Every time I turn my laptop off when I turn it back on my internet access is inaccessible. I was able to restore to an earlier date and then the internet would work again. Now the dates are too recent and will not allow me to restore back long enough to undo whatever messed with my internet connection.

I recently switched over to Xfinity internet and one of the laptops in the household is not connecting to it correctly. After deleting it from the router and adding it back, the new error message I receive from troubleshoot is "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (Microsoft Home Page | Devices and Services) is not responding".
It worked just fine when I tried to connect it via the Ethernet cable. I have tried clearing the DNS cache as well. Here is my ipconfig /all for the laptop:

But there seems to be an issue recently with a few local hotspots around town here (Starbucks, McDonalds). I can go to one Starbucks and connect perfectly fine, then drive right down the street to another and while I am connected, it says I have no internet access. I've been able to connect perfectly fine here before, but suddenly this problem has continued. I'm completely at a loss for what to do. I've rebooted, disabled and re-enabled the network card, tried to troubleshoot the problem (which results in no information). The darned thing shows me that I am connected with terrific signal strength, but no internet access.

- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect.
- Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect.
- Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
I'm not exactly the most tech-savvy individual, so I will try to convey the problem I'm having here. I'm at my girlfriend's house, and have two laptops with me. One is a Sony VAIO (which I am currently using), the other is an Alienware m14x (sitting right next to me). I use the Alienware to play Diablo 3, and have had no issues connecting to any wireless access points prior to this.My sony connects to her home network just fine (linksys), but the alienware will not. I enter in the network password, and when I try to connect, it gives me the yellow exclamation mark over the white connection bars. When I click on it, it says "connected" in bold letters next to the network name. However, above, it says "Unidentified network," and underneath, "No Internet access."I have tried disabling firewalls and anti-virus software, I have reset the router, the computer, the wireless adapter, all to no avail. I'm not sure what to do. I'm pretty sure it's not the router's issue since all other wireless devices in the house connect to it just fine.

Anyway, now that I'm on IE-10, I've noticed that some webpages I've written no longer appear the way I'd like them to. Specifically, this relates to tables; more specifically, to their borders. From what I can tell so far, this is due to the fact that IE-10 has deprecated the following HTML tag: bordercolor="value". I've considered the idea of reverting back to IE-9, but rejected that as a misguided attempt to hold onto the past: i.e., I think other browsers have already deprecated this tag; IE-9 being the last hold-out.
So onward we go. And from what I can gather, the way forward will involve some kind of CSS implementation, about which I know almost nothing; something I'm not bragging about, to be sure. I've begun to review some online documentation, specifically, HTML Dog. While this seems like a great resource, I'm having a hard time using it to quickly learn how to make the necessary changes to some production webpages so I can restore them to their previous appearance. Perhaps, I should mention that I really don't use any special webpage generation tools. I just write the straight HTML code using MS Wordpad. Also, my knowledge of HTML is both rudimentary and backlevel: what I've learned to do over the years is probably based on the HTML 3.0 standard.

It happened because i accidentally set wrong date in BIOS (i wasn't using it about 3 month and CMOS batter was dead therefore it asked me to enter the date). After using it couple hours i saw that error and googled it. I found that the date is wrong and fixed it but nothing changed. I'm a college student, and paying $50 sounded better than paying $200. Anyways, I bought a 9cell battery for my XPS. So here's what happens when I plug in the new battery:

When I plugged in just the battery alone, I went into BIOS and saw that the system's date and time were screwed up; it was showing some weird date in the year 1901. With this new battery, sometimes the hard drive wouldn't load. For example, when I turn my computer on, I can hear the hard drive spinning, but after a couple of seconds, the whole system just...freezes.
I initially thought it was a problem with my hard drive, since a screen kept coming up saying that some of the Windows files were corrupt. I did a clean install of Windows 7, and even tried Vista, but still nothing. With Vista, the date and time would still mess up, and sometimes nothing would load. I even tried system restoring after booting from the CD drive, but I received an error message that I had no shadow copies to restore from. I tried starting up with another hard drive, but still had the same issues.
Right now I'm using my old battery, and I get the message "Consider Replacing Your Battery." Can anyone help shed some light on this issue? Does the problem seem to be with the new battery?

I say this because I have a desktop and laptop backed up on it and I have previously (successfully) restored my desktop. But I just tried restoring my laptop and I get an error that my laptop needs to be connected to the network and to make sure that my server is on (as if I didn't know that already). This error comes up after the driver install screen. I proceeded to follow the instructions for installing drivers and was able to get the networking drivers installed on my laptop and I still got the same error. I also tried hooking up and Ethernet cable from my router directly to my laptop and that still didn't do it.

There exists a partition in the hard drive solely for recovery purposes. Providing that the retailer will think that the laptop has never been used, and will be asked to set up a new windows account and asked welcome to your new windows laptop (or whatever that comes up) and the bloatware that comes with the HP laptop is all there, how would I go about restoring it to that 'new laptop' setting?
so i turn off my laptop for the night. I come home from school the next day i turn it on.My laptop freezes, after a while a blue screen flashes and the computer turns off. Then i turn on my laptop again it does the same thing.So i decided to i have to restore my laptop.I press f8 and it brings me to the menu i click on repair your computer then it brings me to the artistic blue screen background but nothing pops up. View 2 Replies View RelatedIve owned a dell studio 1558 laptop for almost 2 years now and have recently been experiencing some overheating issues, among my many solutions "new thermal paste, cleaning the inside" and a virus scan using Avast, which discovered a four digit number of corrupted files followed by their deletion and subsequent problems due to now missing some .dll files making me unable to run anything or access the internet. Ive decided I should restore the laptop to its factory settings which I believe I have done before. The problem now is that once I reach the Advance boot menu using F8, I press enter on the "repair your computer" option which is followed by a bar saying windows is loading files, lasting one second, and then windows loads up and nothing changed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy laptop which is a Asus GXG72 came with restore disks surprisingly, I guess it was right before they stopped putting them in the box. I never needed them till my harddrive started making noise. At first I didn't realize I had the restore disks, so I tried making my own using the program my computer had. It would always fail at the end. I Ended up making a image of my harddrive through windows not realizing I actually need a copy of windows to reload it. I ended up finding my restore disk and figure my worries were over.... Apparently it was corrupt it only partially loaded windows onto the machine, I managed somehow to tweak it enough to recognize my usb drive so that I could restore my computer to the old image. From then on it blue screened every once in a while, but it worked. I am having problems with games now and I'm not sure if its hardware or software related. I wanna try restoring the computers main files and see if that works if not just wiping it completely. Problem is I don't have working restore disks, can't make them and have no copy of windows 7. Is their anything I can do beside buy a copy of windows 7? Which I feel is retarded considering I have one technically.
