When I ONLY play game OR ONLY copy files, everything is OK. But, when I try to force machine to copy AND play game in the same time, system crash.There is a 2 minidump files, one i tried with Skyrim, other With Fallout.
I've just began to get BSODs after playing these video games, and I have no idea why I'm getting these problems. I personally and not familiar with reading dump files?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just recently built the computer listed in the specs part of my profile, and have only ran into one issue. When I record my gameplay on Battlefield 3 with Fraps, after I finish the recording and click to exit the game I get a blue screen, this is the absolute only time I get a blue screen and it happens every time. I checked the event viewer but there was so errors leading up to the crash and no information except one that stated the computer recovered from the crash. The only constant I find is that it only crashes when I am using fraps and when I am only a voice chat service, in my case skype or ventrilo. I am currently running the Memtest86 on that computer now so I can't retrieve any of the BSOD information, provided that there is any, but so far I have no errors showing on the memtest.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy network consists of three Windows 7 machines right now, two of which are functioning as Media Centers hooked up to TVs. The other is a laptop that is used as a regular PC.
One of the Media Center PCs functions as a server with all of the music and video files stores on multiple drives. The other computers have mapped drives to those shared folders on the server.
On the laptop, Windows Media Player adds all of the music from the server just fine, and it can play on the laptop, but when I try to use "Play to >" my media server (which is hooked up to my sound system) I get the following error:
"Failed to retrieve media information."
"Play to >" works perfectly with locally stored files.
Is this a known limitation? Are there any workarounds? It would be nice not to have to Remote Desktop to the server to play music (I like to play music without the TV on or using a remote ).
Lets call upstairs computer "A" (has windows 7 X64), Downstairs computer will be "B"- has windows xp.When I try to copy or move video files (350 MB and above) from"A" to "B", operation starts but hangs after a while and then I get this error:"there is a problem accessing [path of "B" destination directory]. make sure you are connected to the network and try again."This happens when I try to copy files to ANY of my drives on "B" (internal or external). BUT it does not happen when copying small files.There is enough empty space on destination drive.I'm using cable lan (not wireless), and have tplink router (TL-WR64XG).I also tried to reset router settings to factory settings with no luck.

I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.

BUT! When I start to copy files ( like films, music and etc large one) my entire omg fast crazy pc slow down and become really slow!!! And speed over Ethernet is 2 mb/sec or 2,3. Ok, leve the speed it's Over wifi so w/e. I tried to set up netsh rss enable, autotuninglevel disable, chimney enabled . Did link Speed & duplex auto I can remove ipv6 but home network require it.

Then I bought, Dragon Age in Steam, and started playing, after 5 minutes the game became the most laggy thing in the world. Ok, I thought it was something with dragon age. Installed GTA IV, installed the patch, same thing, after about 5 -10 minutes the game starts to lag.
After searching a lot of foruns in the net, i realized that everybody seems to have problems with gaming in Windows 7, or the game crashes, or graphics problems.
I tried compatibility mode - same
Tried tweaking nvidia options - same
Tried tweaking games options - same
Installed more three games to test, all have the same problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI Have a game to play online which I run using a script (*.bat).sometimes I host a game and sometimes I don't...(by the way, I hope this isn't illegal wright? )now I've been setting up everything in windows firewall, inbount and outbound rules for that program and all that security stuff.now here are two scenarios where, one works and another unfotunately does not:
-I log in as admin into windows
-windows has UAC disabled
-I run a script
-I play the game online
Second scenario :
-I log in as admin into windows
-windows has UAC enabled
-I run a script as Administrator
-I can't play a game online cos it can't find any server
as you see in these two scenario only UAC on/off is difference.How do I fix that issuse by keeping UAC enabled?
I am trying to play an Infinity Engine game I recently purchased, Icewind Dale, in XP Mode. I decided to go with XP Mode over forcing it to run under Windows 7 with patches because the multiplayer client doesn't work on a 64 bit operating system, but installed and worked fine under XP Mode.But I can't get the game to start, and I'm not sure why. The errors I get are all involved with the movies, I actually haven't managed to get as far as the actual game menu. View 1 Replies View RelatedHow can I get Windows 7 to name copied files using the scheme "Copy of" (used in Windows XP and earlier) instead of the default scheme "- Copy", whenever a file is copied to the same directory as the original file?In other words, if you copy a file named "Foo.txt" in a directory to the same directory, Windows XP would have named that file "Copy of Foo.txt", but Windows 7 names the file "Foo - Copy.txt". I want the copy to be named "Copy of Foo.txt".There are several reasons why I prefer the XP style file name:
1. It is familiar :-)
2. I have existing files that use the XP style file names, and I want all my file copies to use the same naming scheme. I guess I can do a massive file rename across all my backups, but that would solve only one of my problems.
3. Most of my folders are sorted by name, and using XP style would sort all copies together. On other forums it has been suggested that one can simply sort by date (to get the copies sorted together), but that advice assumes that all copies are created after all other files are created, which is actually not often the case.
4. I often work with long file names, which means that the end of the file name is often obscured, unless I have wide windows (not always possible) and use lots of horizontal scrolling every time I want to select a file. Hovering over a file to get its full name is a cumbersome solution.
5. On other forums some have given the advice to always make copies in subfolders, but I often make copies or copies of copies while I work (it allows me to roll back or to check earlier versions of a file quickly, during my work), and using subfolders would slow me down tremendously (not to mention confuse me).
I know that when TeraCopy is made the copy handler, it renames files in a different way than Windows 7 does, though unfortunately not the way Windows XP did it. Also, if one installs a third-party directory program such as Opus, it asks for a file name every time a copy is made, but I need something that simply names the file correctly immediately.
I have an AMD Athalon IIx4 640 3.gig w/ 4. gig memory computer. I play Frontierville on Facebook alot. I am having trouble with computer shut down in the middle of the game. It doesn't blue screen it simply shuts down. POOOF!!!! gone. Then I have to restart the computer. I am running Windows 7 64 bit OS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs the title says, my sound drops whenever I play a game on my PC, so I turn the volume up & 20 mins later it blasts out because the sound has reset or is back to its normal level.This seems to happen is every game, I use a Realtek Onboard HD as my sound but I also went and bought a 7.1 Soundcard (Speedlink Stage 7.1) and it did the same issue, I then installed the Speedlink into my wifes other quad core PC & it is working fine, not a single issue or drop.I have ever asked some tech guys, who said it may be my AV or programs like "Steam" running in the background, but the wife uses "Steam" also with zero effects, we both use the same AV/security (COMODO Internet Security), and again she has no problems.I use Cambridge soundworks 5.1 speakers as does the missus.

The problem is when in the game the movement keys don't work. I tried to map the keys in the game and the letter keys are replaced by numbers eg. "w" is replaced by the number "7". Please help.
