View 2 RepliesHas anyone had issues with the Sapphire HD 7750 ultimate?Since installing a week ago I am getting small malfunctions with this card. These are
1. Occasional jumping / glitching of web pages inside IE9. A very fast twitching effect of the whole page.
2. On one occasion, a web page only refreshed to half way down so I could only see the top half of it. Re-starting the tab cured it.
3. When viewing a photo, if I alternate between full screen and a smaller size, the control bar at the bottom of photo viewer becomes corrupted with the buttons often disappearing. If I wait 30 seconds then snap to full again the problem normally fixes.
4. Yesterday about 6 or 8 red blocks appeared, around the bottom task bar. Each was about the size of a task bar icon, they would not disappear until I unlocked the task bar and moved it around a bit.
My install process was as follows:Shut down and remove old card (HD 4350).Install HD 7750.Reboot.Install Catalyst 12.3 driver set from the CD which came with the card.Check for updates to catalyst, download 12.4 and install that version.Perhaps I should have uninstalled the previous drivers for the old card first. I had assumed it would be OK with both cards being AMD.I do not believe there is any issue with temperature, the issues are present even at a cold startup and my GPU temperature has never been above 48 deg, is is normally around 40 in general use.I am tempted to RMA now unless someone else has seen this and can say it is drivers?
The audio worked before I installed the AMD HD 7750 graphics card, and now I get the "Speakers not plugged in" error message.
Things I have done: Checked BIOS, onboard audio is enabled (there is no auto option, just enable and disable). Reinstalled windows I just finished downloading and installing the latest drivers from my MOBO manufacturer.
I'm not sure what else to do, geek squad (hah) said they think it's either the CD that came with the MOBO (which I reinstalled everything on it after reinstalling windows) or it's a corrupted port. Which, since the mobo is brand new I can't really believe that. Especially since it worked prior to the graphics card. I installed the GPU, and then it wasn't used for a few days at all since I was out of town, then came back and there is no sound.
The only thing I haven't done yet is take out the GPU and see if the audio comes back.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning Win7 and certain programs do not display options. For example... if I run msconfig.... it pops up but there's nothing there... just a blank GUI... If I try to install a program... the install wizard pops up... but it's just a blank GUI... same with Task Manager. I can run CMD though. I tried to run a Outlook export and the export wizard is also just a blank GUI. And then in Chrome when I try to browse websites it's like 90% of the CSS doesn't work. I think I might have a virus but Kaspersky couldn't find any issues... I also tried some online scanners. I want to install some more serious software but I can't get through the wizards because the options don't exist.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to back up data from office to home via VPN connection. All PCs running Windows 7 for both ends. I have a batch file that uses Robocopy to perform "incremental backup" from the office to home. Here is the example robocopy c:/sharedFiles "\192.168.1.10myHomesharedFiles" /E When I run the batch file, the VPN connection was fine. So the VPN was not the issue.I found it strange that every time I run the batch file. It uploaded the same file again and again. I was pretty sure it already did it but it marked it as newer and did upload the file again and again. This is a waste of bandwidth.I am tempted to use /mir but this option is very risky as I could have important files deleted by accident.By my understanding, option /E should do the job as it only copies the modified files as well as new files and empty folders. That's what I want to do.

I just installed Da sims on a HP pavillion dv5 laptop with Intel Core i5 processor & 4g ram with windows 7.The game itself runs rather fine, but the options on the upper part of the screen (build, create family, demolish...) are oddly GONE.So, I installed the same game on my PC (wich runs on win XP) and it works perfectly, with th eproper options on the screens upper section.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHowever, If I try to change any settings in the options menu, when I click accept the game just freezes. The PC doesn't freeze, JUST the game. When I page out and close the game and reopen it, sometimes the settings took effect, sometimes they didn't.
This happens EVERY time I click the accept button. Other than changing settings in the settings menu, the game works flawlessly. It's just a pain because I would like to change up some settings on my keyboard but after I change it and hit "accept" it just freezes and I have to restart crysis.
**It did NOT do this with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RC.***
SPECS:
-I'm running Windows 7 Premium x64

Anyone have some ideas on what this could be?
I'm outgrowing my boot disc. I'd like to migrate the image to a new disc. I will not use anything from Symantec so that eliminates Norton. On Amazon, the negative reviews for Acronis run 2 to 1 so that leaves that out too.Suppose I install Windows 7 on a new disc and run an image restore. Would that give me back my current image with all programs installed?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a computer tech, and I service a lot of different computers for many different people. In the old days, I could make a bootable floppy with all my utilities on it, and be on my way. Now, of course, few people have floppy drives, but I still need a way to boot all the different computers I find, whether 32-bit or 64-bit. I created a Ubuntu Linux CD, but I don't know the software well enough to display any directory tree apart from the Linux system (I can't browse the Windows directories, or even see the Windows directories). I have a pair of new 16 GB USB flash drives that I would like to make bootable. What should I put on them, and how would I do it? I think I managed to get Win 7 64 on one, but that probably isn't the OS I want to use for my application.
