BSOD After New Install Of Windows 7 - Menu And Browser Navigation Slow
Sep 24, 2012
Did a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit on new SSD (old computer) and having slow operation issues and have had these two BSOD. Computer boots up and shuts down quick and also downloads programs, and such fast, but navigating through menus or browser windows - ultra slow.
My computer has been running slow for months, but it is now getting to the point where it is almost unbearable. For example, just clicking on a folder to open it can take up to 15 seconds to respond. It also lags a ton during internet browsing.
I have Windows 7 on my computer. On the top of an internet screen I used to have the words "File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools, Help". But for some reason I lost those words. How can I get that toolbar back?
I Can't seem to figure out what went wrong. I think it needs a Device driver update of some sort. I am running Windows 7 64 bit off of an original MS DVD that was installed only about a month ago. I built this system a little over a year ago. I have since pulled some memory sticks (sent for RMA) as they gave me random BSOD because of memory errors. When I try to install updates it gives me a BSOD. I have tried to do a system restore but it says it is unable to complete. Any Ideas? See attachment for dump files.
A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run your computer might become unresponsive. Stop running this script? check yes or noThis is happening (or at least the only place I have seen it) just on Facebook. I honestly dont understand what it means, and is there anything I can do about it?
I've just got a brand new laptop (Sony Vaio). I'm trying to connect to the internet through my existing home wireless network which a Macbook, Macbook Air, Toshiba Windows 7 laptop and iMac in the house can all connect to and access no problems.I've got an ADSL modem set up in bridge mode and an Airport Extreme as router and wireless access point.I can connect to the router fine. I am assigned an IP address fine. When I open a browser window the internet is very slow or times out. When I ping the router it usually times out or I get a very high ping.I've tried so many things to fix it I'm getting desperate! including:
-Disabled and uninstalled firewall and security software -Changed wireless channels -Disabled Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter -Setup a static ip and specified dns server
I am having a problem with Windows 7 Pro. My machine's slowest functions are waiting for ascreen to scroll, switching between different windows, and other "routine"operation commands. <div> I have run defrags, system optimizers, registry optimizer, removed temp files and cleaned the HDand other things, but the fact remains that my system slows when trying toexecute simple commands like "scroll!" (Have even adjusted scroll from the control panel options).<div> Am running with 2GB RAM, a slow 4500rpm HD of 250GB and anIntel Core 2 processor.
i've had this problem of google chrome at times crashing. once it does it that first time, it will continually crash if i try to open it about 3-4 times and then bsod my computer. it only happened once i think in january, and then went about 2-3 weeks without issue. recently, though, it started happening again. after the first crash of chrome nowadays, i get this weird 'right-click menu ghost,' where the first item i select after a right click will stay on my screen above any other window (but it will not do this if chrome hasn't crashed). i tried going around the issue and just use firefox instead, but firefox seems to be giving me weird flash-related crashes (i think). i'm not sure what is causing the chrome crashes, though. the same pages that crash firefox once will crash it again, but not always the case with chrome, so. firefox crashes also won't bsod my computer from what i notice.
i've run the memory diagnostic that windows 7 has and it doesn't seem to be a memory problem. i've done whatever spyware/malware/virus scans i know of (which, admittedly, isn't much) and it doesn't seem to come up with anything either. i'm at my limit of things i can try by myself...
edit: not sure if this has been the pattern the whole time, but the past two initial chrome crashes had an antecedent something like this:tab 1 contains a Internet video playing, and is the inactive tab. tab 2 contains an embedded (not sure if this part is relevant, but may as well add it) Internet video. i click on it to get it to start playing, and while it's loading, immediately switch back to tab 1 and pause my other video. chrome freezes and crashes, and from thereon will crash if you try to restore the tabs. if you start a new session, it will crash in a few minutes even without any Internet videos.
i have bought this notebook for 1 month. my computer will show me a black screen and completely freezes when i play video on browser -Internet (chrome, firefox, etc), however not always. but when i play video video on media player classic, windows media player, thats works fine.it does not happen everytime. sometimes i can go by days without any problems, sometimes i have it several times a day. the only constant is that it happen when play video on browser.

