Jun 4, 2012my acer aspire 4755g, speakers volume seems low. brought it up to the highest vol and yet it still low. is there another way to increase the volume even louder?

Apr 3, 2012I am having an insane amount of trouble with my Acer Aspire laptop that was working correctly until all the sudden the wireless went out stating that there is 'no networking hardware'I'm not sure what could cause this but two new things happened the night it went out.1. I bought a wireless signal for my desktop (I read somewhere in the Windows help files that the signal could knock out others I think it's silly but who knows)2. I bought a new mouse, tried to install it only to find that numerous people could not find the hardware for it. It went from lit up with no hardware found, nonfunctional. To not lit up but the computer still tried to install the software, no good. I feel like this problem is mainly associated with a cheap mouse because I wasn't the only one who could not install it.Those are the only two new things to happen to this laptop in the 24 hour period it went from functioning to no wireless hardware what so ever. My router is 2 feet away. I have tried removing the battery and disconnecting it from the wall, have tried turning off the signal, then on again. I have also restored my computer twice, back to a time earlier in the day when it didn't do the most recent windows update.And nothing. I don't want to say the internal hardware somehow fried but something went wrong somewhere.What is some steps I can do to try to test or fix this problem? Because Windows 7 help doesn't even acknowledge that this could happen at all nor does it say there is anything wrong with any of the devices on the laptop.Some information about the laptop:Windows 7, Service Pack 1Acer Aspire 7551AMD Phenom II N970 Quad-Core processor 2.20Ghz4G of useable RAM64 bit OSWireless Adapter: Atheros AR5B97Please note that I have also tired to hardwire this computer to my router and it would still not register that it has an internet connection nor would windows detect there was any problem with this at all.EDIT:I downloaded the drivers from the Atheros website and put them on a USB drive from my desktop. Upon putting in the drive to the laptop I found NONE of the USB drives are working. What now?

Mar 28, 2012so i have a blue yeti, and i'm an online animator/voice actor. whenever i record audio on my blue yeti (or any other mic) i record about 4-6 inches from the mic, and turn the gain down enough that the audio doesn't peak as i yell or whatever. this is what you're supposed to do if you don't want your audio levels peaking and making your recording sound horrible and corrupted. however, afterwards, it means i have really quite recordings. not a problem right? now that it's recorded right, i can boost the volume of the entire clip afterwards right? wrong. i'm not an audio expert so i must be missing something. but why in gods name would the audio distort and peak after it's recorded successfully? it's all there, it's all clean audio. if i turn the volume on my speakers all the way up it sounds crystal clear! all i want to do is do that inside the computer so that when i upload it to Internet people don't have to turn their speakers so far up. but if i increase the clips volume in the computer, it distorts! it sounds awful! why?! i tried in sony acid and audacity and they both do the same thing! i can take sound effects, and recordings made by other producers and crank them up nice and loud, but mine just fall apart!

Jun 19, 2012I have a 22' monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050px.When I am working on my pictures for example in Adobe Lightroom the UI is very big and it lets about half of the monitor space for the actual image... I know that people having bigger screens with higher resolutions have the UI MUCH smaller, and I also know that the screen resolution is physically limited so I don't want to set my resolution to for example 2560x1600px but I want to decrease the size of everything on the desktop... Like just scale it down like you can do with the icons with simply holding Control and rolling the mouse when but with the whole desktop, the mouse, the UI, the start, etc. etc.A good picture of what I am trying to achieve is when you set the DPI to 125 or 150% but I want to set it to like 50 or 75%

Jan 15, 2012Just today I decided to update my IE8 to IE9 (Win 7). There was also an unknown windows update to install (today 15th Jan 12)). As soon as it was installed (without even opening IE) my system is now using 25% more ram (about 700 of 1G compared to around 500 before). I uninstalled IE9 and went back to 8 as shown on the microsoft page, but as soon as i start windows its using 700 again. I tried rolling back to an earlier point today and still have super high ram usage. Now with just this single IE tab open im using 900!

Dec 2, 2011I recently upgraded from Vista Ultimate 64-bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I have a problem with the resolution now. The monitor I use was supported in Vista for resolution 2560x1600 but now the highest I have is 1280x800. I can't get it any higher, when I go back to Vista /same Dual-link cable, same monitor, same PC/ it shows 2560x1600 correctly, once I go Windows 7 - it only displays 1280x800. I have tried every driver update /Dell monitor3007WFP, ATI Radeon HD6950/ but nothing works. I first thought its my monitors' driver problem but after I researched online, it seems that many people have same problems with the resolution once they go Windows 7 /no matter the pc or monitor brand/. How to able to run this at 2560x1600 resolution.

Dec 25, 2009I purchased the Windows 7 Professional upgrade version through Digital River and I have been trying to install Windows 7 since last night with no luck. I downloaded the ISO file and EXE file with absolutely no luck. I keep getting an error that my current version of Windows (Vista 32-Bit Home Basic) is not compatible with the version I am trying to install which is Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit.. I tried Paul's three methods with no luck =(. The second method gives me an error message that higher privileges are required to do this.
Why isn't my computer reading any of the Windows files as a boot disk? I hope I downloaded the files correctly. I did burn the ISO file to a disk but still no luck. I am so frustrated abd honestly had I known this was going to take up so much time I probably would have just continued suffering with Windows Vista which i absolutely hate with a passion.

Dec 27, 2012I recently got a new 120gb SSD to replace my HDD. I have an i7 Lenovo y570, 8gb ram, with switchable graphics using a Nvidia GeForce 555m. Before upgrading, while playing Guild Wars 2 my performance was flawless on ultra graphics running at about 80 C and stable 50 FPS. Now I'm experiencing spiking FPS running at about mid 90's C after 5 mins on the lowest graphics settings! I updated all drivers and installed it correctly to the best of my knowledge.

Mar 1, 2012I just received a new keyboard today: Thermaltake Challenger Ultimate. I went from a Logitech G15.
First thing I did was connect the keyboard and install the software that came along on the CD, it probably also installed the correct drivers. First after this did I uninstall the software and drivers from the old Logitech G15. But before that, and now after, the volume buttons on my new keyboard is still not adjusting the volume when I press them.
A speaker-icon like this shows up when I press the volume buttons, so its not that the keys are not working: (ignore the text behind it, its me writing an assignment)
