Last week I bought an Acer S3 391 dor my wife, and happiness didn't last long, since it has being BSOD'd since the first day during startup. I suspect either an Intel Driver, or the Diskeeper Expresscache, but I'd like to ask for your opinion on this before I proceed.
Our HP died, so we found a Acer Aspire X1430g on clearance at Walmart for $240 so we snatched it up. It was purchased on Friday 6.1.12 and I still do not have it up and running.
When I got it set up I tried activating the Anti virus software that came with it. It just kept saying activating and sat there forever. I tried to visit some websites and some wouldn't load, others would take forever, windows live messenger would not sign in. I did the Acer E recovery since I didn't have a reboot disk made yet. It got all the way to step 29 of 29 and sat there and sat there, not going any further so I shut the computer down. Tried it again, and the same thing happened, it got to step 29 and that's as far as it got. I left the computer alone for 6+ hours while it was on step 29. I'm no expert but I am sure it does not take that long to restore a computer. Frustrated, I chatted with Acer and provided them with the serial number off the side of the unit. He told me that I would have to purchase the recovery disk off their website since the unit was purchased in November 2011. I told him again that it was a brand new unit and he said I would have to fax proof of purchase and serial numbers to prove we just bought it. I asked if there was any way we could check to see if it was installed properly at the factory and he said no, the E recovery was the only way to fix this problem. So, I am really frustrated at why this brand new computer will not work. Is there any other way to get the computer to restore? Should I try it in safe mode? Should I just take the unit back to Walmart?
Walmart's return policy is 15 days with receipt and all paperwork that came with computer.
My problem is that after turning on the power for the very first time, it will not recognize my keyboard. I have several different keyboards and I tried them all- including the Acer keyboard that came with the PC.I think my mistake was that before turning on the power, I had plugged in both an HDMI connection to my TV as well as a DVI connection to an Acer 23" monitor. Then when I powered up the PC, it defaulted to the HDMI output but I didn't realize that and was expecting it to displa on the monitor. It took me a while to figure out that it defaulted to the HDMI connection. I started out by looking at my monitor and couldn't figure out why there was no activity on the monitor. But once I switched the TV input to "HDMI 1", I saw the output was displayed on my TV.Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to recognize any keyboard now although it does make a "clicking" sound when I press keys on the keyboard. I tried to press WIN+P to change the HDMI output to show the same output on both the TV and the monitor but it seems to default to "side by side" and the only thing that I can think to do now is to pull out the power cord plug and try to re-boot with just the monitor connected and without the HDMI connection. When I hit the "power off" button, it has no effect. Should I pull out the power cord from the outlet? Or is there some other way to get it to reboot?
i got my acer aspire brand new, powered up installed my music and other ,replaced antivirus with my own ,removed the crapware ,then updated it after doing my 3 factory discs ,i then rebooted the system and on restart it would not boot up,i returned the laptop to shop who sent it away ,3 weeks later to be imformed it needed a bios update ,now how could this be on a brand new laptop.after roughley 6hrs use.
I have recently purchased a new laptop for myself and chose the ACER Aspire 5349 series. It functioned properly and without fail for a week and then problems arose. My laptop began to shut off randomly and without warning. This happens if I am on battery or plugged in. To turn it on must remove any sources of electricity (power cord and battery) and then must hold the power button for 30 seconds once I release I must put the power cord back in start up the laptop then add the battery. This has been happening about 90% of the time and very randomly.

I have a problem with my laptop. It's 3 years old but it's still fuctioing verry vell, accept that every time I try to start it the BSOD apears, and that happens about 2-3 times the it start normaly.
I recently put Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit version) on my Acer Aspire One AOA150/ZG5. It runs but when I go to download something I often get a BSoD (not always however). I was wondering if this is a driver issue and if there's a way to fix it.Everything seems to work (except a few features on the mouse pad and I'd assume the webcam).
my acer aspire 5680 have a black screen problem whenever i try to open the laptop. when i open the laptop there will be beep-ing sound and then nothing will appear on my laptop screen. i suspect this is a black screen problem.
3 minutes upwards on my new Windows 7 x64 Ultimate system It was already like that before I even installed anything. I already tweaked it and disabled a lot of startup services using Black Viper's Configurations. Still no go.Intel i7 2600 @ 3.4 Ghz8 GB RAMATI Radeon 4650 HD ASUS P8H67-M L67 (motherboard)
I accidentally reinstalled the wrong Operating System Recovery CD on my Acer Aspire 5534 laptop, and I want to return it back to factory settings. How do I do I restore it back to factory settings?

When i turn the computer on i get the screen : setup is starting service. Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. I have contacted acer they tried to help with the ALT and F12. Nothing I have tried works.. They told me to order the recovery discs for $20.00. I did , and they dont work either... I contacted them back, and now they say to send it back to them and for $199.00 plus shipping, they will repair the computer..I do not have the money for that..I have the the system disc, the 3 recovery disc and the language disc , that I just ordered from Acer for $20.00.
When I press down f10 and ALT at the same time during boot up from the factory recovery disk when seeing the splash screen, nothing happens and the 'acer laptap just boots from the regular hard drive as usual.
I bought and assembled a new computer for a friend of mine, tested it, everything seemed fine, until they proved not to be. I've tested all components (proccessor, GPU, RAM, HDD) with all the tests I know for painstakingly long periods, with no errors whatsoever, but neverthelese computer keeps rebooting with BSODs at *random* intervals (independent of use).
is that it *might* be an incompatibility issue between the ram modules and the motherboard. Here I attach the SF tool results and an speccy image of the system.
So I just got this new Asus n53sn-xr2 laptop using windows 7, and already I'm having some problems with it. Basically what happens is it will freeze seemingly at random times (at first I thought it was firefox, but I just got it again using google chrome... I'm not sure if its related to browsing the internet or not) and the computer will, after a short period of time, become completely unresponsive. I can't even load task manager so the only way to turn of the computer is with the power button. One of the times my computer freezed I got a BSOD and it said "driver power state failure". I took a picture of it and I can provide the other information too if you need me too. I can return this computer by monday if it sounds like a hardware issue but if its not then I would much rather fix it because I've already put so much time into transferring all my files

When I attempt to play fear 3 on steam, the fear 3 logo comes up then the pc either blue screens or just restarts itself. This is the only time I get a bsod as far as I know and my pc seems to be playing other games perfectly.
I just purchased a new build, listed below, and cannot figure out why I am getting random hard freezes. There is no blue screen of death, just hard freeze required restart. I get about 3-5 a day.

