It said the computer needs to be turned off to prevent further damage to the computer. Then its restarted automatically. And its fine now. But i want the reason for that error message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy computer locks up randomly and the screen turns black and unresponsive, at least once per day, forcing me to do a hard reset. There is no BSOD or Minidump created, although sometimes (maybe 75% of the time) there is a dump file created in the LiveKernelReports folder. The dump files in LiveKernelReports always point to atikmpag.sys. I tried uninstalling all video card drivers and using driver sweeper, and letting Windows use default graphics. I continued to get the same freezes, except no dump files were created at all in LiveKernelReports. I then reinstalled the ATI drivers, and the symptoms persist, now with dump files again pointing to the same atikmpag.sys.this only happens when the system is idle for a while. I never get freezes when actively using the system, but if I return to it after an hour or more, it's just a black screen and I must do a hard reset.I am running Win 7 professional 64-bit full version, 8 gb ram, 1gb ddr5 msi video card.Another strange symptom: After the hard reset, the computer has deleted all of my IE cookies. It also has forgotten the IE window size after these hard resets... very bizarre. In fact, if I make any changes to the desktop -- for example, by moving the icons or re-sorting them by name -- Windows doesn't remember this either. On reboot, it reverts to whatever I had on the desktop before making the changes. This does not happen on a normal restart/reboot. If I do not wait for it to crash, and instead I reboot normally, all of my settings/cookies/window sizes are preserved like you'd expect.
I've tried the following:
- ran memtest86, no errors after 9 passes
- ran seatools hard drive diagnostics, no errors found
- ran Hot CPU Tester 4, no errors found
- reinstalled/reseated graphics gard and memory sticks
- running with a single memory stick (same crashes occur with either memory stick)
- the windows memory and hard drive diagnostic tools, no errors found
- When running Driver Verifier, I get the same freezes, and still no minidump or bsod.
- Disabling all power saving options both in Windows and in the BIOS, like sleep mode, hibernate, etc.
- Updating all drivers that seemed out of date and upgrading bios to latest firmware.
Prime95 and furmark run without issue, and do not crash the system (presumably, because the system isn't idle when they are running). Idle temps (~30 degrees C) and temps under heavy load (about 60 degrees C) are well within the normal range. If I run in safe mode, it does not seem to occur, but I'm not positive because I've never stayed in safe mode for more than a day.
[URL] Like the title says, blue screens occasionally happen during shutdown. I'm using an HP 8200 Elite SFF. Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 (x86).

View 8 Replies View Relatedbeen awhile since i been here but im back sadly and worried...So ima explain best i can what i did that maybe caused the BSOD. First off my cpu is OC but barely and no voltage changes and has been that way for 3 or so months. By default it runs at 3.8Ghz and i just OC it to 4.0Ghz and its been running that way fine for months and its made to be OC way more so i highly doubt its that. 2nd. I do have dameon tools and i see alot of ppl say that can cause it but again, its been on pc 4 ever and never had no issues with it and it rarely gets used but it still does get used here and there.3rd. I installed some codecs yesterday to try to get sony vegas to read a video and i probably installed 3 different codecs and some were named the same and it was the coded for a h264 or something like that, i already uninstalled that.
4th. No major changes have been made to pc, no recent windows updates, program installs or nothing has been done. Only thing i did most recently yesterday was upgraded a widget for reading GPU and its called GPU meter.5th. Finally and im scared this might be the issue is i noticed on sony vegas ( video editing program ) that it likes to max out all my cores and i noticed the temps reached 90-94 on my cpu which really scared me but ive only used this program twice but i was thinking maybe it was damaging my cpu but not sure. The last thing i was doing when it BSOD was i had a video uploading to facebook and firefox was open and a little dialoge box telling me how far video was done and apparently it got finished and i went to get drink and came back and BSOD was up and the pc didnt auto restart like it did before, had to force shutdown and restart.

