I have a brand new Dell 580 with Win 7 & Office H&B 2010.After transferring my .pst file from an old machine, I shut down for a phsical move of the new dell.Ms installed 29 updates. After restarting, I get the message above, while the balance of MSOffice works just fine.
Yesterday my outlook was fine in the morning and suddenly I keep getting this message and cannot open it to get my emails! I run a business from home so am desperate to access these emails. The error message is...."Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express 4.01 or greater. You can install Outlook Express by running IE5Setup.exe from the IE5 folder located on your CD or through the Windows Update website".Now I've googled this and quite a few people have had this problem too and I've tried various answers that have worked for others but they don't work for me!The most common answer is to go to regedit and then find........ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftActive SetupInstalled Components{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}In the right pane there should be a value named IsInstalled. The data value for it should be 00000001. If yours ends with a zero, double click on IsInstalled and change the zero to a 1. Then try starting Outlook. But when I got to that folder there is no IsInstalled file there to change the data value on. There is a folder below it similar ending 00AA00B6015F which has an IsInstalled file where the value is already '1' so doesn't need changing!
This is the error message im getting when trying to launch Microsoft outlook 2010, using Windows 7 home x64.No error code is provided, see attached image for the error message.I tried all the solutions provided in other threads, none worked.
Trying to log into Outlook, but receiving this error message: "Cannot start Micgosoft Outlook. Cannot open Outlook Window> The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file C:UsersJohnAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlookOutlook.pst."
i have just installed ms outlook 2007 on my laptop. I am using windows 7. I am not able to send/receive mails in it. Whenever i try to click on send/recieve tab, everytime it gives me an error messege with code (0x80042108). Not able to use my outlook. I have configured my yahoo mail id in it.
I have windows 7 pro version installed on my desktop, 500 GB seagate 7200 rpm HDD, intel i5 4 GB RAM. This is not required, but I am posting the hardware details. My query is that previously I used to be able to access the hidden files on my C drive, now I am not able to access them. I need to access the data files of microsoft outlook ( I have microsoft outlook 2010) installed, so that I could run synch pst for outlook. I have long back put a check mark in the folder options to allow me to see the hidden system files, but yet i am not able to access the. My user account is an administrative account. However these files are accessible by goodsync software which synchronises these files to another drive on the same HDD. I wonder if goodsync have locked these folders. I don't think so because I was able to access them previously. I also created the default administrative account in windows if that works, and logging in under that account also did not help.

I installed Microsoft Office 2010 but what is send/receive? Does that mean if I click on it. The emails in my draft will be sent? Or I just receive the latest emails into my account?
I cannot open Outlook 2010. I get the following message: UsersUserAppDataLocalMicrosoftOutlookOutlook.ost is not an outlook data file (.ost) What does this mean? How can it be corrected
I am currently using IMAP between my Gmail and Microsoft Outlook 2010. In my Gmail account, one email could be tagged under label 1 and label 2 for example. If i would like to tag say Email B to both label 3 and label 4, how do i do that? I am new to Microsoft Outlook 2010, reason for deciding on Outlook 2010 is because Gmail's sorting is horrible.
That's the only complain i have about Gmail really, but the sorting is important for me to check the bulk of my email which are a lot.
I have installed office outlook 7 from a disk I have purchased and when I try to activat it says it can't. I need to download the driver for microsoft 7.
I am getting this error when trying to sendand rec emails: Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : Outlook data file cannot be accessed. I had changed the name of the folder where my pst files are but i then went and redirected them (i have 6 different pst files) to the new location and i can open up microsoft outlook OK and look at the data files fine and see all the emails etc so there is nothing wrong with the actual data files. I also went in and tested each email account and they appearto be all OK also, ie: they will send a test message and come up with NO errors.
