I have been having BSODs for over 8 months now. I could endure it up till now where it happens like 6 times per day. I think it started when i started using my iPod nano but that is just a hunch.

I have been experiencing bugcode_usb_driver BSOD errors for a few months now, and I haven't been able to find a solution. I have bought and installed a new harddrive, and also did a clean install of windows on that new hard drive.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI get a BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER error all the time. I uninstalled all the USB drivers and rebooted. The new driver version for the culprit driver (USBHUB.SYS) was installed (it was a 2009 version before the uninstall and a 2011 version afterwards). The blue screen problem happens any time (meaning I have not seen it crashing on using a specific application). Also it is not immediately after the laptop comes up from hibernation or sleep mode.Lately, once I reboot the system after this BSOD I also face a fltmgr.sys bsod error as well.

I have also done a clean reinstall of my OS but the problem persists.
I've received 3 bsod the past 2 months, i don't really know where they are coming from but maybe its cause i rarely turn my Laptop off all the way. i usually put it in sleep mode. Partition C is still reachable, browse, open soft. etc.Dell diagnostic boot tool, found an error on HD "error code 2000-0142".I prefer not to format the hard disk, I have important project stuff related to my work on the second partition. and yes, am a real jackass I didnt make any BACKUP of the data, so am quite lost here..
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my settings for Windows Update, to let it check for updates, but now it always asks for a restart. I tried almost every solution, i don't know what to do, i need SP1 for SQL Server 2012 to work, but it's not installing. I even downloaded the update from microsoft's website, but the installer fails. I tried almost every method i found :
- setting it to never update, then setting it back to automatic
- deleting the registry keys from the Update-er
- deleting the files in SoftwareDistribution
- trying FixIt (normal and aggressive mode)
- trying the FixIt method manually
- renaming the edb.log file in the SoftwareDistribution folder via safe-mode.
I can't give you an error number, since it doesn't show one.

