as Im using windows 7 and the latest Windows 7 x64 drivers from ati (after installing all drivers in the latest history)
I lose my second screen(screen remains in sleep mode) after the sleep mode initiated . It seems to be a programming error in the driver...
I can get the second screen up by the following sequence simple logging out --->>
switch User ... logging back in ( it takes some time after loggging in though....
Is there a way to detect what sequence(command) is sent to the screen and if I could add that sequence in the loggin...
I've the impression service from ati is bad they've simular reports dating from the beggining of Vista and never bothered to change anyting (by the way never had such problems in XP).
I just installed Windows 7 Professional Version on my computer, it is a high-powered desktop with good specs. My graphics card is a 1GB HD Radeon 4850. I used to have Windows Vista 64bit and it displayed with a clear screen. However, after my upgrade, now the screen is all blurry and messed up. I downloaded ATI CCC and installed the new drivers and STILL, the computer screen is so blurry.
I was really looking forward to this upgrade to Windows 7, but I feel almost forced to revert to Vista because after looking at the screen for about 5 minutes, i get the worst headache ever and my eyes strain awfully.
I use 1920 x 1080 resolution and an HDMI cable, the recommended setting. If I go down to the lower resolution like 1720 x 1000 (not sure if thats exactly what it is) it is more clear, but I lose space and I feel it is still not as clear as it was on vista.
I am building a new computer and I want to go with a dual screen setup. I was wondering if I should go with a GTX 670 2GB GPU or two Sapphire Radeon 7870s. If not specifically these cards, let me know what you think. Is it better to have a single GPU with dual DVI output or two slightly cheaper GPUs using crossfire?
So yeah, everything was working fine when I was in XP SP2 a month ago.
I upgraded to Windows 7 (fresh install) and I've been having a ton of problems.
First there are screen-redraw problems in almost every application
Photoshop and illustrator are the worst affected. Sometimes when I type text, it's 'streaming'. Everything was fine under XP. Even when I drag on desktp, it kinda' lags.
Second when I play games like counter-strike, the fps keeps spiking every 2 minutes, which was not present in XP. I used to get flat 100fps on XP now it hardly touches 100.
I've updated to the latest graphic card drivers and installed hotfix etc., still no avail.
I think this is most likely a graphic card problem, so if someone could advise me or help me solve this, that'd be much appreciated.
Like the title above says i need something more powerful than the xfx radei HD 4850 1GB but not to expensive, Sure it still chugs a long fine but lacks newer dx features, I only payed $130 when i bought that card a cpl years ago but I'm looking for something cheaper than can beat it in performance. That and ati just put that card in legacy support Model HD-485X-ZDFC rev.2.1 if you all want to look up the specs has double lifetime warranty one of the reason i bought it, Had it replace by xfx once when capacitors started leaking in an older revision of the card.
I purchased my new computer on Christmas 2008 due to the sales they had that day. When I first got it, it work perfectly fine without even downloading the drivers. I'm a developer for a game and I use various software needed for graphics editing. I play a 10 year old game (Sony's Infantry) almost everyday on average for 1 to 3 hours a day and my system temps are pretty normal. Around 40-50C temps when playing. I use compressed air every 2 weeks and my case is nice and tidy so there's no dust bunnies or anything of that sort. The problem arose during the month of August 2009. There were no artifacts or blue screens or anything like that. The computer would just suddenly turn off on its own and when I tried to power it on, it did not display a picture. I saw the CPU fans spinning, the HDDs were running, all the cables are connected properly, the video card (sapphire 4850) fan was on and there's 1 beep code.
I asked my friend to borrow his old 8600GT and my computer worked normally. He suggests that my PSU may not be supplying enough juice to the GPU. I thought it might have been the mobo. But my friend is more knowledable than I am. I ended up buying a new PSU. The PSU ended up not solving the problem. Then I buy the same exact card that gave me the problem and a new motherboard and installed the drivers.. that didnt do it either. With basically a brand new computer minus the RAM, I end up with the same results.