Microsoft beefs up Outlook-to-Hotmail security Adds HTTPS support to Outlook Hotmail Connector tool for Windows Computerworld -Microsoft on Thursday boosted the security of a tool that lets Outlook users send and receive messages through the company's Web-based Hotmail service. The new Outlook Hotmail Connector supports HTTPS, a protocol that encrypts all traffic between the email client and the Windows Live Hotmail service. Microsoft added an all-HTTPS option to Hotmail in November 2010, in part as a reaction to Firesheep, a Firefox add-on released the month earlier that let anyone scan an unsecured Wi-Fi network and hijack others' access to Facebook, Twitter and a host of other services. This week's update to Outlook Hotmail Connector is a follow-up to Microsoft's 2010 move.
I've been using the same outlook 2010 for over a year now, with no problems..2 days ago I started getting 'Microsoft Outlook has stopped working' messages. The message pops up every time after about 30 seconds from starting Outlook. I've made another outlook account under a different windows profile and it works just fine..so not sure what the problem is. I've tried to make a new acct on the original profile, but still doesnt work.
Am trying to printout an email from Outlook 2010. When I go to print the print preview shows a small dash in upper left corner and the number of pages to be printed ranges from 32 to 112, depending on the email. It prints the dash mark and continues to spit out paper. It's not a printer issue, as I've tried 2 different ones.

I just looked at a thread where a person complained that there is a known incompatibility between Win 7 and Outlook 2002, namely that Outlook would not save passwords in the Win7 environment. Microsoft has offered no solutions and the tenor of most of the replies was that the complainer should just quit whining and upgrade. The software was purchased and the purchaser should have every expectation to be able use it, especially within a monopoly OS. The problem is that Microsoft doesn't support their software and actively (criminally?) plans their obsolescence so that people will be forced to upgrade. This is mere to pad their profits and does not serve the society in which they operate as an exclusive franchise. If a software company stops supporting their software, then they should be forced by statute to open the source code.Any arguments against this are purely fatuous They may claim that they are protecting source code, but if this is so, then the new upgrade is just a minor adjustment and not a substantive upgrade to the code. Minor changes to inventions are not worthy of patent protection under patent law. They can't have it both ways.Their attempt to force upgrades whenever they introduce a new OS cries out for protection under anti-trust laws.Microsoft does not have the authority or the right to pad their profits by planning obsolescence into systems that they monopolize. If they don't want to support old software then let them turn this task over to competitors. This is the meaning of patent law, to allow innovations that serve the interest of society. This is an industry that is out of control and needs fixing. Their control of the OS places a huge and unnecessary cost burden on the middle class throughout the world. This is a drag on the entire economy and adversely impacts our society in numerous ways.
I use Windows 7 64 Home Premium, and I have Microsoft office 2003 installed, where I use Microsoft Outlook for my main email address. In recent months, when I close down the outlook, a Microsoft pops up states 'Microsoft word has stopped working'. If the pop up isn't closed, for some reason Microsoft word opens up, and when I do need to open Microsoft word, this freezes and takes ages to open up, also on closing, it freezes again, and it is stated in start task manager 'as not responding.
Recently, Windowx XP Pro was installed on VMWare Workstation. It works great. Then, in virtual XP, I see an active Outlook Express.Since I started to use Windows 7, I missed reading newsgroups in Outlook Express with Win XP.I tried "news.microsoft.com" or "msnews.microsoft.com" as news server. It does not work: Unable to connect to the server.
I set up Outlook and my email account details, and Outlook's test message was received successfully (by Windows Live Mail).
But then when I tried to start Outlook, I got this error message: Microsoft Office Outlook Unable to open your default e-mail folders. "Outlook could not start because a data file to send and receive mail could not be found. To add a data file, such as a personal folder file, double-click the Mail icon in Windows Control Panel".
I tried this but the only options open to me were modifying the mail settings I'd just set, or Change settings for the files Outlook uses to store e-mail messages and documents.
When I tried this by clicking the Data Files button there was no pst file listed. When I clicked Add, it is empty.
I can open Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ...ect Files But I can't find the applications on my start Menu Is there anyway to restore them on there or should I reinstall Microsoft ?
