I have been getting lots of 9F crashes on a HP DV7 laptop running 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium.Problem is the the minidumps are not being saved! I have set it up to save them (small dumps) and not to automatically restart. I cant debug it without them

I had 19 crashes in the past 4 month.A computer is 13 month old. The first BSODs happened on 27/12/2011. The exact statistics:
0x1A MEMORY_MANAGEMENT - happened 10 times (the 5 most recent crashes were 0x1A)
0x24 NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM - 4 times (the most recent happened 3 weeks ago)
0xE4 WORKER_INVALID - 3 times (the most recent happened a month ago)
0x19 BAD_POOL_HEADER - 1 time (2 weeks ago)
0x9F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE - 1 time (3 month ago)
I'm attaching 3 most recent dump analyses.Besides BSOD, I'm also seeing event 11 in the event log, with messages like "The driver detected a controller error on DeviceHarddisk3DR3". Harddisk3 is likely to be a WD Passport drive plugged into USB 3.0 port. The drive is used for Acronis backup.Interestingly, the event 11 started to happen on 19/12/2011 (shortly before the first BSOD).
1) I'm ruling out RAM issues. Few weeks ago I bought a brand new 4x4GB kit and replace the old RAM modules. The problem still continued.
2) I upgraded motherboard's BIOS, downloaded and installed all the recent drives from ASUS site, installed the latest AMD Radeon drivers. All with little help.
3) chkdsk didn't report any errors.
4) I used Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2011 before, and upgraded to Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 in March. This upgrade had little effect on BSODs.
5) I'm also using Acronis True Image Home 2011.
6) System configuration:
CPU: Intel i7-2600 (stock clock)
Mainboard: Asus P8P67 LE
RAM: Corsair 4x4GB kit CML16GX3M4A1600C9B at XMP speed (G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL before that)

Interestingly BSODs often happen at night, when the load is minimal. So I don't think it happens due to overheating.My prime suspects are: motherboard, fanless GPU, Phoenix Pro SDD, Acronis.
i been having a problem with seemingly random bsods and crashes (ie where the computer forcibly restarts without generating a dump file). i think the crashes happens more frequently when surfing the internet, especially while watching Internet videos, but that might be a wrongful perception on my part.

In the past few days, I have gotten many BSOD's while browsing the web, playing games, or talking to people on Teamspeak 3. Usually the BSOD/crash hits me usually an hour in while I'm doing those things in a session. Before I did get BSOD's and crashes but they were few and spread out. I never responded to them because they happened very sparsely. Now that they are very constant, I need to do some action. I have went into safe mode right now and am typing this on another computer. As for the dmp files, I didn't have the option for the BSOD crashes to save dmp files but now that that is enabled, I do have one dmp file that I can share.
Also I have noticed that sometimes that when the computer crashes, the sound becomes very distorted, the screen tears/fuzzes into a static-like image and then it just restarts. I either get this kind of crash or just a simple BSOD. It's very strange. Apparently these are considered BSODs as well according to bluescreenview, they just dont have the bluescreen. Interesting..

Things that I have done but to no avail:
- Deleted MSI Afterburner
-Deleted Daemon Tools
-Completed a Memtest86 on my RAM. No errors even after 10 passes.
-Took out the RAM sticks, cleaned and then put back in their sockets.
-Cleaned the computer for dust
-Used Ccleaner to scan for problems and junk.
-Full scan of Malwarebytes. Caught 7 things but still nothing changes.
-Done an SFC /scannow scan
-Downloaded all the major Windows 7 updates.
-chkdsk scan.
Temperatures vary but they tend to stay normal. CPU average temperature is around 40 C idle. GPU Temperature is about 40C idle, 50C viewing videos, and and may hit to around 60-65 C while gaming. Fan speed on 55%. Temperatures when computer is idle on the desktop. Screenshots included below: The first bluescreen after I enabled the computer to allow dump files. I get BSOD everytime I play Battlefield 3 and it is only in this game I get it. I ran furmark for 2 hours without any problems and I ran memtest over night 11 passes no errors. I thought it was driver related so I reinstalled windows 7 but problem still occoured. The bluescreen can happen within the 5 first minutes or 2-3 hours its all random. Most of the times the screen just turn black and I have to manually reboot the computer and sometimes I see a bluescreen.

