I have windows 7 IE9. I am unable to see graphics on some web sites. Other sites have areas of text missing. I have upgraded abode and jave. If I have a couple tabs open, it will show on when I look at the tab but I click to open the site and it is blank again.
it took me a while to find the right driver for my ACR38U card reader, but now I've found and downloaded it, it seems none of the sites that work with it (like tax-on-web) will open. It always says "impossible to open page". I'm new on Windows 7, so I quess it's some to do with "security" in "internet options", but I can't find it.
I googled how to open ports and it told me go in to windows firewall>advanced setting>new rule etc. I want to install a game so I need certain ports to be open and unrestricted. When I used online port checker sites they all say the required ports aren't open
I have windows 7 and i am trying to open pdf files from an external cd via adobe. It keeps telling me the files are unsupported. Do I have to change something in my computer so I can read pdf's?
After downloading new version of Adobe Reader, all of my programs try to open in Adobe. System won't let me do restore and I can't open programs to include my anti-virus program.
I'm trying to open a pvs file in Adobe Reader and when I try I get the file could not open because it's not a supported file type or the file has been damaged. When I try to open in another program (Microsoft Word) I get a file conversion table that I can't make out one way or the other.
I have windows 7, and i have installed adobe. But for some reason i cannot open PDF documents. I have uninstalled adobe once then re-installed it but it still does not open them.
Up until a couple of weeks ago all of my Adobe Open Type fonts worked fine. Now I a getting a atmlib.dll error. Says it is not designed to work on Windows. Seems to have happened after a Win 7 update.
I downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldnt be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one. After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register. When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side. I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they cant be installed. It always says some files are missing.
When browsing a website that I have pinned to my taskbar (Facebook for example) I've noticed that the pages take longer than usual to load. When it does load, the page becomes very choppy when I'm scrolling up/down and is generally slow to respond. It's the same for any website I have pinned to my taskbar.
The strange thing is, If I open up IE9 (non-pinned) and browse using the address bar everything is smooth and fast. I've cleared my temp internet files and reset IE to default settings with no luck. I've also tried un-pining then re-pinning website but it's still the same. Is there a way I can clear the cache for individual pinned sites?
i have changed to windows 7 last week and yesterday noticed that i cant seem to access any secure sites, eg barclays log in page and tesco/asda payment page, (https pages). get the same problem on chrome, firefox and ie. My wife says she has used the computer to access bank account but i cant think of anything that may have changed since then.just noticed i can access gmail which is a secure site.
Have been using IE9 64 bit in every version (beta-RC-Released version). All along it has been losing the Most Popular Sites on the "New Tab".I actually enjoy this part of ie9. Wish I could actually "Pin" what I want on the page.
flash plays videos in Internet and seems to work for most other apps. but on some sites the video only shows black... the video will never start. (all browsers are affected) (i am using a 64 bit win 7 computer)
for example this site will not play and only shows black: armadebtdon 2011 - call congress - the daily show with jon stewart - 07/26/11 - video clip | comedy central
i have tried uninstalling and re-installing flash, installing 64 bit flash player, have tried uninstalling chrome and re-installing and nothing has worked, have tried terminating my virus and firewall software too.
on a few certain site, like facebook, twitter, classic yahoo mail the screen erratically flashes
i keep my PC switched on for days on end, i'm also logged onto these sites, but sometimes i get the screen flashing, nothing i can do to stop it unless i restart my PC and it's fine until it starts again, it can be a day, to a few days
i think it may be facebook, as when i'm not on this site, it seems to be fine.
do you think it's a flash problem or something else i've just uninstalled flash & reinstalled to see if it's going to help
This is the second install on older hardware (Intel 945gm chipset) within two months that has IE9 unreliability, with some sites failing to render at all.I have reinstalled flash player, Java, reset Internet Options to default, and it still just hangs there. This is very annoying. I had a similar situation two months ago and ended up installing Firefox to solve it. Is this a known issue? Is there are decent troubleshooter?
I have a Dell Inspiron 620 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and all of a sudden I cannot open any secured site and log on, such as banking sites, gmail, facebook and so on.
I just got a new laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. We have a Netgear cable modem / wireless router. Comcast is the service provider. My other two computers connect and load pages without any issue. However, my new laptop connects without issue, the browser boots up just fine, and google comes up right away.
Here's the strange part: It only loads pages from Google! Whenever I go to another website, the browser finds the start, begins loading very slowly, then stops when the progress bar reaches about halfway. Again, my other two computers ( a laptop and a desktop ) both connect fine. They are both running XP.
I thought it might be a problem with the browser, so I went to starbucks with the new laptop and tried using the wifi there. All pages loaded perfectly there without issue. That's why I'm guessing Comcast is involved in this problem.
When I got back home, I tried using Firefox 3.5 and back to the same problem. I noticed that in addition to Google, Reuters News loads as well. Skype is also running without any problem.
Any clue if there is a setting in Windows 7 I need to change, or is this something I need to call Comcast about?
i cannot view sites in the windows seven when i'm connected to vpn server!i can ping any sites with a good reply, but i cannot view sites!!!i must say that i have checked all things that i know and when i see this problem in some systems running windows 7,i found that the problem is with the windows.
Now the problem: simply put, I cannot connect to any ftp site (even tp.microsoft.com). I strongly believe this has something to do with my computer itself, but I've done endless searches on google and tried several solutions to no avail. Here is a list of what I have tried thus far:-Connecting using the command prompt. On the command prompt I've typed in "ftp ftp.microsoft.com" and it goes straight to the "ftp>" . Whenever I try to use a command the prompt responds with a "Not connected". However, if I ping the ftp server it does respond like it should.-Using software ftp clients (Firezilla, SmartFTP, etc.). I put in the necessary information and that's basically as far as it gets.-Checking "Enable Passive FTP" in IE. That did zip.
-Adjusted Firewall settings... (based on suggestions from forums and such). To the best of my knowledge, everything set as it should. The settings I adjusted were on Windows FirewallThis is what leads me to believe it is my computer that is the problem because when I use this web-based clients its pretty much the only thing that works and I am able to manipulate the files just fine. That's pretty much all my attempts in various forms and google searches. I should also note that I am connected wirelessly to my school's network, but the network doesn't seem to be the problem because I tried connecting using my roomate's laptop and it connected just fine.
Some sites like yahoomial.com are not getting opened in any of my browser. I have tried to disable my firewall, reinstalled the browser, cleaned the system everything but nothing works... it keeps on loading but never loads the page.... while from cmd i m able to ping the sites.
earlier today my wi-fi sort of cut out i guess. it will only let me access a few websites (this being one of the only tech websites i could get to work off google) like google and Internet. say i type in yahoo.com in the address bar, after i go to it, it will sit there loading forever. i'm not sure what happen'd because this is the first time ive seen this.
I am a 54 year old woman who has played games since I first had computers. My favs are Wild Tangent Games, Big Fish Games, and the Iwon site, among others. But now that I put Windows 7 on my computer it will hardly ever let me play unless I put my computer totally at risk by turning off all safety software, and checking the most dangerous things under Internet Properties. Isn't there a better way.