I dont know how long before my system will crash again. I just upgraded from 32 bit to 64 bit windows 7 a matter of hours ago, and this never happened in 32 bit (had it for 2 years)...My comp has crashed twice in last 10 minutes with the following error log that will show up when I reboot

I faithfully follow the advice for posting in the blue screen-crash region.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm getting a blue screen of death right at my welcome screen. Here is the following error:
-Stop: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880042E3443, 0xFFFFF88003554128, 0xFFFFF88003553990)

I'm assuming it's a BIOS driver problem, but i'll leave it up to you guys to tell me, you're the experts :P I also tried doing a system restore, but for whatever reason when I try it just says the restore is initializing and it sits on that screen and never does anything. I've left it for about an hour before and still nothing, not real sure what the problem is there either. Right now I'm running the laptop off safe mode with networking and it's working fine, hopefully it's just a driver problem I can fix.
I'm on Windows 7 32bit and let me know if you need any more information.
my Toshiba Satellite C655D wont reboot it gets to 95% and says error then a blue screen pops up and says it is crashing . Is there anything I can do to repair it . I dont have a repair disk.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to get a crash dump opening certain folders, usually was one of my car picture folders, recently it's my downloads with my minecraft etc in it.. I've run check disk but it happens over and over and over, never fails. The bug check is as follows 0x000000F4 (0x00000003,0x87558828,0x875899 4,0x8321CD60)When it runs check disk it deletes thousands of orphan files it tells me, 12kb in bad sectors, deleting corrupt file record segment 37572, deleting index entry for a ton of dll files. Also since this started my computer is convinced it isn't genuine windows when it really is..

View 8 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to create another partition so i can run windows 7 or xp, am following a tutorial on Internet showing how to do this and everything is working great until i click finish on the new simple volume wizard. then the pop-up appears, warning that clicking yes will change the basic volume to some other volume (dynamic i believe) and that i would not be able to start other operating systems from it. i click yes anyway.now disk c is labeled crash dump when it was previously labeled as a primary partition. and the header bar by disk 0 is now green rather than blue (i think it was blue).new volume (f is the new volume i created.i tried system restore but this computer has only been running for an hour and we have not created any restore points yet.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently re installed windows 7 from my windows 7 disc.Hard drive was formatted.Worked fine for about 4 weeks then it crash dumped. When i re start the laptop it goes to windows error page and goes to system repair or start windows normally. Either of these starts windows then goes blank and re starts. When i go into the bios and boot from a disc it starts windows but then the windows screen shows but it has no start up and just freezes. I have tried to re install windows again and it get to the language settings page and the goes starting windows and it does not do anymore just stays on the strating windows page.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have recently had a BSOD crash.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt can be any game from something like Minecraft to Battlefield 3 which causes problems for me. The first conclusion I could make was that there may be a problem with my Video card as playing high end games like BF3 can be very demanding on the average computer. I have updated drivers and tried to fix it to no end. These BSODs seem to happen at least 1-3 times a day. The crash dumps can happen both when starting up the game or while I am playing it. I don't know whether any of this information is useful or whether it is even related to what can be seen by analysing the files from sf-diagnostic. All the files needed should be attached.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had three BSOD's in three days now all while playing either Skyrim and Dead Island. I have the three individual crash dumps attached. The video card I am using is new to the system and has had its drivers updated to Nvidia's latest (not those from the manufacturer's homepage). My guess is that I'm either having some kind of conflict with drivers here or that my PSU is inadequate but without being able to decipher the information in the dumps I can't tell. BSOD's are not my specialty at all but I don't want to simply ignore this.

I tried searching first but I seem to have trouble finding the proper terms to narrow the search enough... So I just post this.I put together a HTPC for 24/7 usage (windows media center and iMON remote control, spotify, PowerDVD for Blu-Ray movies). Minimal amount of additional software installed. The problem is it locks up often. The whole Windows 7 goes fully unresponsive (all you can do is power off -> on). It rarely stays responsive for 48 hours. No crash dump is generated. The event log shows nothing special, mainly two error items, one related with errors on Microsoft Security Essentials and the other is Circular Kernel Context Logger session failing to start. The main question is: what is there to do, is there a program that could monitor which other program seems to halt the system? I'd hate to go through eliminating each and every software/hardware component... The second question is: just in case, does anything below ring any bells what might cause the problem?

My wife's laptop has developed a bad habit of randomly locking up to the point you have to hold the power button to shut the laptop off. I'm just wondering if it's possible to get Windows to write a crash dump off events like that, or is that at the point where it's just not going to happen even with the correct options selected?
The laptop is a HP G62 Notebook PC running Windows 7. More exact information can be provided if needed.
i have recently had a crash dump file appear in c:windowsminidump.i am uploading it here, for those who my wish to review it.however, i cannot specify what the cause of thes problem my have been.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just started having BSOD's very common once a day. I haven't changes any hardware, so I believe it is software related.
