I downloaded an ATI Graphics driver from the sony website then when I launched the installer, it says: "checking system information.." then after that something will pop up saying "an I/o error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by a bad installation media or a corrupt installation file." What's wrong with this? I used internet download manager to download the file, although while I was downloading it, there was a blackout but when the electricity came back I quickly resumed downloading it.
when i click format a 150 gb partition space in disk management option i recieved the following message "An unexpected error has occurred. Check the System Event Log for more information on the error. Close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer". and the drive does not appear like other drives in MY Computer?
I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).
i have a toshibio satelite model # psc16c02q00m, I've tried to reformat my computer, i have the back up Disk and when i started my computer i press F12 to get the boot bios where i made it boot from disk putting my back up cd#1 into there. it was working fine till i put in disk three, from there i got a F3-F200-002 Error said an error has occurred please press OK to turn off the computer. and that is the only option. ive tried repeating the process but now all i get to is this screen even when i try to but off the hard drive im assuming my windows has been cleaned.
I recently re-installed windows and am now trying to install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart.
I recently switched out an older Netgear router for the Netgear WNDR3300. I have a 1TB WD MyBookWorld connected via ethernet to the router. Ever since the router switch I have been having two specifice issues:While uploading videos to Facebook, the video will upload anywhere from several MB up to over 100 MB, then stall, saying it's still uploading but trust me, it isn't. I can copy files/folders from the networked hard drive to my computer flawlessly, but when I try to copy files/folders from my computer to the networked hard drive, it copies anywhere from a few seconds to maybe a couple minutes then stalls out, giving the error message: "Network Error. There was a problem accessing [\SERVERFOLDER]... Make sure you are connected to the network and try again." with Retry, Skip and Cancel. When cancel is pressed it gives: "An unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file. If you continue to receive this error, you can use the error code to search for help with this problem. Error 0x8007003B: An unexpected network error occurred.
Other useful information: on the new router, the WNDR3300, if I use WEP security, I can copy files/folders to the hard drive, no problem. However if I try to use WPA/WPA2, the abovementioned problems occur. I would use WEP and just forget the hassle, but WPA2 is much faster and more secure, so I really want to get this fixed.I also believe the two problems are somehow related, considering they both involve working for a few seconds to a few minutes, then stalling and failing. Could this be somekind of authentication or something to do with WPA/WPA2 that I'm doing wrong?
I have tried to install Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and it gave an error message of: windows update encountered an unknown error code 80246007. I also get the error message after my laptop restarts if the installation shows it supposedly installed: installation not successful an uknown error has occured Error 0x8008095. I have also tried the 3 steps to try before installing Windows 7 SP1 and I still get the above errors.I would like to know the following:
1. When we update Windows where does it store the updates. Because I noticed that each time I update I loose disk space and I am wondering if I could delete these updates once I know they work.
2. I noticed a folder in the color of purple. It is: c:userusernameApp Datalocalmigwiz in this folder it contains the following files: debug.txt, diagerrr.xml, diagwrn.xml, miglog.xml, setupact.txt, setuper.txt what is the folder for.
3.I use windows disk cleanup and ccleaner. I noticed that when you install or uninstall programs it creates a restore point and shadow copies. I clean them out once a month. Is there anywhere else that shadow copies are created and can be deleted. How about does Windows 7 has a cache where we need to delete files. How many temp folders does windows 7 create. I would like to retain some disk space back. Do you know if Office 2010 where it stores it updates and can we delete them once we know they work.
I'm trying to install windows 7 onto my HP 6710b laptop. But keep getting same error come up. (this also happens with 2 older hp laptops I have!) From start of boot with disc I get the following... Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer.

