I'm using Windows 7 64bit and I'm running Acrobat Pro X (10). I wonder why I can't view acrobat file image in my windows explorer. I have many acrobat files so I need to see the cover page in large icons. without that I need to look through one by one. It's hard for me to find one acrobat file. View 1 RepliesI have a desktop with Windows XP Pro SP3, and a netbook with Windows 7 Home edition SP1. It appears that the "Thumbnails" (picture) option has been eliminated from the video files "View" menu options, so I can no longer see a pictorial snapshot of the contents of my video files.
Is this option completely eliminated or is there something I can do to retrieve this feature for Windows 7?
Whenever I view a folder which contains .MP4 (H264) video files in large icon view (shows thumbnails), Windows 7's Explorer crashes. Explorer loads for a few seconds, the green progress bar shows up, and then boom!, Explorer crashes. The thumbnails are not shown before crashing.I tried setting Folder options to 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' (disables thumbnails) on the same folder with MP4 (H264) video files and Explorer doesn't crash if the MP4 thumbnails aren't shown. I tried testing in other folders containing other video formats (with 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' set to off) like .AVI/Xvid, without an MP4/H264 file, and Windows Explorer shows the thumbnails fine without crashing.
I have not currently experienced problems with other formats, only MP4/H264. The only media players that I have installed are KMPlayer and VLC Media Player which both do not install external codecs, AFAIK. The only external codec I have installed is CoreAVC, but I have been using CoreAVC for months (KMPlayer+CoreAVC is one of the first things I installed in Windows 7) without any problems (this issue just arose a few days ago).I am using Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit.
I cannot get the thumbnails coming up in explorer on win7 sp1 professional.I have all the .psd, jpeg, .bmp, .cr2, raw and everything else working but not the .PDF.I have tried everything, uninstalled, reinstalled, foxt pdf, x-change pdf and all sorts of thumbnail tweaks you name it, deleted acrobat reg entries etc etc.......I tried the fix created by the pretenciousname person who made a proggy to fix the issue, didnt work.

PROBLEM: I have thousands of PDFs in hundreds of folders. When I go to a particular folder, I use the slider to change the Explorer views from "Content" to "Extra Large Icons" but cannot get a thumbnail preview of the PDFs - all I see is an Acrobat Icon preview.I know that this is an issue on the X64-bit verson of Windows 7, but I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 (Ultimate)! ATTEMPTS: I've tried several ways to resolve this but nothing worked so far. Specifically, I: 1. With XP, I made each folder a thumbnail (.db file) so that each folder containing the movie would have a picture of the movie cover. My HTPC is still running XP, and of course, can view the thumbnails just fine. With Windows 7, I have tried everything.Basically, i can't get it to show the thumbnail (.db file) which is contained inside each movie folder.I have changed the folder options to "always show icons, never thumbnails" so that it will show thumbnails. I have changed the local group policy editor to make sure that windows has the proper settings. There is even an option to" turn off the display of thumbnails and only display icons on network folders."

But for some reason files like .Mp4 would show thumbnails/an image of the video while my MKV files just show an Icon. I have installed K-Lite codec pack 5.2.0 (64Bit) to enable my WMP to watch several files. Also I have try installing the Divx preview thing (Forgot what's it called) and it does make the Mkv show the thumbnail but it lags incredibly when I play it. Is there any alternate way to make my MKV videos show thumbnails?

The problem is that when opening a PDF file I get this box indicating to choose these options and then there is a check box to not ask me about it again. If I check it off, it goes away.Then when I try to close the tab that houses the PDF file, it will crash IE with acroread.dll being the culprit.What happens next is that if I try to read another PDF, the same box that I already told not to come up again will come back. It seems like it isn't getting the proper permissions to hold this setting. I found a fix via Google that said to just open up the Reader program and check off the box there -- that fixed the pop up box problem.The remaining problem is that gardless of if I update to the latest version of either program, I continue to have IE's tab crash whenever I close the tab that houses the PDF file.

So I went to the series of iso files and extracted them to a new folder but 4 minutes later all the files were in just one big iso and when I tried to extract that, it said the archive couldn't be accessed. I'm not trying to make a bootable disk; I need the files within the iso and I would rather not waste DVDs unnecessarily.

The problem that I am having is this:When i open up the shared c: drive on a windows xp computer, and open a folder to view files, it only shows 122 out of the 227 files.when i open up the c: drive on the windwos 7 machine, i can see all 227 files.when i open up excel or word, and open a file that is stored on the windows 7 machine, it will open fine, but when i try and browse for the file that is stored on the windows 7 machine, it does not show it.now here is the interesting thing:when i open up the shared c: drive on another computer running windows 7, (not the server) i can see all 227 files and have no problems.i have multiple folders, ex: mypics2008, mypics2009, mypics2010, mypics2001, mydocs2000, mydocs2010, all shared off of the c: drive on the windows 7 server. this problem started a few weeks ago, i was able to see all the files in every shared folder off of the windows 7 server through all of the windows xp pr machines a month ago, and all of a sudden in the past few weeks, i am no longer able to see all of the files shared off of the server.i have rebuilt the index on the windows 7 server i have removed and redone ALL security, and sharing settings i have checked, rechecked and checked again all the file sharing settings I am stumped, and i consider myself knowledgable with computers.

I'm trying to send some pictures and I want to reduce the size of them as I send themI'm using Windows Photo Gallery. I open it. My device is listed on the left hand column and when I click to view it, all it will do is try to import all the 3000 pictures I have on there. I don't want to put them into this new computer as they take up a lot of space. So, I just want to send a couple of them in an email.Maybe in this new computer with 450 GB, it would be okay to import them? can click on photo email as an attachment, and it will give me an opportunity to change the size and put it in the email. That's good, but I can't get to the pictures on my usb drive.I've dug around and found that it will not read unless the drive is listed under: computer, hard drives, and that is something the manufacturer does.
