I am having a problem on my HP TouchSmart310PC running windows 7 with a strange color change that has just happened. I was just using my computer and I had uninstalled a bunch of software (I don't remember which programs I uninstalled) and I turned my computer on and off after that and right when I booted my computer up it looked really funny (see screenshot below). The taskbar at the bottom of the screen turned white and some other components of the UI look like they are from windows 98 or XP. Here is a screenshot:
I am presently using Outlook 2003 on my new Windows 7 OS but I can't seem to change the color scheme of the program. I can alter the Windows OS theme but not the individual programs like Outlook and Word. They are defaulting to blue only.
I have Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 on my computer. How would I change the color of the letters and words of the newspapers that I log onto? I am presently getting a blue color but I would like to have a those words in black.
what seems like a very basic question but I have never been able to get visited sites to be a color I chose under internet options>appearance>colors. It seems to imply that it will be used on the actual web site but I want it on the page with all the links that I have just Googled a particular topic. I dont think there is a way but I minus well ask it while I am here: Is there a shortcut for last tab used? For example: Go from tab 10 to tab 2 then press a shortcut to go back to tab 10?
I just installed a new theme on my computer. The background is lighter than previous themes. Contrary to instructions, the Font color remained white, which makes reading the icons difficult. I have performed a search, but I have been unable to find a way to change the font color to black.
You know the highlight color for when you click on icons is blue, I'm not talking about the thing in the Advanced Options under personalization, but the color that highlights the icons when you click on them. I want to change that from blue to red, and I don't know how. I think there is a registry key you need to modify to do it. I did it in linux, but this is Windows.
I do a web search and visit a selected site, there after I return to the web search page. Previous viewed websites are highlighted in purple, and non viewed website are blue. Maybe I'm going color blind, but sometimes it's difficult for me to distinguish between purple and blue. How can I change the color of previous viewed websites on search page?
Whenever I set an image as my desktop background, the colors change slightly. The image I'm using is on the left, and my desktop is on the right. It could just be me, but If you look closely, you might see some odd lines on my desktop background around the bottom: Both my screen resolution and the image are 1440 by 900.
I have disabled desktop composition (and all other options form "performance options", except the "use visual styles in windows and buttons" for power consumption reasons) and I can't seem to be able to change the titlebar and taskbar color... I tried to change it in "window color and appearance", but any color I set the titlebar to be, it just stays as a pale blue. Is this normal? If I enable the "desktop composition" then I can change the color. Is there any way around this?
My desktop background became solid black colors and can only select from solid colors.Even if I select image it still shows solid color and thumbnail of image inWindows 7/personalization does not work. (look at image 1 below)another problem all folder, video and image thumbnails dont work (look at image 2 belowand some of folder sometimes shows black square on it (look at image 3 below)All these happened after taking word document from usb my flash drie.Because those word documents are distorted in another computerand theirextension was .scr and i assume this may cause all these.but I use Eset Smart Security 5 and no warning and after I scanned pc insafe mode with Kaspersky 2012 and they found nothing.I tried Malwarebytes and Spybot - Search & Destroy.I also tried Combofix 4-5 times and it deleted some file but
my sister has macular degeneration and has trouble with the glare of her monitor. i want to be able to make the default screen color grey instead of white in all programs. is that possible? For example, i was able to make the screen color grey in Word and the font black so that it opens that way everytime. but that is only one program. i would like to be able to do this so that everything works that way.
Can I change the text on the logon screen, ctrl/alt/del etc., to something black? The current white text isn't good readable so I want change the font and color, but only there.
but today I am stumped. In Windows XP, there was an option to change the logon screen background color:HKEY_USERS.DEFAULTControl PanelColorsYou could change the string "Background" to any 3-digit RGB color code you wanted.(i.e., 0 0 0 = black, etc.)This color would show up on CTRL+ALT+DEL plus it would show up when you logged in remotely using Remote Desktop.Changing the logon screen background wallpaper is great when you're physically at the machine (and I've already done this), but you don't see it when you're connecting via Remote Desktop. Instead you're stuck with the OEM blue background color. The same key I mentioned above does in fact exist in Windows 7, but it doesn't appear to have any effect.
I'm using Office 2010 on Windows 7 (64bit) with high contrast theme (white on black). When I select part of the text (in a word document, for instance) the selected text is highlighted with white background color. Is it possible to change the background color and the font color of the selected text?
It seems that changes made to the "Window" colors in the "Windows Color" dialog (accessible from personalization), have an impact on those colors which leads to the conclusion that those colors are computed based on those settings. I'm asking whether there is an option to modify selected text colors while still using black background and white text.
I upgraded to Windows 7 Prof yesterday (from XP Prof) and now i m exploring features in Windows 7.I notice the color of WLAN in the bottom right color of my taskbar is showing as white which is not very good to indicate the signal strength. i would like to ask how can i change it to green.I do not want to go Control panel -> Personalise to change the desktop theme or color scheme as this will change all the icons color. I just want to change the WLAN icon color.
