Colors On Computer Out Of Whack
Jul 25, 2012I have windows 7 + an I7 processor. When I turned my computer on today,all the colors,especially blue,orange,and pink are incredibly bright. I've tried adjusting them and nothing works.

Computer Stuck On Windows 7 Basic Colors
Nov 6, 2011i have a fairly new laptop with windows 7 (i can't remember which version), and i was wondering how to change the colors, if that makes sense. The laptop came installed with some default color scheme which i liked, but when i tried to watch a movie with Windows Media center it changed it to "windows 7 basic". it does this every time i use the program, but until now it has all ways automatically changed back

Feb 12, 2012my GPU is Nvidia Point Of View GTS 450 2GB DDR3. Yesterday I tried to overclock with MSI Afterburner by increasing the values by 60-70 and than I reverted back to original. Today when I started the PC, everything went fine but when I installed The Sims 3 and started it, the PC froze and there were some mixed colors (more like medium length lines, red, purple, green, blue, pink etc. ) on the upper left and bottom right corner of the screen. Than I restarted and it was fine.. Is there something that I should be worried about. The card is bought last year in June/July and it still has warranty. Also I wanted to ask another question, is it better to buy GTX 460 or GTX 560 or just to upgrade this card to SLI

Oct 29, 2009I have a problem with installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 Pro on a Shuttle XPC SN27P2 and was wondering if anyone else had seen the same thing?
Problem:
When I boot from the Windows 7 DVD the installation screen comes up in 8 colours only and the screen res looks like 640x480 on a screen that normally runs at 1600 x 1024 (this is what the original Windows XP installation ran).
Windows XP ran fine and did not have any of these problems (with the installer).
I am reluctant to proceed with the installer as I would prefer to iron out this problem before pushing on with the complete install.
Has anyone else seen this?
Screen Looses Colors On Battery?
Mar 7, 2012I have a HP Pavilion dm1 laptop. When I switch to battery I lose colors. Light greys turn to white etc. I think this is a power saving measure but it is really annoying. This does not occur when I am using my power adapter.
Does anyone know what this is and where I can disable it?

Dec 14, 2009While using Windows 7, my screen just turns opaque, and i have to reset my pc.
This happened :
1. Twice in Fifa 10 (exactly at kickoff, green screen)
2. Using uTorrent (White Screen)
3. As soon as i move mouse after boot up ( White)
The main problem is that my monitor goes into power-saving mode upon reset after this screen, and it does not get out of it. I have to wait a few hours everytime this happens to use my pc again. Its not my monitor, cause Ubuntu and Hackintosh work just fine. Today i got a similar black screen with XP. I have also restore factory settings in BIOS. Pls Help.
EDIT : Happened in Hackintosh as well, maybe ill restore BIOS to version that came with my PC.
EDIT : Found out a possible solution thanks to google (Damn! Why does BING even try?), Some RAM settings set to AUTO in BIOS. Will just have to give it the original frequency!

Jun 29, 2012I did a bit of searching, but I seem to be the only person I can find with this issue (most people seem to have the opposite issue).
I want to connect to my servers using Windows 7 Remote Desktop, but I would really like to do so in MORE than 256 colors.
Everyone I see online is asking how to get it to only display in 256 colors. Well mine will only display in 256 mode and I want it in full color if possible.
I checked the display setting in Remote Desktop and it's set to 32bit, but it never actually does show that way.
Edit: I should mention these servers are mostly running Windows Server 2003 if that makes a difference.
Strange Colors In Old Old Game Played On Windows 7?
Oct 2, 2011Today I remembered the name of a game I played when I was quite young, one of the first games I played. It is called the neverhood, and was around at the sort of time when windows 95 was the latest OS. I managed to find a copy today and was all excited to play this game, but the colours are really strange, certain shades are fluorescent pink, green, yellow, etc while other lighter shades are the colour they are meant to be. I can only assume this is because I am using the wrong colour depth or something, the problems were lessened when I set my colour depth to 16bit, but still not solved.

Jan 16, 2013Whenever I try to change my desktop background image to "Desktop Harmony", the default Windows 7 background, no error message comes up but it stays the solid color. But when I change solid color to solid color, the result is different. The background changes.
BTW, I recently reinstalled Windows, I think I fixed my driver problem because I restored Windows.old, but I can't seem to get rid of all the errors such as this one.
edit: I tried to delete TranscodedWallpaper.jpg from %USERPROFILE%AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsThemes
but, Windows keeps making the jpg file AGAIN and AGAIN...
Lines Of Colors After Entering Password In Windows 7 PW Field?
Dec 12, 2010This has happened mabe 2-3 times. Boot up computer, get the windows password field, put in pw, next screen is a cross-hatch (vertical and horizontal lines) of various colors. Cursor doesn't work, nothing works, manually shut the computer down. On rebooting, everything is OK??? Nothing appears to be wrong with my monitor (Samsung 193P), or any other functions of computer.

Dell Computer PC Will Not Load Windows Install CD From Computer Crash
Jun 21, 2012I have a two year old Dell PC with Windows 7. I got a virus in my computer that by phone and computer takeover Norton located in my MBR. When they cleaned it my computer will no longer boot up. Norton worked with me for three days on the problem but we were unable to fix the computer. I followed other web sites and repaired my MBR but it still will not boot up. I tried System Repair, Check point, Image, and Dell system restore and all failed. I have tried to use the Windows install CD and all I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor and then after 3 minutes the compute attempts to boot again and fails. I tried everything to try and wipe the drive from C prompt and it will not let me. I have very weak computer skills but I can follow directions and I have wiped a previous computer I owned. (I confirmed that my CD drive is working) I also should mention I have a second hard drive on my computer that I backed everything up to.

IF IT BOOTS takes and an incredibly long time to get to the desktop (20-45min). Does not want to run programs. Runs EXTREMELY slowly (makes a windows 95 pc look like a speed demon.) Random restarts, restart loops, and shutdowns. Sometimes after turning on it will immediately shut off then turn back on. Keeps recommending windows repair on startup. Wants to run chkdsk, then freezes on it.Malware detection programs. Hardware diagnostic programs. registry tools. disk defrags. Driver updates. Windows updates. BIOS update. System restore. Windows repair tool. Repair installation (twice). WINDOWS 7 CLEAN INSTALLATION (twice).Exactly the same as the first day it started happening. Jan 4, 2012I'm fixing my sisters computer, It froze on her, when she tried to start it up again it went into some sort of system repair mode and after about 20hrs of this (no joke) it gave me the option to restore the computer to factory settings, it also gave me the option to install some sort of backup on the hard drive, however i tried this and it said there was no room on the hard drive (if i didn't know any better I'd say the problem was with the hard drive) i went ahead with the system recovery as it seemed to be the only way to fix the computer (i know i sound like an oaf) now the computer is showing me a screen which states that i need to insert my windows installation disc, however the laptop has no disc drive!

Mar 27, 2012I m having 2 laptops at home, I want to create system image file of laptop1 onto laptop2. Since the data is large i cant take the hassle of creating sytem image on a DVD as it will require more DVD's to do it. So m planning to store it on Laptop2. I m thinking of connecting 2 Laptops with a LAN cable and then create the sytem image on other laptop.