Is Windows 7 x86 (32-bit) or x64 the original installed OS on the system? What is the age of system (hardware)? <1yr (Approx 8 months) - What is the age of OS installation Same as above CPU? i3 550 3.2GHz?
2 ACER X223W monitors Having an issue where I will get a BSOD while watching videos. Have tried onboard video and 2 different vid cards and it happens every time. The onboard video was designed to support dual monitors as well as the video cards. Current video card installed - evga GeForce 210
I've been using Win 7 x64 for about a month and a half, and up until about a week ago, it was fine. But suddenly, when I open the start menu and start typing the name of a program, it takes a really long time to search for the results. They used to start showing up as I was typing. Now for example, if i type in 'calculator' it takes about 20-30 seconds before anything appears. When I watch task manager as i type, the cpu usage goes up to 50%, one entire core! I fiddeled with the indexing so it was only indexing the Start Menu directory and the Users directory, as well as rebuilding the index a few times. This happened suddenly as well: there was no slow degredationnote: other than this, performance of windows and other apps is excellent. Also: I've definitely installed a lot of software in the last few weeks, but no new hardware.
I Just bought a new computer, had windows 7 ultimate 64 bit installed and some ususall programs, but I am getting bsod whenever I open any internet browser, such as internet explorer, chrome, or mozila. Then I tried to run it in safe mode with networking - still crashing, but in safe mode works perfectl. I'm thinking that the problem is some old wireless driver. This is the error msg I got:

Also, when I see the blue screen, I read that the driver "anodlwfx.sys" (System security filter, or something like that) is causing the problem for every bsod, I removed the file from windows folder, and computer worked perfectly, but I coudn't go to the internet, the used system restore, to restore that missing file.
Hope this is in the right section. My quick launch menu takes up to 2 minutes to populater (even when there is no other software running). Once it has populated, then it will work again instantly.
I have my windows 7 set up so that when I click on Start and then Control Panel a drop-down menu appears with my choices. I have a relatively fast computer. Intel Core i5 760 with 12G if RAM. To many this is indeed fast.
When I click on Start--> Ctrl Panel it will take about 3 seconds to open if I just hover my mouse over it and about 2 seconds if I click on it. Meanwhile my previous XP old PC did so instantaneously. So how could I get the drop down to go faster? (BTW all other drop down menus are quick to open.)
I recently noticed that my desktop icons (8) and tray buttons (7) were re-populating a lot and werent that nippy either... so I tried the MaxCachedIcons hack AND then changed it to Max Cached Icons as I read the first one doesnt work... anyway nothing happened and I noticed that my Start Menu Icons are slow to populate (about 4 per second) and the ADMIN TOOLS link i have on populates now at 1 per second??
ive since deleted the Max Cached Icons from registry and im left with this problem..
its REALLY annoying cos it shouldnt be doing this and ive only recently re-installed Windows 7 32-Bit (from 64-Bit) to see if it fixed another problem I had with high DPC/ISR usage when copying or downloading files.. which didnt work... ive been told its a Windows 7 bug but dunno about that.. anway thats another problem for another time, right now i want this cache problem fixed..
Was just doing normal stuff on my computer today. Had 3 browsers open, Magic Jack, Skype, Word Doc, and Microsoft Money open. An error screen popped up but I didn't think too much of it. 30 seconds later I got a blue screen. I let it go through the process to restart. When I logged back in, it blue screened again. When it came back up I went into safe mode to look at the event viewer. It says "The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer ROB-PC". Rob-pc is a different computer in my house. I shut it down and this one has been up since.
After I restart, or turn off-turn on my pc and go start -> all programs, Windows 7 seems to hang for 7-10 seconds sometimes, then the list appears. After that first "load" of the programs list, it opens normally. I have indexed the start menu, as well as the rest of my drive. Any ideas about what might be causing this?
i try to install IE9 and it says i have a newer version, wont do it.i have Windows 7 64bit i am always getting disconnected, ALWAYS, IT WONT LET ME DOWNLOAD. i either get a connection lost page or a tab that spins FOREVER.what should i run as a browser.. how do i get rid of the one i have, ie9beta.? i cant find it to replace it, what is the MS number in the uninstall list in add/remove. do i park ie9 or whatever in a folder to get to after ie9beta is removed.
