View 5 RepliesIn one particular network drive I cannot open any PDFs.
* PPT - opens fine
* JPG/TIFF/etc - opens fine
* DOC - opens fine
* XLS - opens fine
* ACCDB - opens fine
* PDF - Acrobat Reader opens and then I get a pop-up "Error: Access denied."
To open any PDF I have to drag it from the network folder onto my desktop and open it from there. I can open PDFs from any OTHER network folder; it's just one specific path and subdirectories thereof where they won't open. Doesn't matter which office computer I use, I get the same error anywhere. I have R/RX/W/M (everything but full control) on the network folder. Same permissions as everyone else in my office.
I have:
* Reinstalled Acrobat reader (no luck).
* Disabled offline files (no luck because I didn't even know what that feature was for and never used it.)
* Double-checked permissions on the directory.
I have windows 7 IE9. I am unable to see graphics on some web sites. Other sites have areas of text missing. I have upgraded abode and jave. If I have a couple tabs open, it will show on when I look at the tab but I click to open the site and it is blank again.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a program that can index search huge amounts of PDF files.It also should have advanced search capabilities (phrases, list of words, dates etc) and it should have result previews.The one I came across is copernic desktop. But I didn't find the advanced search... and there were no result previews for pdf files (at least I didn't find it).The Ideal software would be like this: I put all the PDFs in a folder > Software indexed all the files in the folder and subfolders. once it's finished indexing I can enter advanced searches in the software and it immediately shows me not only the files which contain the search terms but also a preview (like google results, where you can see the search term highlighted in context)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Adobe Photoshop (Portable) and installed it. Then I wanted to change the location where it was saved. I tried to move it but it couldnt be moved so I copied and pasted it into a new location. I know I should uninstall but since I just wanted 1 copy, I deleted one. After that, most of the other Adobe programs were affected. When I opened some, they would say that some files are missing or my license has expired. Some started asking for serial number or to register.When I opened Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 it said Photoshop Elements Help was missing and there were missing icons on the right side. I uninstalled and reinstalled the programs. I downloaded some but they cant be installed. It always says some files are missing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedA 'self managed' document management system.My scanner will scan documents into PDF directly, naming them 001, 002, 003, etc. I would like to leave these assigned file names, and then just search through the PDFs when I need to find something (a particular document).Therefore, I need a program that OCRs the scanned PDF images, so that the text within them can be searched and found. Which program can I use to do this?
