On boot the DOS lookalike screen stops and waits for me to allow 'Recovered Win 7 Ultimate screen. It will boot from there but I have to waut 30 seconds.How do I reconfigure so it boots directly into Windows 7?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe Auto repair was useless, and to make matters worst, I started getting the evil blue screen. After a week of headaches, I decided it wasn't worth it. So, I used safe mode to save all our pictures and my books on a flashdrive(nothing else, just so it whatever was hurting the comp wouldn't come back on). Then I decided to recover the comp so I could rid it of whatever was causing the awful blue screen. It fixed it, until recently. Now understand, I didn't put anything back on the comp(not even the stuff I saved to my flashdrive) since it irritated me so much before, so I know I didn't do anything to cause this. See, now the comp won't start up at all without the Auto Repair coming on. Even when I get the option to start up windows normally and bypass the auto repair, I still end up back on the auto repair. I'm totally lost on what to do.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI ran across an issue when I booted my computer this morning. One of the tray icons was missing that usually shows and my cursor was spinning non-stop. Not to mention nothing else worked. It was frozen, so I pressed the power button and restarted it that way,Normal, not in safe mode.I'm sending 2 Snips to show you what I think was the reason for this. gupdate is set for Auto(Delayed) start in services. When I went in there and looked gupdate was no started at either time. The first time 9:35:58am was when this whole mess started. I just happened to go back an hour later to look in Event Viewer and it was listed again and still not started with the same explanation.Would this have caused this freeze or crash and is there anything that can be done to rectify this deal? I know some people disable gupdate and everything to do with it but I do not want to get into this.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new monitor, and also a new USB to RS 2343 converter cable that both came with a CD that apparently has Drivers for the devices on them.
They don't start automatically in auto-play to load, and my reading of the file labels in the CD makes no sense to me.
So, with the CD in the drive just sitting there, what do I do to actually get the PC to recognize the Drivers in the Folder(s), and load them in the appropriate places ?
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit. For other system specs I have added them to my profile.
When I open the start menu whether it be with the windows key or mouse click a right click menu pops up and appears to be right clicked inside the search bar, I tested this by copying some text and clicking paste on the auto right click menu.
It stays there until I click something but will come back within 1 second or until I stop holding the mouse button.
WLAN AutoConfig service gives error 1067 when trying to start it. What I've tried:
Reset winsock settings
Ran SFC /scannow
Did system restore
Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers
I tried all of these in normal mode AND in safe mode. None of it worked. Then i thought the service dll (C:Windowssystem32wlansvc.dll) itself might have been damaged/outdated, so I decided to delete it and put a new one from donor pc. NOPE.It wouldn't give me access to the file. No matter what i tried, safe mode, unlocker tools, auto rename it on startup, doing everything in administrator or even messing with permissions under file properties. It just wouldn't give me access to the file.Wi-Fi was working smoothly few days ago and i literally have no idea why it stopped working.

I'm having a peculiar problem that just started yesterday out of the blue. Suddenly when I boot up in Windows 7 (64-bit), there's always an open dat file titled "win403700" that greets me on my desktop. It's of no use to me, since it's filled with lines and lines of code that are completely encrypted in notepad.After running CCleaner to clean out my registry and hard drive, followed by over two hours of sytematically uninstalling programs, disabling startup items, and then finally moving on to msconfig items under the services tab, I was able to determine that "Windows Event Log" is what causes this to pop open with each new startup. (I assume everyone has it enabled under msconfig > services.)Would anyone know why it is doing this? If I can just disable it and forget about it I will, but based on what I'm reading here, it appears to be an essential process for updating Windows: Windows Event Log - Process and Service wiki?

When I try to start the service manual then the error 1068 appear: "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start." I have tried the three steps of onopko, but this is not working to my computer. On advice of StalkeR I have add the reg files of Black Viper site as Safe as well default. Every time I have restarted my computer after adding the reg files, but both files are resolving me problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just been given a Fujitsu Lifebook S6540 running windows 7 and on the whole it is fine but it is eating the battery when switched off. Research on the internet has shown that the computer, although seeming to shut down may still be running in the background. I have therefore been into the registry and changed the powerdown after shutdown code to 1 rather than 0 which should ensure a complete shut down. I duly did this and let the computer charge up before shutting down and then left it for a day. It did not make a shred of difference and found half the battery had been used. I have read around on various things that might cause this but a lot of it has been in extremely technical computer speak that I have been unable to understand. Is anyone here able to give me some clear trouble shooting advice and tell me what may be causing this?

