Feb 19, 2011Why does Aero snap cut off half the Windows Media player 12 video? -dual sreen display is not on. Example: When i snap videos up or to the left it maximizes.

What I would love is for a feature where the 'snap' kicks in that I could press a key (ctrl, alt, shift something like that) that would temporarily disable snap so that I can position windows where I want.Is there anyway of achieving something like this, either natively or through third party software?

Jun 1, 2012I was messing around with some custom themes (I know, I know, but I'm pretty familiar with the process and I try to take extra precautions) and for what seems like no reason, I cannot resize Explorer (not IE, the actual file explorer) windows and if I attempt to use Aero Snap, absolutely nothing happens--I can maximize, minimize, etc. though. However, if I use any other program, I can resize and I can do snap, so obviously the problem is only with Windows Explorer. Another weird issue (besides System Restore not doing anything) is that I even installed another custom theme because I figure that whatever files it gave me would probably fix up the explorer issue--and now the theme is installed but I still can't resize or use snap on Explorer.

the first 4 or 5 seconds are fine, then after that the framerate goes to 2fps.
i was running full screen video fine last night with xp.
nvidia drivers are updated and fine. i play 3d games fine.
searched all the keywords i could think of. no results.
anyone know whats broken?
just an issue with the aero interface ?

Jul 29, 2012I'm running it on my HP Pavilion g6, which has a Intel Core i3 processor@2.3 ghz, 4 gb RAM and both an ATI Radeon HD7670 and an Intel HD 3000 series video card.So the problem is that the aero effects are kinda laggy, for example when using the windows key+tab or when shuffling around the elements in the start menu. I know there is an option to select which video card runs a certain application( Configure switchable graphics), but how can i canfigure it so the windows uses the faster ATI card, rather than the Intel one?
EDIT: I also forgot to add that all the drivers are the newest versions.

May 1, 2011I just recently upgraded Windows 7 Ultimate from Vista Home premium. When I "upgraded" though I chose to completly reinstall my OS.Anyways I used to have transparency, but when I try to get that same effect it says "The current video card may support Aero with a driver that is compliant with the Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM). Contact the manufacturer of your computer or video card for a WDDM-compatible driver."and then when I try to troubleshoot it says "Video card driver doesn't support Aero effects" . I've tried the "Fix it" options, but that doesnt work. I just don't see how transperancy would work on vista but not with windows 7... do I seriously have to purchase a new video card?

Oct 18, 2009I am currently looking a way to enable Aero in my machine. (as note, currently I am missing the Aero Glass, Aero Peek, and Aero Flip.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 on the machine. Because my screen is WideScreen, at first the graphics are all large and mushy. But at this point I HAVE AERO!
Then, I installed the driver for the gfx card, which was SIS UniVGA3 v.3.85. After installing and restarting, I get the normal resolution (1280x800) but NO AERO.
I thought this was driver problem, so I downloaded UniVGA5 v5.07, UniVGA5 v5.20 (which is the driver for Windows7, according to the site), and the SiS driver update from Windows Update, all of which didn't enable Aero for me.
I am completely stumped on this. I just don't get why the heck I get Aero WITHOUT driver, but no Aero with drivers.

Sep 3, 2012I need "pfussorgproperty.dll" to run ScanSnap Manager for my old fujitsu ScanSnap scanner fi-5110EOX. This program ran perfectly on Windows XP on my 9 year old PC.I am attempting to install the program on Windows 7 Home Premium, running on a Lenovo H330 i5 with 8 GB RAM. I have the old disks, but cnnot open the cab files independently to see if the file is there. I've installed and uninstalled the old progams without the file appearing.I have downloaded installed and reinstalled the new program and updates from fujitsu, but this file does not appear. There is no information on the web site about this file and no telephone number to call for support either. Search of the fujitsu site does not produce the file or information about it. When I try to start the Scan Snap Manager, I get an error message indicating that the above file is needed. When I turn the scanner on and try to run a document through it, the document runs through and then I get a message indicating that the above file is needed.

Nov 22, 2012I downloaded an old game that I wanted to play again it finished downloading I installed it. Though it didn't install in the folder I wanted it to so I uninstalled it and started the installation again. Went through the process and put in the correct pathing D: program files (x86) it selected and smart highlighted program files x86 for me so i hit enter and the installer thought I was finished with the pathing when I was not and it went ahead and installed the game to that path.So once again I uninstalled the game and this time ... it uninstalled everything within "Program Files (x86) from A to L before I realized what was happening .. I quickly ctrl shift esc'd and canceled that process for the uninstaller and now alot of items are missing so many I don't even know what is gone.Unfortunately I do not enable system restore on any of my drives because I know malware can hide in there and some people recommend to keep it off.is there any way without using system

Jan 26, 2011I am having an issue getting my microphone working. I used to have the logitech USB mic about a year ago and that worked great, then one day it stopped working. I tried fixing it for a while but couldn't figure it out, so I gave up on it. The mic was not the problem because it worked perfectly fine on other computers. Recently a came across another brand USB mic so I decided I would give that a try also, this just doesn't work either.The problem is that when I plug it in, it recognizes and installs the drivers (USB Audio Device). When I go into recording on sound options, it shows the mic there as the default device. Now when I click it, the levels tab is just blank. Also I cannot make any changes to the microphone such as "Listen to this device" etc, none of the options will stick. If I go into windows sound recording for example, it will tell me "An audio recording device cannot be found". To troubleshoot this issue, I uninstalled the USB port it is plugged into, tried it again. I tried this with multiple ports front and back. I then tried uninstalling USB Audio Device drivers, then when I plug the mic in, it installs everything again. It does it all successfully, no errors, but then it doesn't give me a working mic.I made a video demonstrating the problem.
