View 0 RepliesI was able to activate my Windows 7 Home Premium through the phone method. However recently I attempted to activate Windows 7 on another computer and after calling the automated number and reading the code, the system is unable to verify it. However I noticed something strange. Upon trying different activation keys, the 9 segment code to be read back to the automated system doesn't change. No matter what activation key I use, the code remains the same. Could this mean something, as to why I am unable to activate my copy of Windows 7?

I've heard that downloading the Zune software should instal them, but Zune won't install because it can't find Media Player. It would be great if I could just download the Windows Phone drivers from Microsoft, but for some reason that's just not possible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a grand vision of grandeur. I'm planning on buying a Nokia Lumia 900 running the Windows Phone 7 on it when the phone comes out soon. Being a designer, I had to design a dock to plug in the phone to charge and sync and the idea came: what if I could use my awesome stereo and my awesome Windows 7 to make the dock into an awesome home phone?
What it would be is a mic built into the dock that is connected to the phone so when someone calls me, I don't need to pick the phone up. And if I can with the Windows Phone, I can have the audio out from the call be recognized in Windows 7 as in audio input and I can have my puter's audio output to my awesome stereo to hear the call from my speakers.
The stickler is, as is with every grand vision of grandeur, can it happen? I don't know for sure what to do to get the audio out from the phone to connect with Windows 7.
Specifically Windows 7, not Andriod etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedComputer: Acer Aspire 5534, AMD Athlon x2 Dual Core L310 1.2 Ghz processor, 4 GB RAM, Win 7 Home Premium SP 1.
Phone model no. not identified, but software version is vx560404.
When the phone is connected to the computer, the usb recognition sound is issued, but the "Found New Hardware" message is not displayed nor is the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon.
The phone is displayed in Device Manager (LGE CDMA Composite USB Device), and in the Control Panel item Devices and Printers (as LG Mobile Phone, LG Mobile (Modem) and LG Mobile (Serial)). However, it is not displayed in Windows Explorer (trying to transfer photos from phone to computer).
I tried running the Troubleshooter, and a message was displayed that said a problem (not identified) was fixed. Except it wasn't. Restarting the computer did not solve the problem.
I just a Bluetooth adapter, my 1st PC that has Bluetooth, and i was just wondering how do you send files from my phone to the PCThe only way i can get it to work is if i right click on the Bluetooth logo at the bottom and click receive file. In my opinion it takes forever to send more than 1 file by doing that all the time. Is there another way... If i don't click revive file my phone can not find the PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 64bit. I use a Samsung Rant m540 Cell Phone for my internet connection. I can't get high speed on my road so its a lot better than dial up. Any way I've used it for a few years and now I cant seem to get it installed. It works fine on other comps and I had a driver for win xp 64bit that works. I got it installed on the windows 7 and it shows up as the modem and says its working properly but it wont respond when I try to query the modem or connect to the internet. I am pretty sure I just need a driver for the windows 7 for the phone as modem. But Sprint does not have a driver or program which supports it and neither does Samsung which created the phone. I googled for at least 5 hours with no success ive tried a few differnt drivers and no luck.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a new Verizon LG Revere cell phone and my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit will not detect his cell phone or my old Samsung Haven.
When I look in device manager there is no listing for ports, COM or LPT. This suggests to me Norton 360 is doing something.
My laptop was purchased in 2010 and has Windows 7 Professional on it. I never had a problem until about 2 months ago when restored to factory settings, which doesn't require a Windows disc. About a month later I started getting messages all over about how Windows might not be genuine and I needed to activate it. The only option it gave me was to activate online, which when I did that I got an error.
So I reformatted AGAIN, hoping I wouldn't have the problem. Now it tells me I have 2 days until automatic activation, which I'm guessing isn't going to work because it didn't last time. When I click 'Activate Window Now', I get an error: 0x8007007B... Now right under that there is a product ID and I'm not sure if that's what I need to enter, or where to enter it.
I went to Microsoft's website and had it run its test to see if it says Windows is genuine, and it is, but I'm worried that I'm gonna run into the same problem as last time if I don't get this activated. I'd much rather figure out a way to do it online than over the phone.
I just replaced a hard drive on a Win7 machine, cloning the old drive to the new one, and it boots up fine, but tells me that Windows is no longer activated. I go through the process, but each time it tells me that the KMS server is unavailable. This machine was never in a "corporate" environment, so I don't know why it's doing this.
Is there a way (preferrably without reinstalling Windows!) that I can "force" the KMS stuff to go away, and activate directly with Microsoft?
i bought a laptop that had windows 7 original but about 4 days before , my windows had been not activate and don't let me install any program when i check status in system properties , in windows activation is written "not available". i don't want to crack it because is original.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought Windows 7 Upgrade when it came out, and upgraded an XP laptop. Worked fine. The disk got corrupted, though, and I had to do a complete, clean install on a re-formatted harddrive. So my Windows 7 upgrade doesn't think it's an upgrade. I tried to do the online activation -- didn't work. I tried to do a phone activation -- didn't work. Talked to MS customer service. They said I have to install/activate Xp or something first, then re-install Windows 7 upgrade. The problem is that this laptop didn't come with any disks, and I don't have any way to do that. So they said to "borrow" a copy of XP/Vista from someone, install that, then re-install Windows 7 upgrade. I just spent two full days installing Windows 7, updates, programs, data, etc. I sure hate to have to start all over again. Is there any other way to make this work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop (currently running Win 7 x64) and a laptop (currently running Ubuntu) but I'm having loads of problems with the 64bit version of windows on my desktop and I want to switch so Ubuntu is installed on the desktop and Windows 7 (32 bit) on my laptop.
I would only be using Windows on 1 PC but obviously it's already been activated on my desktop so would I have any problems activating it on my laptop? Is there a way to "deactivate" my desktop so I can activate it on the laptop or am I going to have to call Microsoft and hope they'll allow me to do this?