When i get connected it open directly to internet explorer.I have already installed firefox as my default browser(control panel) but still internet explorer appear first. What can i do to ?
I have FF 17. The mouse is freezing in facebook & I find the only escape to release the browser is reboot. The same FB page works fine in internet explorer.
The BSOD happened after i tried connecting my webcam to my PC and since the computer restarted my computer has been extremely slow. The programs hang and do not respond, folders don't open instantly anymore, copying files takes 10 minutes when once it took less than a minute.Everything from web browsing to opening simple music files takes much longer and programs hang until they resolve themselves.I formatted my C Drive but that didn't seem to fix the problem. Here is an example of explorer.exe hanging. The folders are unclickable for a few minutes.[URL]
Basically I'm trying to do an install on a partition.
1. I tried using a DVD to install Windows 7 and it would go through "Windows is Loading Files" and then the "Starting Windows" icon appears.
2. After that the install menu is suppose to show, instead the background appears along with the mouse but the menu doesn't.
3. I thought maybe it was a problem with the file or disc. So I tried using another file of Windows 7, and I tried using another disc but still stuck at the same spot.
4. Next I tried to install off a flash drive and still same thing happens, the install menu won't appear.
I'm not sure if it's called install menu but basically it's the screen where you select "install now"
I have a relatively new computer, but I recently started having a BSOD problem. When I attempt to start windows normally I can get as far as the home screen, but then the BSOD flashes (too quickly to read) and I'm sent to the boot options menu.
Computers are not exactly a strength of mine, but I can follow instructions and would love to have some help getting my computer back to normal!
So im having issues with my PNY 8gb Flash drive that im trying to use to install 7 onto my desktop. The problem is that whenever I insert it into my computer and try and boot off it, (Clean install btw) even though the bios menus detect the drive when I boot it acts as though it didnt insert. I need my desktop.
-Windows 7 Ultimate x64 -Original OS -Full Retail Version -Computer is about 2 years old -OS was installed about a year and a half ago (Motherboard: GA-EP45-UD3P) (OCZ Reaper RAM 2x 4GB sticks) (Q9650 CPU) (GTX 460 GFX) (Creative Soundblaster X-FI Fatality Pro SOUNDCARD)
Per-BSOD Posting Instructions, attachments have been linked to the post with relevant sys information. Also I have a large MEMORY DUMP file that wasn't able to be attached due to its size. Able to provide on request. The other day I spilled a cup of tea on my computer. Ended up having to take it all apart and clean each component.
My computer has been acting like an idiot the last months, freezing a lot, sometimes resulting in a BSOD.
Notable programs that seems to initiate these freezes are Google Chrome and something as silly as pushing the start menu button and searching for something.
Im running Windows 7 professional (64bit) and recently installed IIS. Now my Windows takes a long time to finish booting before I can use any applications. The HDD spins flat out for a very long time before Im able to do anything.
on friday i got hit wit some ransomware got rid of it and now it seems like my PC has gotten worse since it takes sometimes up 10 minutes to start up and i have already seen the BSOD on two occasions.so whats the problem do i need to do a full on recovery, by a new pc or can this problem be fixed. i am running windows 7 hp 64 bit I believe
First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation
I have a fairly new laptop that suddenly, for two weeks ago went VERY slow. The start up time has increased from about 1 minute, to about 5-6 minutes. And it is generally slower, and freezing occasionally (The ones that freeze the most are programs like flash player (while browsing) and "explorer".) Although it gets faster after a while, it hasn't been as fast as when I got it. And not only that, for about 4 days ago when I was about to go to bed, I turned the "sleep mode" on. (It takes about an hour or so for it to run faster, and not freeze as much.) Anyways, it usually takes some time for the sleep mode to turn on, because of the laptop being as slow as it is. So I had fallen to sleep before the bsod had occurred