Every time i boot my computer i receive this message, after several restarts my system will load up the windows, n i can use my PC,,, n if i turn on the Pc after some hours same error message again.. have restart my system several times to get it work... What's the problem here... i think it's not hardware problem if it was it wouldn't have booted up my OS after several restarts... Is this something gotta do with registry, after messing with registry i have started to get this message, Is re-installing my Operating System only the solutions.
So, about 2 weeks or so ago my PC was working perfect, no issues whatsoever. Then about 2 - 3 days after I went on my PC and things just froze up, I couldn't shut down properly because it was just stuck froze. So I shut down using the button, but when I turned it back on I got "Disk Read Error Occurred". So I left my PC off for a while and it worked again after a few restarts, but it seems to keep coming back, my PC also sometimes freezes up.
I tried to make a small 7gb partition on a separate drive and it worked fine. I had already had this drive which is a 1tb drive partitioned as follows: 500bg and 500gb. So I booted using my xp disk and it part. and when it restarted I got the following: "a disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".
Now I can't install xp because it won't find the 7gb partition on restart and I no longer can boot into Windows 7. I tried running Windows 7 startup repair but it says:
"startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically."
The first line of the problem signature is StartupRepairOffline.
I was trying to boot windows 7 from DVD. but while installing I tried to delete my one partition to repartition it with larger size.but when I deleted that, my other two logical partition got deleted showing unpartition disk. No idea on how did this occur..I tried to create partition using XP DVD. but after copying the windows while it took restart, it showed the disk o boot error problem and I tried to boot again with Windows 7 DVD. but no help. everytime its showing the disk error message..
I'm trying to reformat my PC with windows 7 and i've made a boo-table USB which contains windows 7 on it.When I try to boot up from it it says A Disk Read Error Occured. It is not the USB sick itself as I've tried it on my laptop and it was able to boot from it.My BIOS setting indicate to boot from USB first.

have just bought a refurbished toshiba Satelite laptop from Curry's and after a few days it starting coming up with an 'error occurred during upgrade' message. It appears several times during the day. The laptop seems to be running okay otherwise, but it is annoying when it keeps popping up. I am running windows 7.
It doesn't have a recovery partition so I've burned the ISO and planned to use the Key on the OEM sticker on the bottom of the machine. However, when attempting to boot from the DVD I burned (got the ISO file from mydigitallife.info) the screen shows me the "Windows is loading files" then immediately gives me the following error.Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error...

I ran chkdisk /f with no bad sectors...I am at a loss here? I've also run AVG's Rescue CD to second check my guess that the hard disk is fine. I am not 100% sure that the CD drive is perfect, but also haven't had any issues running anything from the CD while in Windows either that I know of?

This is kinda long and I've fixed it, but could use your input. So after waking up, my parents informed me that the computer was shutting down randomly. I turned it on and "a disk error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart " appeared. It's a Sata hard drive so I checked the cables to make sure they were plugged in correctly and they were, and then I tried connecting it to another computer with that computers cables and that didn't work either. My parents not wanting to buy one online, decided to just go to bestbuy and buy one there, since we already had the Windows 7 Disk at home. I formatted it, partitioned it, and installed Windows 7 Home Premium on it and everything worked. I decided to connect the Hard drive that didn't work while the computer was still on, and it immediately started downloading the drivers it needed and up popped all the hard drive. I'm going to start transferring all the important things like music, videos and games, and after, all I can see are the following 3 things; after getting all the data we want off it, should I reinstall windows to see if my other computer will recognize it (Even though it couldn't before), format it and just use it as extra data (though since it already couldn't boot up, the ability to keep data on it may fail in a couple of days/weeks) or just put it away and not use it at all.
When I try to use the "Turn Windows features on or off" function to add or remove anything I get "An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed." I need to remove Microsoft .net framework 3.5.1
Few days ago I install a Windows 7 on my HP Pavilion dv6000. It was ok for the first two days then started to get a message saying their is an error in system 32, and wants me to run f something utility (cant remember what it was). One night the computer was running fine, and shut down fine. When I start it up the next morning on boot I got a black scream message saying "disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart" Doesn't help when I restart it. Then I burn a trail version of windows 7 onto a dvd from Microsoft website, and tried to reinstall windows during boot by pressing F9, selecting boot from dvd, but end up back at the same error message. I spend hours reading all over the net about this problem, and realize it could be one out of many problems. only understand about half the stuff I read

i am trying to create a restore point in my system but everytime i am getting this message: Error message was: "System Restore" did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed."Details: An unspecified error occurred during System Restore (0xc0000022)." i've even run System File Checker [SFC] and scan it but it shows that there is no integrity error. but after that while creating a restore point same error message was there. so,how should i create a restore point?
When I attempt to disable Windows fax and scan and internet printing client an error appears and all it says is that an error occured and no changes were made. It then prompts for a reboot as if something happened. I just did this install last week and finally have everything how I want it minus that. SP1 installed fine and no other issues. ic hecked the event viewer but see nothing in there when i try and disable the components.
I get this error when I tried to install Sony Vegas 11.I've tried a uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable and installing the 2010 version but it still didn't work I don't know what to do?