Basically, I'll be browsing the net, or even just doing homework on word or excel, and the computer will start to act funky. First it will freeze, from 5 - 30 seconds, mouse doesn't move, can't ctrl alt dlt, can't alt f4, nothin. When things snap back out of freeze mode, sometimes the mouse icon gets all funky, like normally if a hyperlink is hovered over it turns into a hand right? well it'll be a I cursor or it might be an old school looking hand that's all 8 bit.
It will freeze again, and usually the 2nd time it wont come undone and I usually reset my computer at this point.
I have run memtest and dskchk in dos to verify RAM and HDD integrity because I was getting lots of pc lock-ups where the only thing to do was hard shutdown.The two most recent errors i got was driver_irql_not_equal_or_less with stop: 0x000000C4,the other page_fault_in_nonpagedarea with win32k.sys error, no stop code.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I was getting a lot of BSODs (one every 10 minutes once I logged in) and it was a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and I couldn't figure out which driver it was. Finally I bought a new SSD and took my old HDD out and did a clean install of Windows in hopes that the BSODs would stop. To my displeasure, they keep coming back. I have a Toshiba A505-S6975 and all of my drivers appear to be up to date according to Windows (although they all say they are from 2009).

For about a month or so I've been getting various BSOD messages. I have ran "chkdsk" and it came back with everything being okay. I've ran "SFC SCANNOW" everything came back fine. I waned to run a few more tests (like the ones testing RAM, but with my computer not really turning on for that long now it seems like it might be too hard to do) From what I've noticed in the dump files I think "USBPORT.sys" and "usbohci.sys" are the main problems, but I could be wrong. I'm not really sure what to do now. It's got to the point where it takes a lot of attempts to just log into my computer and even then it doesn't stay on for long (no more than an hour now). I kind of gave up on everything and decided that installing debian as another OS is the next option. I reset my computer back to factory settings but no luck, I'm still getting the error!For the record I've had this computer for just over a year now, and everything seemed to be fine until recently and now it just seems to keep going downhill. I also can't give you the more recent dump files because my computer would end up BSODing half way though getting them all together, but I do have some recentish ones and it seems to be the same problems happening. However earlier today I got the 3B error which I haven't really got much before.

I put a lot of money (about $1500) into this machine so that it would last me a long time, but now I'm having some major problems with it randomly freezing. The first time this happened was once about three weeks ago, then it happened once last week, and so far three times this week(twice today alone). It doesn't look like one single thing is causing it, although 2 of the 5 times so far that it has happened, I did notice that it was triggered when I ran a program (once it was firefox, the other time it was minecraft, but I have since then run both program with no problem). Another thing to add is before my computer actually completely freezes, everything just starts lagging (mouse, etc) extremely bad for about 10-15 sec. I'll also add that I'm 100% sure a virus is not causing this, and I have run cleaning programs/defrag.

My computer's OS is windows 7 x64,it has 8 GB of ram and an Intel I5 Quad core processor 3.20 GHz.
I tried fixing the problem by updating drivers,searching for viruses,setting my pc to low power consumption,improving the heat dissipation with many fans and a new case and cleaning inside it,running chkdsk,uninstalling some useless programs and doing RAM tests but nothing of this worked.
I have had my acer aspire for about 6 months and for the past 5 months this BSOD keeps happening at random times, and the symtem reboots and then restores.I have tried various methods to stop this happening - and I am now at a loss - I have tried puting hotfix on and also restoring to factory setting, i have heard about updating the bios etc but i am not great with the technical side of things.My computer came with windows 7 on it and it no disc - so how do i unistall it and then reinstall? i am hoping that i dont have to do thi however i see no other option.i should add that i contacted acer and that they have agreed to take it back and look at the hardware, however it its a software issue which i think it is - they will charge me 80 to fix it.

When introduced a CD Rom into the drive, it has all the autostart functions for movies, pics, documents, but instead of starting the games directly, It allways ask me to open the file, movies or pics, but the game never starts automatically as It used to do in the past Windows versions, and in Windows 7 BEFORE SP1. It's imposible to play games that require the insertion of the disc into the CD Rom Drive, for the same reason.Im running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have a LG Super Multi RwDVD +R DL Light scribe multirecorder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.
Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.
So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.
Auto check comes up 4 times right after windows7 starts up. But will continue to boot normally. BEreg Query comes up with this.
