View 1 RepliesI'm new to windows 7 - which I don't like. Also don't like new laptop but I'm stuck with it till I can save for something else. I wanted to change the default font on the desktop. And after looking around found that you can change the font type by going to personalize, colors, advance. You can't change the desktop font but you can change it for different areas such as the start menu and desktop icons. So I changed the font style to Arial Black for both. But I don't like it. It's too large. But now I cannot seem to restore it back to it's original settings. Can someone tell me how to restore the settings back to default?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7 and find new windows open behind my current window. For example, if I am in Outlook and click 'New', the new mail window opens behind the main Outlook window. Also, I do not think the issue is specific to Outlook but I cant repeat it consistently enough with any other application to be sure.

View 2 Replies View Relatedan HP desktop E5550/4GB/1TBHDD with W7 Home Premium x64. It is pretty much overrun by rootkits, trojans and all manner of fun. Anyways, I have decided to wipe it clean. The problem is this: She lost the CDs that came with the computer. My current plan is to use a CD key-finding program, get the CD key, and use it in conjunction with a legally purchased Windows 7 Home Premium OEM DVD bought off of Newegg.com. Will this work?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer that had Microsoft home Premium on it but no disks. I had to re install so I used the key that is on the sticker under the laptop but after installation I got the message that it wasn't the right key. So i followed the prompts that led me to a phone call to activate by giving a bunch of numbers that were sent to Microsoft and it still says invalid key. Their is no OEM key that I can find and I cant get recovery to come up. I have a copy of a Win 7 Home that I used to install but its not the original. Is their a way to use the original key somehow?

View 3 Replies View RelatedEven after I use the F2 & F12 functions at startup, I still cannot get my computer to recognize the original Windows 7 CD in the drive. Under the F2 Boot function (on the InsydeH20 Setup Utility Screen) I have moved the CD/DVD drive to #1. I also attempted to manually choose CD/DVD under the F12 function for Boot Setup.Neither will recognize the CD. I have just two very important documents that were created in the past week that I need to get off my hard drive.[CODE]
View 3 Replies View RelatedPer microsoft I need to do try a repair install from original disk. Is there a difference between running repair install from Windows or booting from original disk then selecting upgrade install? Is one or the other preferred? Directions say both attempt to preserve installed programs, but not all drivers, and both require reinstalling all the 60 or so windows updates released after my disk. so no differences there.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi was trying to find out on the net how to format my old xbox 360 hdd for pc since i can't use it anyways because i got the new xbox that doesn't use those anymore so i stumbled across a thread showing how to do it and i thought i would explain how to do this so you can use it as a normal external HDD.first what you need is a xbox hdd and a xbox 360 hard drive transfer cable
1.download a tool called Hard Disk Low Level Format Tool link: [URL]
2.once you install that start the hard disk low level format tool and select your xbox 360 HDD?
3.click the tab called low-level format?
4.Then click "format this device" and wait a while for it to finish formatting the xbox hdd?
5.When its finished formatting go to your windows start menu right click on computer and choose manage?
6.click on the tab called disk management and there should be your xbox hdd but un-formated so your going to have to make it NTFS format and right click on it and make a new simple volume. If it does not allow you to make a new simple volume then right click were it says disk on the side like for example disk1 depending how many HDD's your pc has and choose convert to GPT disk, mines already formatted should look similar just without the NTFS and custom named hdd?
7.once that is done it should make your xbox HDD usable on your pc like any normal pc HDD ?
