Certain Websites Refuse To Load - Just Hangs On All Browsers
Jun 4, 2012
I'm having some weird problem - probably caused by a virus or something. Anyway, I have scanned my computer, with 2 different Anti-Trojan applications, both found many infected items and removed it. Now everything seems to be cleaned. Thing is, while trying to load google or bing - both sites wont load - it just hangs. I tried from 3 various browsers. When I put both sites IP addresses in the host file - it works! How can I get rid of this hassle?
Some drivers are not signed and Window 7 will refuse to load them. What to do? Turn on test signing which allows Windows 7 to load unsigned drivers. To enable this you have to open a command prompt as administrator and type the following command: Code: C:>bcdedit -SET TESTSIGN NO
when browsing, the browsers (chrome and ie9) freeses frequently a few secs. it doesn't repond on keyboard or touchpad actions: typing google autofill starts to auto fill, gives no extra characters when i type for a few sec and then gives the letters that a had typed (not all)the same with the backspace key. while typing this there's frequently a lag between typing and appearance of characters.pointer hoovering always works but sometimes (frequently it takes a few seconds to change from pointer to "link-hand" in another browser tab a Internet film is running without interruptions.often when i try to scroll with to fingers touchpad, the scrolling pointer appears but scrolling happens after a few seconds.
other programs like write: no problem anti virus and malware finds nothing
core temp is normal; memtest and hdd test are normal.in task manager performance monitor 2 of 4 ram is used, the overall cpu use is 7% but every approx 10secs the monitor stops for a few seconds, then the cpu use goes to 100% for half a second and the monitor runs again.in safe mode everything seems ok?
Basically, an assortment of websites have trouble loading. Some times they will take a couple refreshes to load, sometimes they will load in HTML after a long time, and some don't load at all. Sometimes a website will work fine, but then not load the next day. It's starting to really piss me off, especially since it affects such websites as:
- SoundCloud - Twitch.tv - Justin.tv - The Escapist - Facebook (occasionally) - Many more!
As far as I can tell, this all started a few months ago. My internet spontaneously stopped working. I called my ISP (TelstraClear NZ), and the operator did some troubleshooting. Eventually the problem just seemed to fix itself after I unplugged and replugged my modem; I guess it reset my connection.I have a SURFBoard modem and a Netgear wireless router. The things I've done to try fix are:
- Changing my DNS servers - many times - Using a different OS/computer - Using a different browser - Pinging the servers of stuck websites. Often I can't reach them with a ping - Turning off/unplugging my modem and router - Plugging my modem directly into the computer
I'm at my wit's end as to what the problem is. Everything i can see suggests that this is a DNS problem - the seemingly arbitrary times websites won't work, my inability to ping them, the random assortment of affected websites. The only other thing that would make sense to me is that it is my ISP causing the problem - but only for my connection.
I am having trouble loading certain websites in all browsers. I keep getting messages that say the connection timed out. Certain websites like google and hotmail will load. others like wikipedia will not. yahoo.com loads sometimes and not at others. I called my ISP and they say I have malware. I do not understand how they know this. I have run a scan using malwarebytes and no malicious items were detected
I have had my new computer for 2 weeks and already have run into a problem. Certain websites all of a sudden will not load in any browser. Some websites work fine, and my computer still seems to be very fast, however other sites will not load. Also certain photos in facebook and other sites will not load. Need to get this fixed ASAP as I work full time on my comp.
I just formatted my windows 7 a month ago and re-installed it . Few weeks ago i changed my modem to Netgear N150 modem + router . After that Most of the websites don't load . Eg : Facebook , yahoo , ms support , etc . I was scanning for any malware or virus but i didn't find any . And i hardly installed software in my computer . Even this forums is not loaded fully . My connection is really bad its oly 512kbps connection but most of the websites load in >10secs but now a days in any browser they are not loading at all. Not loading in the sense they are loaded half or not at all . Otherwise the loading thing is going on and on . It never ends. I checked my connection speed with speeedtest.net and got 524kbps which is my speed . When i download things i get the correct downspeed which i used to get early . But now most of the website are not loaded . I have norton and malwarebytes installed scanned the computer like ten times now . I first taut that dey both wer blocking web traffic and so i shut them down and i didn't find any improvements

I dont konw if this is a bug or what. But I can't seem to get certain websites to load that I was frequenting in the past weeks, but now find that the site wont load completely!Yes I am unemployed, trying to find work right now.
