Currently I have this setup in WMP:
-Pictures: D:/Pictures
-Videos: D:/Videos
-Music: D:/Music
However, my videos folder has extra files such as thumbnail pictures and music that are showing up in WMP. I do not want them to show up.
As the title states, I cannot get my music, pictures and videos links to show up on the right side of my start menu. I have used all of Brink's tutorials and or registry hacks and double checked everything...but to no resolve.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIve read this is a windows 7 problem but all my mp4's have the usual default image instead of what they used to have when I first downloaded them. Did the thumbnail location change? I did, at one point, install a new media player which became my default for some reason, I corrected that problem but all my mp4 thumbnails vanished after I returned media player as my default...whats the deal here? I tried clearing and resetting the thumbnail cache, I also tried rebuilding the icon cache

If I open Kodak Easyshare these picts show for a split second so I know they are somewhere. What can I do to restore them to the original location?

It appears that the pictures move faster off of the DVD than they do when created in media. This is the case whether played on a DVD player or a computer however when played in media it works perfectly.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently I noticed that my 500GB hard drive was beginning to get full. It has everything on it. I installed a second hard drive, 1TB, and my intention was to keep all of the programs and OS on the primary 500GB hard drive and transfer all of my documents (pics, vids, docs & music) to the 1TB drive.
When I go to C:UsersMyName and I go to "cut" a folder like MyMusic and then "paste" it in my new E: drive, it says that the folder is shared and if I move it others will not be able to use it.
Now, before I do this, with MyMusic, MyPictures, etc. I have a question: By moving these over to the E: drive (the new 1TB) drive, am I going to do something I regret, like losing access to these files, the OS not being able to find them, or something like that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOn Windows 7 I installed the xbox 360 extender using Media Center, all my media files show up, but after exiting the extender, all my media files do not show anymore on their default windows folders for Pictures, Videos, and Music. Re-enter Media Center, and I am able to see all my media files, but unable to reach them through my PC, even after exiting again, and using my PC normally.
1- Advance searched my files to no avail, restored WMP library to no avail, restarted several times to no avail.
2- Used old Vista tricks in regedit to no avail, files still don't show up, they only do when I start the extender, and I see them through the extender only.
3- Restored to previous point in history on Windows to no avail.
4- Disabled WMP and WMC in Windows services and features, and re-enabled them, to no avail.
I have always backed my personal hard drives using images for easy restoration
However i now have 2 PCs that need backup performed and they just want the data so an image is not necessary thus i only want the important data ie; documents and settings important files no junk such as updates or temp files
I would prefer to remove the hard drives and plug it into another pc to perform the backup instead of doing the back up from the actual machine
In windows explorer album art not showing. Even if i set icon to large. Any music player can show art when i play. But not showing in explorer. Videos and pictures are ok.

But when I go to upload a photo to another site all those pictures and albums are there again. They are empty but still there and it takes a lot of scrolling to get to where I want to be. I wonder whether someone has an idea how to get rid of those captions. My original is in .wmv at 180MBs, but for uploading it to skydrive I had to convert it to .flv because of the Skydive 50MB limit per upload.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have some troubles to play all kind of media files now. the problem comes out a few days ago and i have no idea what may be the reason. i am very sure i didn't install anything to my computer and there is no notifications to tell me anything that is damaged etc. and i just reinstall the entire computer once today but the problem is ongoing!!!!!!!!!!i am running my computer on windows 7 Pro X86. And the problems is that doesn't matter what media player i use and no matter what type of files i try to play they start to play for about one second then automatically stopped. but if i switch the media player to background then they can play the file till it finish. so far i have tried windows media player VLC KMplayer Real player and quick time player. the file i have tried are mp3 mp4 flv mkv wma wmv avi 3gp and ape.
a funny thing i notice is that when i move my mouse to the minimized windows on taskbar, the preview only flash out for a short time then disappear even i don't move my mouse, not sure if this has anything to do with my problem though.
i have private video and music file, and play it on hidden.i always make sure that the file is hidden.but when i click on START button and then TYPE the name of the file on Search program and files Field down there, it always showed up? You can try the same thing too, after you see a hidden text file or video file, it still can be searched.I suppose there are history section somewhere on windows 7 i need to delete.

I've been attempting to troubleshoot it but I'm not to sure about how to find the cause of the problem. View 3 Replies View RelatedI just noticed today that my video and music files in explorer no longer show the album art or the video instead of the standard Icon when viewing large icons in folders. I think it is because I recently installed and uninstalled winamp. (thats the only thing I can think of) I cant do system restore because I had it disabled. I've tried reseting the search index, reseting folder options, going under performance and checking the settings there, nothing has changed. I really dont want to have to wipe and reinstall...
Here is a picture if you dont get what Im saying, as you can see in the folders it still displays the album art of the files but the actual mp3 files dont show it. The album art works fine in WMP.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows 7 64 with indexed search ON.I am unable to see search results in my MUSIC folder When I try, it immediately shows "no items match your search" in the results pane.I was able to get search results in the past.other folders search still works fine.The music folder is logically located on drive D.i am sharing this folder to a Guest user.Changing permissions or unsharing the folder altogether did not fix this.Disabling indexed search did fix this, but then I end up with the original slow annoying search.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have THE Music Folder located in Libraries and inside this Folder i have another Folder called All Music that no matter what i do, i cannot open the damn thing. It's not locked, It's not restricted, I've tried right clicking on it and doing Open. I've tried doing Open in New Window. I've tried Deleting the damn thing and then Restoring it.
I don't even get an error. It just simply sits there. Yet i can open every other Folder on my Computer. Except this ONE Folder.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64, My Virus Scans are up to date and so are my Computer Updates. I've closed all Programs and tried opening it, too.
This isn't "Super" important. I'm more concerned that there's something wrong with my hard-drive than the actual Music (although there's over 700 Songs in this one Folder..)
I am trying to organize my music, and a lot of my songs don't have information under Album. I've tried right clicking on the file then clicking properties, but there is no option there to edit the information. How can I add the name of the Albums?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with some of the files being duplicated in my music folder. I've noticed that only the first 20-30 artists have been duplicated. The originals are still there, however the contents inside (so the albums of the artist) have duplicated/cloned into my music folder.So I can find the album Razors Edge in :Users--MusicACDC and in :Users--Music When I go to options in Razors Edge album in :Users--Music, it says that the location is actually :Users--MusicACDC. So it's as if both point to the same location.
However, when I delete the duplicate (the album that's just in My Music folder), the deletes the original (in My MusicACDCRazors Edge) and then the song won't play at all in Itunes or Windows Media. Then when I restore the album from Recycling Bin, it works.
Additionally, Itunes says that there are no duplicates...I would also like to add: when I copy ACDC from My Music onto my desktop, the duplicates remain in My Music. When I try to copy the duplicates into my ACDC folder, it says "The destination folder is the same as the source folder". When I delete the duplicate files, it still deletes the originals that or on the desktop