I am running low on time, as my one month for newegg returns runs out soon. I lost a week having to RMA the hard disk already, as the first one that came was DOA. I have performed furmark for 20 minutes, no failure. Memtest overnight, no failure. Seagate tools, passed test (didn't do thorough long test). Prime95 CPU small FFT for 8 hours, no problem. Prime95 CPU blend for 3 hours, no problem. I have tried reinstalling windows 7, and I have updated the BIOS.
I have an acer aspire one and when I turn it on it doesn't ask me to type my password even though I have set one. I have tried resetting my password but it still doesn't make a difference.
I already have windows 7 fom start on my acer aspire 521. Then it got slower, so I installed 2Gb memory. Now its getting slower again. So I want to fully reinstall the software from scratch. I do not have an recovery disk from the binning. So what is the procedure and do i have to reformat the c drive or can it be done without?I don't want the old registry and so on, because thats one of the problems I think.
i recently was using a product called ptedit32. In which i was trying to unhide my pq service to see what was in there. So i changed its boot from hidden to active.(0C was changed to 07) with the other three partitions being 07 as well. This has turned out bad for me now. It seems there is a mbr that is not being recognized. I turn the acer 0ne aspire d255e on and the machine goes to a screen that say can't load windows due to recent hardware or software changes.Status: 0xc0000225It also ask to have the installation disk inserted, of which there is'nt one and the computer doesn't have a dvd/cd drive anyway. It was all on the pq service, which is the hidden partition. I've tried flashing the acer pc as well from usb. and can't get that to work.
Most desktop monitors, when inactive for periods of time(usually preset in o.s. or altered for individual tastes) saves electricity by powering down the monitor, and let it "sleep", but any programs running on the cpu, continue on, unabated. But with these Acer Aspire All-in-one compters are different, i may be listening to an internet radio station, and even though it's not a computer program running,,after a time of inactivity of my manually working (via my keyboard) or something like that, the screen goes black and it kills the internet connection to the internet radio i am listening to. Yes,,if that happens,,i only have to jiggle or move my mouse to turn the screen back on, but is a real pain to have to continually jar the mouse to keep the radio on. Any ideas on how to avoid this black screen of killing my internet radio, and downloads??or anything going on ,while the screen is active?
i have a acer aspire one 255 my windows is not working but it doesn't have a disk drive installing with usb dosn't work . can i take the hdd and install my windows on my sony vaio because has a disk drive.
so my just over a year old laptop fell off of my bed today. When trying to turn on the black acer screen comes up and a few seconds later it restarts. I have tried f 8, just beeps, f 12 still nothing but beeping, alt 10 same. I have tried removing the harddrive and starting it, still nothing. I then tried removing the ram one at a time, still nothing. Could the mother board off went bad?
I am working with backing up my computer and I am dazzled by all the dvd R and RW and minus and plus etc. My dvd drive is listed like this: DVD +or - RW (+ or - DL)/DVD Ram. I am probably on the wrong board but I couldn't get on the "internal hardware" I have no idea what all this means. All I know is that DVD+RW seems to work. The clerk told me that I had better be sure what my dvd drive uses.
I have an ACER One (Model A0531h) netbook. I have now tried several times to recovery it to factory settings using the built in recovery partition. I access this recovery partition by using Alt-f10 during boot. The recovery runs fine up until 99% where it 'sticks'.. for days..The application running the recovery is Acer eRecovery Manager v7.5.15. I have also recovering using the recovery DVD's which I burned. They seem to go through the process but then when I restart the system I get a black screen complaining about missing files. I am then instructed to run recovery...This is driving me crazy. I have also reseated the RAM but dont want to have to strip of the cover to reseat hard drive. I can however hear it running and I have also used Active@boot to reformat the C drive. The recovery partition has not been touched and is not damaged. It runs perfectly up to 99%.
I am using an Acer Aspire 5517, running Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1). While using it, every few minutes the system will hang. It becomes completely unresponsive and the cursor turns into a waiting icon (spinning circle) for anywhere from 30 seconds to a couple minutes before it becomes responsive again. It doesn't seem to matter what programs are running, I've seen it happen after a reboot while just using Windows Explorer. Norton Antivirus scans are clean. I also ran Malware Bytes, which cleaned up a few items but the problems persist. I'm not sure if there is other malware on the computer.
i have a laptop Acer Aspire 5515 and i have windows vista I wan't to upgrade to windows 7 RTM my question is i need special drivers ?? i can install vista drivers in windows 7 ? windows 7 search automatically drivers for my laptop ?
I'm using Acer Aspire One D255 Windows XP . But I just install new Windows 7 Home Pre 32bit . I can not access internet . I checked "Device manager" and they showed that I have no driver for [Ethernet Controller, Network Controller ,and Video Controller] . I think I deleted Windows.old already , so now I can't recover the original driver . I did a search but can't find anywhere .