I am using windows 7 64 bit. I am connected to the Internet however IE nor Firefox will load? I am a uni student and desperately need the Internet to complete an assignment
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium. My IE version is 8.0.7600.16385. It's been working well until last night. Now suddenly, when I'm trying to go into large websites, everything takes halfway to forever to load. I even restored to any earlier point. Still the same problem. (By the way, I had difficulty restoring. I kept getting error messages. In the end I uninstalled Kaspersky, restored to an earlier point, reinstalled Kaspersky.)
Got this new computer here and sites using https or have used https in the past will not load. Main example I have is facebook. Going directly from the home page to facebook on IE9 it just hangs there which i open a new tab without http it loads fine. In firefox i can load the login page however once i hit enter or login is just hangs there and nothing works.
Did some fixs: Load all sites in Compatibility View Reset my TC/IP settings Did accelerated Graphics Disabled Windows Firewall Did IE9 with no Add-Ons Reinstalled IE9, Firefox, Flash, Shockwave, Java Changed home pages
None of these worked. I did find a separate issue that might be related to the issue. When I'm actually able to load facebook, I get Flash Security Error 2060 Sandbox Violation. Its looking for a link provided by zynga that actually isn't there.
I'm running Windows 7 x64, JDK 7 U4 and the Java plugin just won't work correctly in any browser, be it IE9, Chrome 19, or Firefox 12. Both the Java installation and the browsers are 32-bit versions. The browsers simply hang or display nothing when a Java applet is supposed to load.I do Java development, so I need the JDK.I have tried everything it seems. Completely removed the JDK and reinstalled it, tried both JDK 7 U3 as well as whatever the latest version of JDK 6 is, tried with just the JRE, but the problem is still the same. I also used a tool called JavaRa to completely remove any remnants of Java before re-installing it.The Java plugin seems to be correctly listed in all browsers (for instance in "about : plugins" in Chrome), with the correct version, too. In Control Panel -> Java, I also have "Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in" enabled.Apart from the browser issue, Java seems to be correctly installed, as I can run "java" or "javac" from a command prompt and it will give the expected output. I am also able to compile Java source files as well as run Java bytecode without issues.A few times I have been able to get it to work in a browser. All of these times were directly after a fresh installation of the JDK/JRE, but then it seems to stop working after a short period of time.
so I was on my desktop main account and then let my dad log on to a guest account I recently created for him since his laptop isn't working, then when I came back I logged onto my profile I couldn't open any browser, in the case of firefox this came up (firefox can't load host something, missing profile) and chrome (your preferences cannot be read)
then I couln't open some shorcuts (windows cannot find the target. and my utorrent setting reset as well, like if I had never used it, BUT the guest account works perfectly.
I'm able to open firefox with open as administrator but all addons, bookmarks are gone, I can't open the document, picture, and music links on the start menu either
I receive this error regardless of the browser I'm using but I am connected to the internet; I can connect to steam and update games for example. The issue is tied solely to the inability to load websites. Mine is the only computer on the network that is displaying the issue.
I am having issues with a few programs, namely Google Chrome, IE 9, and Windows Media Player, that just plain refuse to run. Every time I try to open any of them, I get the "a problem has caused the program to stop working correctly" message, so I have to hit the "close" link. I have tried fixing this issue with iolo's System Mechanic, but it doesn't work. I always keep all my programs as well as my OS updated, so I don't think that's the issue, and I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Chrome and IE, but to no avail. All other programs work just fine.
Specs:

-Comodo Internet Security -Zemana Antilogger Free -ExploitShield -Secunia PSI
i am trying to install the ati drivers in windows 7 x32, but they refuse to do so. the hardware manager does not even show a display / graphics adapter
i have a ati 4870 based card, i tried the vista + beta windwds 7 drivers neither worked
I recently downloaded a notification sent to my email box by one of these courier companies notifying me of a mail sent to my home address. Little did I know dat it's a virus(an exe file). on running it , It took over my laptop. I was able to control it to an extent but some of my system files has been erased.my laptop refuse to install new updates.
I have windows 7. I'm getting odd behaviour from my machine. I can only type in search boxes intermittently, other times when I press a letter the shortcut droplist comes on---"F" is find and so on. Only light on my keyboard is Num Lock, so I don't think it's a keyboard issue. When I left click shortcut to open IE(or any program), I get the, "do you want this program to make changes..." message, or I get the shortcut properties box, and if I move a shortcut, it makes a copy---"Computer 2."
It is a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge with a 500 gigabyte hard drive, 4 gigs of RAM, an Intel i5 processor, and an Intel Graphics Family video card that was bought from the company's online store. A few days ago I took the laptop out and started up as usual. Once logged in and at my desktop the computer refused to run any programs or even open the start menu for 15 minutes. After things begin to respond the computer runs fine but this worries me. It still continues to do this daily. Today a message appeared at the bottom right corner of the screen saying " Windows 7 Not Genuine Error 7601" I believe. The reason I cannot be more clear on that is because that went away. Since then, I, in a total panic, did several internet searches on the problems but was only directed to either one, but never both. I would like avoid contacting a technician so I came here.
