Any Way To Change Selected Text Color While Using High Contrast?
Jun 16, 2011
I'm using Office 2010 on Windows 7 (64bit) with high contrast theme (white on black). When I select part of the text (in a word document, for instance) the selected text is highlighted with white background color. Is it possible to change the background color and the font color of the selected text?
It seems that changes made to the "Window" colors in the "Windows Color" dialog (accessible from personalization), have an impact on those colors which leads to the conclusion that those colors are computed based on those settings. I'm asking whether there is an option to modify selected text colors while still using black background and white text.
Can I change the text on the logon screen, ctrl/alt/del etc., to something black? The current white text isn't good readable so I want change the font and color, but only there.
Some how I have changed some settings on Windows 7 or IE9 that makes all my text backgrounds gray and my used links do not change color anymore. I've looked all over the Control Panel trying to find out how to change them back. I've reset preferences in IE9 but nothing changes.
I use High Contrast Black as my theme. In the past, when I would print a document, it would print normally, i.e., black text on a white background. Some time ago, tho, my printer began to print the document as white print on a black background! But here is the strange thing: if I copy and paste my text to Notepad and print, it prints normally as black on white. Both Word 2010, Jarte, and Wordpad will NOT print normall, and I cannot find settings to change this behavior. Please note that to the best of my knowledge, I did NOT change any settings to cause this printing anomaly to begin. HOw can a person using the High Contrast BaBlack teheme arrange it so that documents print out normally, black text on the white sheet of paper?
I have the Windows High Contast theme running on my computer and I really like it as it's easy on the eyes. However, Firefox has a black background, can I make it so it appears in normal colours?
On one of my pc's selected text appears on a dark background colour which is hardly visible on dark backgrounds or templatesSo it's in that case almost impossible to see what you have selected.Normally this colour should be lightblue.Since this selected background colour seems to be a general setting of Windows 7, is there a way to change this into it's original state?
I have Windows 7 and no matter if I am using Chrome or Internet Explorer, the color of the text that appears is so faint that it almost blends in with the background. Instead of black text, the text is like a gray color. It is so profoundly irritating I cannot stand it! It isnt like this on all websites. For instance, as I am typing this post. The text color is black and does not blend in with the white background. Although, it could have better resolution.
When the logon screen appears, the admin account 'A' is selcted by default i.e. a border surrounding the username, everytime I've to manually select my account and enter password.
I just want my account 'S' to be highlighted by default when the logon screen appears. And no, i don't want to use the automatic login option. Just what I mentioned above.
I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer. How would I change the color of the letters and words of the newspapers that I log onto? I am presently getting a blue color but I would like to have a those words in black.
what seems like a very basic question but I have never been able to get visited sites to be a color I chose under internet options>appearance>colors. It seems to imply that it will be used on the actual web site but I want it on the page with all the links that I have just Googled a particular topic. I dont think there is a way but I minus well ask it while I am here: Is there a shortcut for last tab used? For example: Go from tab 10 to tab 2 then press a shortcut to go back to tab 10?
I am using windows 7 home basic service pack 1.I had changed the color when windows 7 loads to white color that is after i enter the password when windows is booting i had changed the color to white now i want it to be restored to black but i have forgotten how to do it if any one knows how to do it that will be great.
I just installed a new theme on my computer. The background is lighter than previous themes. Contrary to instructions, the Font color remained white, which makes reading the icons difficult. I have performed a search, but I have been unable to find a way to change the font color to black.
You know the highlight color for when you click on icons is blue, I'm not talking about the thing in the Advanced Options under personalization, but the color that highlights the icons when you click on them. I want to change that from blue to red, and I don't know how. I think there is a registry key you need to modify to do it. I did it in linux, but this is Windows.
When i go into a game windows asks me "Do you want to change your color scheme to improve performance?" and every time i click NEVER ASK ME AGAIN to no avail. I have to alt tab out of game that hangs up to hit NEVER ASK ME AGAIN and it is driving me crazy
I do a web search and visit a selected site, there after I return to the web search page. Previous viewed websites are highlighted in purple, and non viewed website are blue. Maybe I'm going color blind, but sometimes it's difficult for me to distinguish between purple and blue. How can I change the color of previous viewed websites on search page?

Whenever I set an image as my desktop background, the colors change slightly. The image I'm using is on the left, and my desktop is on the right. It could just be me, but If you look closely, you might see some odd lines on my desktop background around the bottom: Both my screen resolution and the image are 1440 by 900.
I have disabled desktop composition (and all other options form "performance options", except the "use visual styles in windows and buttons" for power consumption reasons) and I can't seem to be able to change the titlebar and taskbar color... I tried to change it in "window color and appearance", but any color I set the titlebar to be, it just stays as a pale blue. Is this normal? If I enable the "desktop composition" then I can change the color. Is there any way around this?
