Aug 22, 2010I have recently picked up a rather old Epson EPL-5800L, which I was unable to successfully install on a Windows 7 OS. According to the manufacturer's website, there are no Windows 7 drivers available for this printer. Hardware-wise, the printer iworks fine and has happily installed using an NT 4.0 driver under Windows XP 32-bit.I have so far tried running the available Windows 2000/NT 4.0 driver in the required compatibility mode and with full 'Admin' rights but with no luck as the OS reports that the driver is not compatibile.Looking for an alternative solution, I have tried EPL-5900, EPL-6100L and EPL-6200L drivers. Whereas ELP-5900 and EPL6200L would not even attempt to communicate with the printer, EPL-6100L results in an instant error light coming up. As there is no software control panel, I can only presume that the driver has been written for a slightly different printing processor.I have also replied to Epson asking whether the printer is PostScript enabled as there is no obvious indication in the specification sheet but got some generic instructions. A transcript of that conversation will be attached attached to this post within next couple of days.

Cannot Install New Epson NX420 Printer - Access Is Denied
Mar 31, 2011I have a new Epson NX420 Printer that I had installed one month ago. Last week another user on the computer who does not have administrative rights like me could not print anything with her jobs getting held up in queue. I tried uninstalling and re-installing printer to fix problem. Now after trying disk that came with printer and downloading from Epson website I get to end of installation and I get error message" Can't install printer access is denied". Is there a fix for this problem without doing a complete reinstallation of the operating system.

Oct 26, 2012Hopefully not the wrong category, but there was nothing related to headsets, so I made a best guess. I got a Corsair Vengeance 1500 headset a while back, and have been having issues with them ever since. The first headset was RMA'd, and then the second was as well due to an issue where randomly the sound would just cut out. The headsets were still on (the mic loopback system would work), and even recognized as being plugged in by Windows, but I could hear absolutely nothing from my computer. The only temporary fix thus far is to unplug the headset, then plug it back in. After contacting Corsair again, they just had me RMA the headset again without any sort of explanation. After less than a day of use, the same issue has just occurred. Now either I am just unlucky as all hell and this headset is somehow broken too, or the issue is related to my system.I have no idea what the problem is, and have yet to find anything helpful online. I've tried reinstalling drivers and switching USB ports, but to no avail.

Error: "The system cannot find the file specified". System restore doesn't work and I can't do a repair install as I have service pack 1 and cant remove it because I removed the temp files it requires to uninstall.
Dell Vostro 1500 Only Runs In SAFE Mode?
Dec 26, 2012I have a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop running Windows 7 Home Edition, 32bit version. For some reason I cannot get the laptop to run in "normal" mode. It runs in SAFE mode and I can surf the Internet and all, but it won't run in "normal" mode. When I try to run in "normal" mode the computer just hangs up, and won't connect to the Internet, when I click on ANY browser.
