting random system freezes when playing COD MW3 and after I restart my PC I get a report for BSOD 124. What I've checked until now:
1.Non of my components is overheating or actually heating at all, since I have excellent custom cooling.
2. Checked my memory with a 10 hours memtest for windows 4 instances, each 1500MB.
3. Checked my PSU with a multimeter for 1 hour during load/idle. It's within specs.
4. Not overclocking.

I think these random freezes/lockups are related to some software conflict. I had a similar problem with some games running PB, and it appeared that PB has conflict with MSI Afterburner, so after I uninstalled afterburner I stopped getting it. The problem is that now my system freezes when I play Single PLayer/Spec Ops on MW3, which has nothing to do with PB.
So I have been having freezing problems for some time, the computer freezes and whatever sound was playing loops. I then reset the computer and it works okay for a while after. It normally freezes when I'm playing a game.
Just recently I had a BSOD which I don't normally get so I decided to post here since there was a new symptom. I have ESET Smart Security 5.0. I have included the report.
When I use firefox to try to watch video the video runs OK but when I stop it or it ends, my PC then freezes. This does not happen with IE8.I have uninstalled Adobe flash player (with the uninstall software from Adobe) then reinstalled it bit the same happens.

This is a new PC build, one month old, that has been having download issues, frequently freezing in the middle of downloads, and also freezes when watching streaming video. On file downloads, when it freezes, I can pause the download, then resume, and it will usually resume the download. I may have to do that 5-10 times to get the entire file. I was just watching a streaming video promo on buy.com's website (about 4 minutes long), and at 1 minute and 6 seconds the video freezes every time. I've tried to watch that video with IE, Firefox and Chrome, with the same results - freezing at 1 minute and 6 seconds with all three browsers. My regular web browsing seems to be very fast, no issues there (I have 6 mbps DSL). My network card has the latest driver (but I haven't tried to reinstall it). I have attached my PC info as a text file.

It has only recently started doing this. It freezes so badly, I have to completely reboot the system. All the drivers are up to date. If I pause and then play a video the audio starts just fine but the video is frozen until I skip forward or backward. It is only an issue if I pause then play the video within ~10 seconds. Not sure what is going on here or how to fix this. I'm using Shark007 codecs.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having major problems playing HD video. This includes my own home videos (1440 x 1080 / 29 fps) and dual-layer DVDs. I can't use WM Player because it's useless, the picture looks like a moving oil-painting. I can't use VLC player because the audio cuts out every few seconds when I play either HD video files or a dual-layer DVD. I can't use GOM Player because the audio lags severely when I play HD video files and it squeezes my wide-screen videos into a square for some reason (it's okay with dual-layer DVDs though, thankfully). I can't use KM Player because it just won't start, no matter how many times I reinstall it.EDIT: The GOM Player audio lag is caused by the software playing the video at several times normal speed, but not speeding up the audio.

I was running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit when I installed it and I immediately saw a drastic increase in performance. However, when I turned my computer off for the night, I noticed that it would hang at the shut down screen and never actually turn off.Refusing to believe that the new card was at fault, and having next to nothing on my C partition after my most recent formatting, I decided to go ahead and reinstall Windows to hopefully fix the issue. This is where my other problems started in. Suddenly Windows Explorer was crashing whenever I tried to use my disk drive and my system would randomly lock up. After assuming my install went wrong, I tried reinstalling twice more and neither worked.Finally, I got fed up and reinstalled my 32-bit copy of Windows 7 Professional and it still didn't work. As of now I've removed the new card and put my old 9500GT back in to find that I'm not having a single problem with the 9500.

The audio stutters or runs out of sync with the video, the video becomes grainy and jumping 3 or 4 seconds at a time. Just generally struggles to cope with the file. It varies as to how long this takes to kick in. Some times it's half way through a film, sometimes within a few seconds. Once it starts everything is painfully slow and I have to reboot. I've also noticed it takes much longer to reboot sometimes.
I checked in my programs and the Adobe Plug-in had an "X" over it so I uninstalled and then re-installed, thinking I'd found the issue, but it's still the same.
I've run AVG to look for viruses and also cleaned up the registry and so forth with other software but the problem remains. It only starts though when I run video files, this is what seems to start it.
i have been getting blue screens only while playing video games after about 20-40 min. I have been able to stop them, but to do so i have to set up a huge fan next to my computer.So i assumed the problem was from overheating. View 9 Replies View RelatedSo before I begin, here are the stats of my laptop.Asus G60JX, Windows 7 - x64, Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M -OEM -1 1/2 years old. Have never reformatted or reinstalled OS. So i've had this gaming laptop for around 1 1/2 years old and it's been blue screening since as long as i can remember. I should have taken the laptop back but at that time i was not very knowledgeable about computers (still aren't), and didn't know how bad BSOD's were. As far as the BSOD's go, it actually doesn't occur too frequently, maybe like once every month or so. But, it has happened on a consistent basis, ever since as long as i can remember. 95% of the time, the BSOD's occur while playing games.
