I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and lately my Pictures folder is taking an age to open and frequently doesn't respond.Everything else seems to work fine and opens normally - it's just this one folder.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have followed the instructions listed from previous threads, however, I am still not able to retrieve the folder: My Pictures I actually deleted both My documents and My Pictures folders by accident, and I was able to restore My documents from the recycle bin, however, My Pictures folder was not in the Recycle bin to begin with so I was not able to restore it.I have searched the shell: My Pictures, looked through and unhid all files, but I am still not successful in restoring My Pictures folder(and pictures I need and want to have all back in my computer ....And I also do not have the option or folder titled My Pictures, but only a folder Pictures

These duplicates are not copies; what you do to them affects their desktop counterparts. This means I cannot move, rename, or delete them without the desktop files being affected. It's as though my Desktop were somehow linked to that folder.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new laptop. I already have problems - first, the laptop seems to have issues in hibernation mode. Second, and worse, it's always freezing and not responding. I have installed very few programs right now - WoW for my son, firefox. My university also installed microsoft office 2010, another program that allows me to log onto their network, pharos, and an antivirus program called landesk - which I think may be the issue. I tried locating the antivirus program to uninstall, but couldn't. Where should I start?
Also, I'm using Windows 7 and its a 64 bit system.
I am having a number of issues of this computer being slow, outlook not repsonding, once screensave goes on, then programs cannot re-open, have to use task manager to close and relaunch.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I right click on a file such as a photo or even IE the computer goes into a non responsive mode. If I wait it out at least 45+ seconds generally the menu comes up. This is pretty frustrating. Have seen a few posts with the shellexviewer etc and started to go that route but I decided to do a restore at a earlier point and now and looking for a fresh perspective

The problem is when I tried to do a back up it failed and said it was because the folder path was missing. I tried to delete the folder but it will not let me.

-Videos: D:/Videos
-Music: D:/Music
However, my videos folder has extra files such as thumbnail pictures and music that are showing up in WMP. I do not want them to show up.

I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just reformated my Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit if I could repair my slow LAN internet. Speed is okay when I plug it to my laptop. But on my new CPU, it slows down, like my usual 50-60kbs download speeds go to 2-3kbps and even lower. I've manually downloaded the latest LAN driver and still not working.

My mother just told me about a problem she's been having accessing her documents folder. I looked into it and could not access anything from the documents library. This is the error I get when I try to open the library: But I found the documents folder in the Pictures library: It won't let me put the documents folders back in the library. How can I do this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been noticing my system is very slowly lately. I'm also constantly getting "not responding" messages. So far I have tried sfc /scannow, and chkdsk /r . Both came back fine. Suspecting Hard drive problem I downloaded and ran Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Diagnostics (it's a WD drive). That too came back with a clean report. I have run the usual maintenance duties like defrag but still no good. Also checked for malware with Spybot.
View 5 Replies View RelatedShould be a relatively fast machine takes forever to start-up / load apps. For example, 9:10 from power on to loading Outlook. I've tried everything I could think of -- CCleaner, alwarebytes, disk cleanup / optimization, sfc / scannow, pruning down any startup items, power set to max performance, triple-checking all drivers are up to date, etc. Once the system is "warmed up" and I'm using it constantly, everything is fine -- quick, responsive, etc. If I leave for 10 min or more and come back, even though nothing has been set to power down / go to sleep, programs (already open) don't respond, etc., until the system "warms up" again. On startup / initial launches, and when coming back to the computer, CPU usage never gets very high (watching the CPU Usage gadget or Task Manager).My wife's computer, a slightly slower Dell bought at the same time and configured the same way, doesn't have any of these problems. (Mine is a Studio XPS 7100 Phenom II X4 820, 12G)

Used space: 44,277,760 42.2MB
Free space: 60,575,744 57.7MB
When I try to open the drive and access my files, Pic, Doc, etc. It says this folder is empty. How do I regain access to my files?
In Windows Live Mail, the response time is 2 minutes to "create new folder", "move to", and other commands. Both Windows Mail and Outlook Express did these requests very quickly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set up my boss's computer with a folder on her C: drive for her scans from our office copier. Her laptop is part of our network. Our servers run Server 2003 R2. Her laptop is new and is a 64-bit Windows 7 pro. When I try to set up the sharing it gets hung up and says Sharing Files (with the green progress bar going and me being alerted that it may take a few minutes). Then it just says at the top after a long while that it's not responding. If I wait it out it then says that the folder is shared but when I try to do things like view its properties it just starts to not respond again.