Original setup: Intel Q6600 Sapphire ATI 4850 HD Asus P5E Antec 500W G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 Antec 500W Continuous SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Windows 7 x64 Windows Vista x64
so i have a Ati hd4850 graphics card and intel core duo e8400
anyway everytime i play a intense game like operation flashpoint dragon rising or call of duty waw or crysis its temprature rises to almost 110 degrees, on idle its 90 degrees.
i have fans runnning on maximum cleaned it from dust, and allowed it beathing space for air vents,, nothing worked.
Primary: Samsung Syncmaster 19 Inch widesreen 1400 * 900 Secondary: LG E2541 25 Inch Widescreen 1980 * 1080 OS: Windows 7 64bit VideoCard: Nvidia Geforce 560 Ti
I use my primary mostly for browsing, msn, music players, Ventrilo etc etc,I want to use my secondary Monitor for gaming Watching Videos. However, when i want to use something Full screen on my secondary monitor it goes full screen on the primary monitor. I cant also run it in windowed mode and stretch it out to full screen, it does not allow me to do that, it goes back to the size of my primary Monitor.
Ps.I want this since i play mostly with fullscreen borderless or in windowed mode so i can still browse the internet or adjust music/ventrillo settings. I dont want to have an Taskbar below the game, so thats why i need it on the Second Monitor.
I'm trying to get the cycling background to extend onto both displays so i will have one continuous background rather than two identical ones. all my wallpapers are dualscreen, but windows is displaying them all smashed together on both displays. It worked one boot up, and im unable to make it reoccurring. I've checked what i think are all the menus, but i cant seem to find any option that changes that. im almost positive i can accomplish this without a third party app.
In vista.x64 it wans't possible to strech your screen over 2 monitor's and for example play games at resolutions nobody held for possible 3360*1050 or if you could pivot your screens 2100*1400!!!
I was planning on going dual screen and I wanted a nice graphics card for gaming and visual design (I use Photoshop and CAD). I am thinking about getting two ASUS VW246H 24" (Newegg.com - 24-236) and I was considering the Radeon Sapphire HD 7870 (Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition OC 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (11199-03-20G). Will I require two of these graphics cards? I was only planning on getting one.
-Try to set two screens, one is VGA other is HDMI(which is a TV)
-I cannot get the sound through TV when both are connected.
_I use windows 7 Pro, stsndsrt VGA video card, all driver updates were made
I am trying to set up two screens one on my normal screen other is my TV (samsung type no: UE40EH50000) via htmi. Actually both screen works kind of fine, when I directly connect both of them but I can not get the sound from the TV when I connect both of them. And I do not know how to set up dual monitor screen settings on Windows 7. On Screen Resolution computer sees only one screen.
I have just installed a dual monitor set-up on my PC. 1 connected with DVI and the other with HDMI. While using both screens 1 has a yellow tint (the right screen) but when I switch back to using just the single monitor (left screen) then that screen has the yellow tint?
i'm running a vaio vgn nr21s/s (nvidia 8400MGT) with a samsung syncmaster 226bw ( 22') connected by a vga connector and i cant have my max resolution (1680/1050@60htz) in Windows 7 x64
i tried a dozens of drivers, the new and the old ones (laptopvideo2go, dox moddified...) for Windows 7 x64 and for vista x64... and still the same problem, still stuck at 1600/1024
i thought it could be the vga connector but im running xp pro 32bits too and theres no problem with that i can get the right resolution.
After installing Windows 7, the MBR was corrupted and I had to reinstall... no problem with 7, but now I have two instances of Windows7 on the mbr screen at startup. the one that works and a non-working one under it. Again, not a real problem, but for the sake of neatness, can I remove this line from the screen? I am still dual booting with XP until I am confident that all my processes will work in 7, then I will want to remove the XP partition and bypass the screen to choose the OS.
Any place out there to get info on these things? Confession - the MBR was borked when I removed the IBM partition with XP utilities, etc and left the XP and 7 partitions, expanding 7 to use the space. Since I have Student download copy from DigitalRiver of 7 I don't have a disk to put in and repair. Disk is in the mail (right!) so a reinstall was the only fix I could come up with.