I installed Ashapmoo Office Trial Version. I unstalled it but when i right click on my desktop and move my pointer to "New" I get this goddamed Ashampoo Planmaker and Textmaker along with other usual items
As it stands right now, my Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card will not allow me to plug in my headphones via the front panel of my desktop. (This makes sense, as the onboard audio solution was disabled upon installation of the card.)Thinking that this would only be a minor setback, I purchased a simple Y audio cable that enabled me to plug in both the speakers and the headphones at the same time.Unfortunately, this does *not* work as well as I intended. (It merely reduces the output of each, while simultaneous emitting sound. Nothing is muted.) Furthermore, it seems I can not get my card to actually *detect* the headphones.
When I type in Word 2010, frequently my keyboard will refuse to type. It will type a couple letters and then I have to wait to get it to go on. Then it will type a few more, etc. Another time it will type without an issue.I have changed the battery.
I dont know if this is posted in the right area but I'm so desperate to get my laptop working its unreal. First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.
Im having a couple problems with my computer, firstly when i boot up The icon for the LAN onnection has a red cross to say its not connected even though it is and it will recognise that it is after approx. 5 minutes and will only say network instead of the actual name if my connection (network99) secondly when i log on from booting up the desktop take a while to load and all the icon thumbnails load slowly one at a time and its really slow.
A few days ago I installed a USB 3.0 card (to be precise, this one: 2-Port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCI-E Controller Card - Free Shipping - DealExtreme). It uses the very common NEC PD720200 USB 3.0 controller. I installed the required drivers for Windows 7, and the card worked fine for the first day or so. but not since. Whenever I plug in a USB 3.0 external hard drive, I get a false "This device can perform faster..." message, as if I had plugged the drive in a USB 2.0 port.
The external drive I am using is a Western Digital MyBook Essential 1130. It is definitely a USB 3.0 drive, and came with the required USB 3.0 cable. While the USB 3.0 card was working, I got full-speed transfers to the limit of the hard drive's ability, about 90-100 MB/s. Now I can only get USB 2.0 speeds (33-34 MB/s). Windows insists I have the drive plugged into a USB 2.0 port even though it is plugged directly into the USB 3.0 card.
Things I tried so far: -rebooting and complete power cycle. No difference. -plugging the drive into one port or the other. Also no difference. -Looked in Device manager. The controller is recognized as a USB 3.0 device is using the proper NEC drivers.
Other info that may be important:
-No overclocking settings in use.
-I made sure the cable was plugged in all the way. It's in as far as it can go, but the ports will still only act like USB 2.0 ports.
I might as well throw the card away if it is only going to act as a USB 2.0 device.
Suddenly since this afternoon I have not been able to print from any browsers. I am able to print test pages to the printer and print from any other applications (word and excel).
am running win7 64bit, plus paid for versions of bitdefender and AVG pc tune up, none of my 3 browsers will open ( even in safe mode) all of my icons across the bottom of the page have gone, and ALL programs now end in .lnkave been to accessories, system restore , did not complete a restore point, have tried tools, internet options, advanced , reset and this did not help, also been to control panel ,back up and restorehave got into view downloads, have tried open and save but it just keeps duplicating the contents of the box and asks me again do i want to open or save.
Most of the time, whenever I open a browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome) it takes 5-10 seconds before it will connect to any websites. The tabs just show the 'connecting' symbol spinning. This happens even if I'm only trying to open a single tab. It's not because the computer is going slow or anything, because I can still access other programs or do other things within the browser like open new tabs, view options, etc. It's not a problem with my internet connection, because while the browser refuses to load a site I can use the command prompt to ping the same site and I get a response immediately. This has only started happening recently, like in the past two weeks.
I've been getting the BSOD for the past 4-5 days whenever I'm on the internet. At first I was on firefox, then I tried ie and google chrome, and I got the BSOD using all of them.
Neither FF, Opera or Chrome open on my Sony Vaio 64bit system. I know I have Internet access as Avast updates every day. When the relevant icons are pressed the Blue loading ring appears for a few seconds then disappears. When I try to access Task manager by ctr/alt/del the screen appears asking which service I require but when I select Task manager the Blue ring appears and again disappears and nothing happens. I regularly run anti virus scans and everything else seems to work okay. I've heard a rumour that the Bonjour service could be the problem. I I did uninstall it but maybe there is something left behind.
