Jul 23, 2011So im unable to create any new profiles without them getting the: user profile failed at login. I've tried the fix on microsoft website by going into safe mode and doing the regisrer fix but I've had no luck.

Error: "The system cannot find the file specified". System restore doesn't work and I can't do a repair install as I have service pack 1 and cant remove it because I removed the temp files it requires to uninstall.

Sep 29, 2012when I do a clean install of Windows on a Dell computer and want to install drivers, I go to the Dell site and search for drivers using the Service Tag. It will generally come up with 80 or 100 drivers that I need to wade through. There are commonly 4 or 5 wireless drivers, the same # of wired network driver, 2 or 3 audio drivers, 2 or 3 graphics, etc.Is there a quick way to determine what drivers to install?I have gone to http:[url]... and looked up Vendor ID and Device ID but this is rather time consuming. I find that Dell computers are much worse than other vendors in not being able to tell me what hardware drivers are needed.

Jan 24, 2012Basically my laptop has been having very high temperatures for a long time (usually ~60C for CPU and often 100-110 for GPU...insanely high, in other words) For example, see how hot the machine gets just by resuming from a sleep (this is all within a minute or so):I have been seeing the following error in event viewer each time I start Windows (4 entries) for some time:So today I bit the bullet and had the back cover off the laptop and noticed what a bad state the thermal compound was in, for both the CPU and the chipset chip, so wiped it off using TIM Cleaner, and then applied new thermal compound and put the laptop back together. I was actually shocked because for the first time since I can remember, I could feel cold air blowing from the vents of my laptop! I logged into Windows and noticed that my temperatures had fallen and were staying at around the below:Not as low as I'd like but a massive improvement. Trouble is, I am still getting the WHEA-Logger event errors in Windows Event Viewer ('processor core') and wondered if this was not in regards to overheating after all?The plus side is my laptop is now almost totally silent - the way it must have been when I bought it new 3 years ago! But I was wondering how to investigate these WHEA-Logger errors?PS - I think I accidentally got some TIM Cleaner spilt on the carpet. System Keeps Restarting Event Log: Critical Error - Event ID 41

Computer rarely restarts during the time I am using it. It restarts if I leave stuff downloading overnight or if I leave on during the day. I then have to re-install any software I installed the previous time because it says it was shutdown improperly ( CRASHED).
I then check the Event logger and see it has multiple crash reports.

Oct 6, 2011Just installed Windows 7 fresh on a new intel 320m 160gb. After i type in my password at the login screen windows hangs for about 15 - 20 seconds on welcome with the moving circle. Total boot time is about 40 - 50 seconds. I've checked the event log and an event 100 and event 200 show up at every boot and shut down but it does not tell me what process is causing this. I've tried a clean re install of windows 7 with a non sp1 and an sp1 disk and get the same results. I used windows boot or starup repair and it said something about an audio device? So i unplugged my Asus xonar but im still getting the same hang time on welcome. So far nothing is plugged in the computer except for mouse keyboard monitor and ethernet cable. I'm on a home network with one computer.The setup is gigabyte z68x ud3h b3 G skill 16gb ram or now 8corsair 800ax psui7 2600kgtx560I've installed plenty of windows 7 on many intel ssd's (mainly x25 m) and this is the first time ive seen this slow of a boot time and its especially odd that it gets hung up on the welcome screen. Dec 15, 2011i have a Dell Vostro 1520 and im running Windows 7 with a 32bit. It is only 2 years only. It started about a month ago. I was on my laptop viewing and deleting some unwanted photos i had. A few minutes later i realized that i deleted a photo that i wanted. So i went to the recycling bin and restored that photo. When i went back to my photos and went into the album, it said something like i do no have permission to access this folder. Please press continue to get full permission. I clicked continue and i got the access i should have. Now i tried many more random folders and the same thing happened. Also when i came out of the folders, the folders had a big pad lock sign on the front of it. After that i shut down the laptop and went to turn it back on. The laptop will power on like normal. I can press f12 for the boot options. which i have already tried many times. I also tried it in safe mode and what-not, but still nothing. I can hear the fan and stuff spinning up like normal. I have also put and CD into the CD ROM and that spins up fine. So after the Dell logo on the screen, it goes black and stays that way with the cursor. You can move the cursor around no problem. I should also add that the battery light is and has been flashing for a good wile. Its flashing orange and blue. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the battery. Because my laptop will not charge with the AC adapter in it for many months now. It will only stay powered on with the AC adapter plugged in. One more thing. The LED lights over the buttons. None of the are flashing, besides one, on the far left. And i cant find out anywhere what this LED light stands for.

Mar 8, 2012Three Computers on a home network. Desktop in Office (Windows 7) . Wife's Laptop (Windows 7). My laptop ( Vista unfortunately). Norton Security Suite and all three. I have a network setup and a Homegroup established.
Everything was setup and working so that I could share files between all three. My wife was able to open a desktop file make changes and save it back to the desktop computer.
All of that changed. Now we get a message when trying to save the file. "You do not have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission".
I have given the entire "MY Documents" sharing permission to everyone. I have checked everything. I have looked over all kinds of forums and nothing has worked.
I am to the point of doing a complete reinstall of Windows 7 on my Desktop.
Mouse Works At Login, But Not After Login?
Dec 27, 2011I have a Microsoft Intellipoint 2000 usb mouse that has been working flawlessly for about 8 months, and a windows 7 laptop 64 bit. Recently however, the mouse would work at the login screen, but after I would login, it would stop working. Its drivers are up-to-date. It seems as though something changed recently that disables it after login, and if I reconnect it I sometimes get Error Code 43, and it says it is not recognized, then again, sometimes it will work flawlessly, until i put my computer to sleep.

When i first boot up computer and log into WLM Ver:14.0.8117.416 it tells me if i have any emails and i go to the inbox and check them. After about 1/2 mins windows Live Messenger signd itself out. If i go to sign in the sign in window pops up and i enter detais but the WLM icon on the taskbar says i am logged in but then if i click on inbox a window opens but it wont connect to hotmail its just a blank IE page. The only way i have kept logged in is when i first log on i open hotmail and then i have to keep that webpage open all the time if not WLM logs off. A few days before this happened i lost connection to my Sky broadband for 2/3 hours and i rebooted the router and all was good. I have done Spybot, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Microsoft Security and they all came back ok.

These 2 days my Windows 7 Build 7232 got a problem that there is an alert message to show "I/O Error 103" when logged into Windows. I check in TECHNET support site and know it was due to "Cannot connect to the registry on site server X in site Y.".
The iso file of the Build 7232 was scanned with Kaspersky and found without malware nor virus.
No Way Of Logging Into Computer?
Jun 18, 2012what my password is to log in. The only account I can get into is the guest account. I have tried using NT Password & Registry Editor and it says password has been changed but when I try logging in it still says wrong pw. Also I notice this completely took off the option to log into my account I created it was not listed on the log in screen until I did a restore from a repair disc I created.But that obviously did not help the password problem.I am running Win 7 Home Premium on a Gateway ID49C07u. If there is a way to completely restore the computer back to factory instead of finding the password this is no problem.

Safe mode starts up properly. I tried to selectively disable the service take off, I checked the correctness of system files (sfc), chkdsk scanned, restored the system state, repairing the system from the installer, but still the same effect. MHDD does not show anything suspicious and logs OTL, which results in the Annex. Issue the command with cmd explorer.exe does not work. When you call the command iexplore or other associated with the control panel everything works. Sometimes this happens with all the icons appear and then disappear, and only remains the sidebar.