(Later) OK, I just read a little about a repair disk that I can make, now that I,m running again. Is this the right direction? Is there a fixmbr command?
I have a problem with WMAD or Windows Monitor Auto Detect, when I have a LCD monitor connected to my laptop, it second monitor will randomly stop displaying whatever I have on that side. Sometimes I Disconnect then Reconnect and display for Extension or repeat the connection process about 3 or 4 times before Windows 7 makes up its mind to either keep it disconnected or connected.
after installing windows 7 in the same partition in which the vista resides, when i restart i have this windows dual boot screen, but i no longer want my vista, how do i go about it?
and why is my Sleep option in the windows start menu greyed out? there is only Restart,Shut Down,Hibernate,Lock,Swith User options.everything except the Sleep. why
installed windows 7 the other day everything went fine . pc monitor conected using vga to vga i then conected my dvi to hdmi cable from my pc to my lcd tv in dual screen mode and eveything worked good . my desktop monitor was 1680x1050 and my tv was 1280x720 all good .
now only 4 days since it worked i had to format again and now i get no picture on my lcd tv everything is conected the same and all the same drivers etc but there is no picture. in the screen resolution control pannel i can see the two monitors my dell and my sony tv i can drag a page from my desktop over to my tv but i dont see nothing on the tv its self.
I recently got a projector from a friend and im trying to setup dual screen.
First of all im a bit confused by the Graphics Card itself. I looked for pictures of the card which my computer recognizes as a nVidia GeForce 8500 GT and none have a HDMI port but mine does. So i opened the case and the card has ATI and Foxconn written on it but nothing with nVidia on it.
I have a HDMI to VGA cable which im trying to use to go to my monitor but when i plug it in while switched on i get nothing on the monitor but the projector still works and if i plug it in then boot I get no output on my monitor and just just a black screen and the mouse pointer on my monitor.
I have 2 samsung22 monitors hooked up to a 8800gtx running on windows7 64bit. The problem I've had ever since going to windows7 is 1 monitor works, the other just black screen with power on. I've gone into nvidia control panel and also through windows and it shows both monitors present but I noticed one monitor is attached through an analog cable but both are hooked up with the dvi cables. Could my card have a bad port?
when I plug in monitor 2 in the r/s dvi port it shows the right side desktop portion of the extended view and when I switch to monitor 1 on the right side dvi port it shows the left side desktop view but nothing comes up when attached to the left side dvi port. I've taken a snap shot of my desktop and it shows both screens. I've tried older drivers as far back to 170's and nothing worked.
I running a dual monitor setup with an LCD monitor and a plasma tv. I want to be able to have screensavers run independently on each monitor, so if I'm doing something on the LCD, but not on the plasma, then the screensaver will start on the plasma but not the lcd. If the screensaver doesn't start then the plasma tv it will get an image burn in.
When win 7 open up, what I see on my single display is a desktop screen of a tipical secondary display that would be placed on the right of the main screen.
I go into desktop properties and I see that win7 detect and show 2 screens as if I had a dual screen setup. But I only have one 24" screen. I always need to ask win7 to "detect" the screens again, then it automaticly delete the second "non-existent" screen.
My setup is Dell Sudio XPS 9100 I7 930 5870 geforce 12go ram win7
i have dual monitors on a geforce 9800gtx+ with newest drivers from nvidia, and i have some weirdness when it comes to fullscreen videos, if i am playing a video in wmp or watching a Internet video in fullscreen on either monitor, when i click on the other monitor it come out of full screen on the monitor playing the video.
im running win 7 ultimate x86
any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
im running win 7 x86 in a vaio vgn nr 21s/s with a 8400mgt and i cant find a driver which displays my correct resolution in my external wide screen (22'' at 1680/1050)
all i cant get is 1600/1200 or above but not he optimal.
My dual screen has suddenly stopped working on my laptop. Now when I hit 'detect' my laptop screen goes black and I have to force restart the machine and disconnect the second laptop. Is this likely to be a hardware fault?