I've been getting a BSOD every few days, usually while playing games such as Trine or Morrowind. They are all reported as DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, and are usually to be 0x03. BlueScreenView tells me it's ntoskml.exe which doesn't help me figure out what's wrong. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit. It's the upgrade version, meaning I installed WinXP on a clean, wiped drive, then upgraded it to Windows 7. I'm not sure exactly when I did this last but I think it was about a year ago.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had this Dell Studio 17 laptop for a few years now, and have ran into a few problems in the past. However, in the past few weeks, the computer seems to blue screen almost every time I close the lid and it enters sleep mode. This has not happened at all while the computer itself has been running. Here is the minidump file from this morning. All of the 8-10 minidumps since 12/11 seem to point to "ntkrnlmp.exe", if I'm reading that correctly.

Note that the system was not initially set up to capture the dmp files so all the earliest ones are missing. I presented the initial problems to the original seller who recommended sticking with MSE and uninstalling Norton 360 and I did that. Another forum suggested that Virtual Memory was the problem and I disabled and restored VM. Still having multiple crashes and I am hoping that I can get real help here. I do note that all the crashes have ntoskrnl.exe in the driver stack although sometimes alone and sometimes with other drivers.[CODE]

None of which worked. My CPU runs between 30 - 36C and system average is 23C so it's not an over heating issue.I don't know a massive amount about computers but I have tried everything I could think off.
my specs: emachines notebook intel core i3 cpu 2gb ram windows 7 64 bit browsers installed ie8, firefox 4 and chrome avg free edition installed shockwave flash 10.3.181.4 installed for ff graphics driver intel hd graphics driver version 8.15.10.2119 i'm accessing the internet through wireless internet i have been having a problem where playing flash video has crashed all the browsers i have installed. this issue has happened on multiple websites including Internet and bbc iplayer. it started happening out of the blue on 25th may 2011. there doesn't appear to be any microsoft updates added at that time and i did not install any new software on that day.
in firefox the issue happens 100% of the time. after watching for a few minutes the video starts to buffer and then the browser completely freezes up before the frame greys out and the option to send crash report appears. when i reload the page the same thing happens again. sometimes the audio will start to repeat itself with a delay of a few seconds before crashing.
in chrome, the same thing happens except the built in plug in becomes unresponsive and the browser then freezes and reports the error. ie crashes too although i hardly ever use it to be honest.
the things i have tried to fix this so far (without success) have been: manually uninstall all adobe products uninstall all browsers delete folders and reg entries for flash and delete folders for browsers reinstall software and flash run malwarebytes (no warnings or bad files). run a registry cleaner. nothing reported that seemed to be relevant to flash or media playback. uninstall flash revert back to flash 10.2 (i actually noticed a slight improvement when using 10.2 but cannot access embedded video in facebook etc so wasn't a viable option for me). disable avg and try playback unistall avg and try playback uninstall avg and windows firewall and try playback check for new video driver updated (there were none) untick enable hardware acceleration allow flash to store content in global settings i have not done a system restore and do not really want to do that if possible.
the only other thing i have noticed is that it has been difficult to install exe files from the web since this issue started (when trying to reinstall browsers etc). windows was corrupting the installers for chrome and firefox as well as the malware bytes.
I built a computer back in May...a few weeks later I started getting BSODs. They don't happen all too often, about 1 or 2 times per week.After trying to google the issue, they suggested running memtest - no errors, driver verifier found nothing, etc. So I re-installed windows, the same thing happened, I re-installed windows again, still get a blue screen every once in awhile.Then I noticed my power supply started making a humming noise, I ignored it, then one day it sparked and died. I thought that was the cause of all my issues until I replaced it with a temporary one and a few days later got another blue screen.It's always either ntoskrnl.exe or hal.dll, I didn't keep all the crash dumps from my previous installs.

I use WhoCrashed to analyze these errors but I dont know how to solve. Maybe my hardware cause these.

