I'm quite puzzled with this problem. I'm trying to fix a microphone to my PC (Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > Manage audio devices) and try to configure the "Recording tab". In the tab, the message says "Realtek High Definition Audio Not Plugged In".

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a system running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit which does not show any icons whatsoever when right-clicking on the speaker in the system tray and then clicking on the RECORDING DEVICES option. There doesn't appear to be any devices disconnected and none that are disabled. There simply isn't any type of device listed at all.
This particular user is about to buy and connect a USB microphone to this system. Will he run into problems with no devices listed in this area? Is there something no correctly configured in the BIOS? He is using an ASUS MB, but I do not have the model number in front of me at the moment. The sound, however, is onboard (no separate sound card installed).
I should also note to you that he has full sound capability, full CD/DVD playback sound, full Windows theme sounds, etc.
Back in the day, most mics sounded awful and your only alternative was usb mics. However, newer motherboards seem to have better onboard mic (less noise) and any old headset will do.the motherboard I have is an asus P5KPL-CM it's onboard audio is:

In windows xp, audio capture was fine. I primarily use the mic with online gaming and was really happy with how well the onboard sound recorded. Very clean, little noise. In game people said my mic sounded great and tests showed that.Went to windows 7 recently, everything is great except the mic recording is also capturing what audio output is going on (ie. the game's sound as well) I played with the nixer settings to death and can't seem to prevent this from happening. All games do it, windows sound recorder, audacity etc.I noticed there is a stereo mix tab and it has it's own recording volume which I have as muted and its recording level down to zero. This is with the front mic port but I've tried the back and same thing. This isn't an expensive headset, but again it worked great in xp. If the cables were gone it would be scratchy, not pick up the audio output. But I have a backup of this headset and tried it but the same thing.I don't have the speakers plugged in, but thought maybe the headset was 'bleeding' somehow and the mic was picking it up, but with just the mic plugged in alone it still records the audio output of whatever is playing, so it's not somehow picking up what's coming out of the headset itself.
i've tried recording to roxio, the sound recorder, and audacity. i've input Internet, a zoom portable recorder and my galaxy. it happens every single time. the recording starts very clear and between 2:00 an 2:37 the output audio starts to sound garbled. i've tried everything. can someone help me? i cannot even record my southern rock band reheasal on any program.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI understand without being in some sort of perfectly quiet environment/home studio, nothing can be perfect.That aside, I recently purchased a new USB condenser mic (cardoid) and it can pick up all sort of sounds from my keyboard typing, mouse clicks, and my PC fans. My PC is positioned about as far as it will go without pulling the plugs out. It might also be worth noting there are no speakers on my PC. I've also read there is supposed to be a Microphone Boost in my recording settings as well as a Microphone Enhancements tab? There never has been, on any mic I've used on my PC. And it's been suggested that this might be a possible fix, but I'm sort of doubtful on that.I've been thinking of investing in more audio equipment (shock mount, scissor arm, pop filter?) or perhaps returning it for a different mic altogether.
View 6 Replies View Relatedso i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!

Then sometime last year Windows installed my "Missing HD Audio Driver" which disabled all sound until i enabled the on board sound in the bios again, this of course meant i couldnt use my recording card.ll Windows and driver updates have been turned off, it still installs.After many attempts at fixes i found online I gave up until more recently when i reformatted the computer and got it working. View 2 Replies View RelatedI turned my computer on to find no audio playing. My main audio device plays bac audio from DAW just fine but if I load a video in WMP i get a code C00D11B1. If I try to play a test tone in the sound settings I get "Failed to play test tone". I have other audio devices connected and also get the same errors which makes me think this is a registry error or some windows communication error. The only thing I think might have caused this is when I was trying to get my ram to run at 1866. This is a new build and the ram should run at this speed as it is in the QVL but that is another issue. I should also mention that I have tried reloading the device drivers, updated the BIOS, and restyored windows from a previous state with no change.

I have a Dell Inspiron 546 running Windows 7 Ultimate.Last week after a reboot I got an error stating no bootable device found. I checked the Bios everything seemed in order and out of desperation I reformatted the drive and although shes runnning like new again the same error appears. If I insert the installatin DVD it boots normally.

So loaded up a older laptop from 2009, with the common issue " no boot device found". So I went pooped in the restore CDs and reloaded the OS and went through and redid everything. " thought it fixed issue" shut down and reloaded os. With same msg " no boot device found" so i pressed F2 and choose boot proprity hard drive and then it loaded OS as if nothing happened. So i thought maybe my hard drive could have issues, Did harddrive all passed, So i think now that it could be my motherboard or the sata connecter?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a drawing tablet that connects via USB to my windows 7 machine. I installed the drivers and I see the proper ones on Device Manager. Yet after it is installed, Windows 7 does an extra step and searches for the drivers. It says that the drivers could not be found. But the drivers are installed. I am looking right at them. I uninstalled that "unknown other device" manually from the device manager and restart the computer. The device works. The computer recognizes the drawing tablet and it works for a little while. But again, Windows 7 begins its automatic search thing. It does something that makes the tablet not work anymore.