This computer is 4-5 years old. Originally had Vista installed. Did a fresh install of Win 7 Pro x64when I bought the SSD drive.
In the last several months I have been upgrading it:
Installed 8 GB of 800MHz RAM - 4 months ago Installed a Crucial M4 SSD drive - 2 months ago Throughly cleaned all fans and the computer - 1 month ago Replaced Power supply that had failed - 2 weeks ago
This has been driving me crazy for quite a while. Before I replace the motherboard and cpu I wanted to see if someone could decipher the log files for me.
I have played with the BIOS settigs quite a bit. It may be time for me to return to default values..
I have Windows 7, 6 memory 650 HD, quad core -2 year old hd computer. ISP CABLE 12 m speed - On net speed tests , i get 10 to 20 download speeds. I am using 335 g with, with 249g showing as still available for a total 584COMPUTER is running very very slow on net and non- net, with occasional hang ups that last sometimes last as much as a minute. The Hang ups are more frequent on non- net and I sometimes get the no responding.We checked everything that could be using extra resources and it made very little differences We discovered one potential problem and I seek your advice on this matter-- In the info drive properties , The box that says says " COMPRESS THIS DRIVE TO SAVE DISC SPACE " was CHECKED.A friend said that if the g's are uncompressed , my 335g could possibly be double and the drive is overloaded causing the computer to run slow everywhere- He suggests that I just go buy a new 2 tb hd and move all my stuff over and keep the existing hd as a partial back up.I am extremely hesitant to remove the check box for fear of what could happen.I do happen to have everything backed up via external hd including the Operating system , but putting that in motion is something that I would like to avoid.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi decided to bring over my big backup drive last night. after connecting it i was getting some strange happenings. icons in the taskbar to the left were missing and the clock moved up to October. i then noticed problems with web certificates for gmail and google and other sites as well. it was quite frustrating! i was glad to figure out it was the clocks fault. but i am still feeling the the effects. games i play on the net don't seem to be following that the clock is alright. they continue to complain about invalid certificates and whatnot. i'm having problems reinstalling flash too. it's amazing how much of a problem this caused and is still causing! i hate to be rushy but i want to get a hold of these things as soon as i can. but i know it takes patience too. i'm not sure what else to do. luckily the offline installer for flash seems to work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedPeriodically, lately it's at least daily, my mouse cursor freezes and the computer becomes unresponsive requiring cold boot. This sometimes happens even before I log on if I boot up and don't log on then come back later, the mouse may be frozen. It also happens while in idle and screen saver is running. I was running in Safe Mode w/ Networking today and it also happened. The mouse I was using was a MS Wireless Mouse 5000.
That one would just freeze. I accidentally destroyed it and am now using a MS Wireless ARC mouse instead. The only difference I notice is that the ARC mouse will occasionally pause the cursor in a spot for a second or two and then continue. However, it also will eventually freeze and lock system. Not sure how to identify where the problem is. I've updated the NVIDIA driver recently to the latest one.
I am writing this right now because after the last BSOD it said "Windows can not start" and I had to restore to when it was previously working. So up until that point this is what I did.Since working with computers almost my entire life I know most BSOD are due to either bad memory, drivers, or bios. I started there and updated my nvidea drivers but it happened again. I moved to the motherboard bios.I did find a newer one on there and using ASUS tool I flashed the BIOS. Same thing still happened. Next I ran memtestx86 for 8 hours and it returned no errors.At this point I just decided to look for newest drivers for everything. One thing that happened consistently was that my wireless USB adapter from Cisco had to be unplugged and plugged back in for it to work. I went there first, reinstalled the drivers but still the same thing. I thought maybe it was my hard drive. I downloaded Seagates Utility tool and ran all the tests and they all passed fine. I ran defrag just for good measure along with windows version of the mem test and that passed as well. I still continued to get the BSOD and I have to tell you I'm irritated and also stumped.
Next I moved onto software. I have been using AVG free for years but I know virus programs do some crazy stuff and I got rid of that. Turned on windows defender. I decided that since the wireless adapter didn't work after these crashes maybe lets just go to a direct wired connection. I disconnected the cisco wireless adapter and I'm just using a direct connect right to my router.These come at random times.. nothing I do can trigger it. It can stay on for days and not crash and then there are times it can be up for 10 min and crash.Some of you might notice that in the CPU-Z screenshots I had to take the screenshot with the error underneath. Every time I chose either of the two slots it crashed the program.I have not done anything internally besides add some neon to my computer which does not connect to the board at all.I have seen IRQL blue screen once so I even went as far to go into the power settings for windows and make sure the usb and everything never went into any kind of "standby" mode.
I believe this is still under warranty and I would like to go in with good information if I need to challenge and get new hardware if that's what it is.On a side note I have not touched the memory physically. I know some suggestions were to reseed the memory and chip but In my opinion something that has been working for months that never moves off my desk and is never basically touched besides the power button shouldn't mean something just came loose after 4 months of owning it.Again that's just my opinion. I have removed AVG, Ad-Aware, Some webcam motion detector software (which was a joke) and the only thing that was really installed was Skyrim.

This started happening last night while i was playing Borderlands 2, it has happened at idle, playing just about any game in my library, during downloads and just browsing the web. I changed all of my accessible drivers, and it continued to happen, so i moved all of my personal files onto my external HDD. I re installed windows on my SSD (did not reformat) and reformatted my HDD. I re installed my drivers, re-enabled SLI and it ran fine for about an hour, just downloading WoW, and then happened again twice.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

Driver is not newly developed, but has had some recent changes.My client has a puzzling BSOD on one x64 machine after about 18 hours of successful operation. My x64 Win 7 machine runs fine forever. Client's box crashes in seemingly random places that indicate mem corruption.Mem test on machine was clean. Minidump is attached. Windows will sometimes load to the desktop and I am able to watch video, run windows score, check email, etc before it will BSOD. Other times, it will BSOD before getting to the windows login screen.When I use safe mode, it logs in and stays there - no BSOD.I have tried removing all extra hardware in the machine, however this has had no affect. I have also tried one stick of RAM, then another, both BSOD.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOver the past months I have encountered a BSOD roughly every month and I want to get rid of it. The BSOD happens at random (at least as far as I know), not with specific tasks.This morning I started looking for the error and found that turning verifier ON might help in identification. I did this and rebooted a couple of times, every time with the same BSOD occuring during the boot stating something about dne64x.sys