I bought the new PC without a new graphic card and wanted to use my NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS until I have enough money to buy a new one. I use the PC only for the MS Flight Simulater X with 3 Monitors and the Matrox TripleHead2Go (Analog). The Screen is expanded over the 3 Monitors.First of all I mentioned, that there is no Driver from Matrox for Win7 matching with the TH2G, I got bad results in resolution and frames and so I tried different old Drivers from matrox and from NVIDIA (f.e. I tried Vista64-Driver).
No chance for better graphics, so I decided to buy a new card, the NVIDIA GTX460 2048MB. It works excellent with good resolution and frames, but now my problem starts.I have only installed the right driver from NVIDIA, no other one, but I didn't de-install any other.Now, when I fire up my PC, every day there is this damned Mini-Dump. Till now, only during starting, today first time during flying.After reboot the PC runs normal.I suppose it depends on my horrible trying with drivers, but I'm not sure how to delete or change which part.Hope you can see anything in the file, if there are more necessary questions,
Had a crash about 5 to 10 minutes after boot. How long does it take to collect the data for a minidump on a 600GB dual Core? In other words when after a crash , is it safe to turn ? I cannot locate the latest minidump!

My problem is that I keep getting random BSOD crashes and this has been happening for about 2 months now.Now, my computer doesn't overheat so its not an overheating problem..It crashes at random times so if I play games it crashes randomly either after 1 hour or after 5 minutes of playing or sometimes it doesn't crash at all. It also crashes when I'm just surfing the web or watching videos but not as much as when playing games.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy custom built machine is about 9 months old. For the last 3 months or so it has been crashing multiple times per day (usually 1-2 per day). It doesn't usually crash for atleast 3-4 hours after the reboot. I can't find any thing to make it crash on demand and don't notice myself doing the same time each time it crashes. It seems pretty random.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It is the full retail version and was the first OS installed on this hard drive.
I have attached the results of the BSOD Dump & System File Collection app and the system health alert.
Got to be quick because I've already had a BSOD trying to post this. This is a new build. All new components. All kinds of error codes contantly. I've updated Bios, SSD firmware, all drivers I can find, did a clean reinstall of Windows 7, ran memtest86 twice (20 passes total) on both sticks no errors, ran chkdsk -no errors although I see one today from my bios resetting defaults to IDE instead of ACHI - my fault. Ran Driver Verifier and came up with a violation in Event Viewer but I don't know how to read it. And yes I wear ESD straps etc. when I work on it.Also no overclocking / unlocking - everything is stock / default.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Kensington HyperX SH100S3B/120G SSD. I've been getting these stange BSODs. It doesn't happen during any particular kind of activity, usually it's just browsing the web or writing documents or something.
Every time the BSODs happen, for some reason the boot order switches from the SSD to my backup drive, and I have to go into the bios and change it. But other than that, my hard drive seems to be perfectly fine functioning afterwards...what's causing this??
All my components are pretty new, so I don't think hardware failure is very likely here. I've thought maybe I should update my bios? But I'm not sure honestly. My mobo is H67MA-E35-B3 LGA 1155 H67 mATX Intel Motherboard.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been experiencing BSOD nastiness for the past two weeks. It seems to have started by one of two things. I tried to download a trial version of Corel PSP 4x. This file was downloaded at 7:30 PM on 1-10-12. I opened the file, used it a little, and went to bed. No problems!. That night, Windows downloaded a bunch of updates at about 3am. My wife used the computer that day with no problems. Later that day, another batch of windows updates was installed. That is when trouble started. The updates were:
KB2584146, 2644615, 2631813, 890830, 2538242.
What I have tried (may not be in precise chronological order): I tried to uninstall PSP x4. The uninstall crashed, leaving a partial install. I did a memory test. No problems found.I did a system restore to a restore point before the PSP install, but I did not immediately update the windows updates.Based on the reliability monitor, it looks like this worked until the updates were reinstalled automatically on 1/14. (Maybe, it is a little hard to tell.)Since then I have updated the BOIS (megatrends m4a89TD pro usb3 from version 1101 to version 1901.)Still having problems today. DMP files attached, PerfMon files attached. Misc Info per "BSOD Posting Page"Windows 7 64 bit retail version installed on new build in Feb. 2011.Other system specs included in profile.
