i reinstalled windows due to my vista being corrupt, i formatted the hardrive and everything seemed fine. When i woke up this morning and turned my pc on it said that windows failed to log me on because it couldnt access the event log.Now i looked in the event viewer and clicked on the error and it said this:
The LoadUserProfile call failed with the following error: An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed unrecoverably. The registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the registry........
I have installed Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 from windows update...but i have a question....How can i delete this ''failed message'..not updates..only 'fail message'' from update history..look at this
I had a problem with my Windows Mail, all of the sudden I could not get my mail to show up in the inbox so I signed up for Windows Live Mail to see if I could just export everything to it but it did not work. I now have a Windows Live import box stuck on my Desktop that I cannot get rid of and I cannot get into my Windows Mail anymore. The windows live is working well but I just want to get to my old e-mails and my contacts , is this possible?
My computer was working properly, then I had a power problem, my computer turned off and turned on again. Now my windows doesn't open. When I try to open I receive this message: Windows failed to start. File:windowssystem32configsystem Status:0xc000014c Info:Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or corrupted. fix it without losing my files.I have a restore cd, but I dont want to use it, because I can't lose my files. The cd doesnt has the choice to repair windows.Just restore it. I am using Windows vista premium and my computer is Aspire E380 (Acer) It has C: and D: partition, but I dont know if it is 32 or 64 I already use all steps in F8 screen, safe mode....last configuration...anything didn't work.
I have a dell 1525 running vista home premium 32bit. Just a few minutes ago I was transfering music from my hard drive to my external hard drive, while on the internet looking at videos. I noticed that the file transfer process was taking a while so i decided to cancel the process. Some error message popped up after a while, being stupid I didn't write them down and kept watching my videos. My desktop disappeared and i cou;dn't start task manager so i decided to restart my computer... When I restarted I was greeted with "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer. 2. Choose your language settings and click next. 3. Click "repair your computer"
It also gives me the following options:
4. Safe Mode 5. Safe Mode with networking 6. Safe Mode with Command Prompt 7. Last known good configuration 8. Start Windows normally
When I restart booting from the reinstall dvd from dell and i get to the repair my computer part, vista isn't listed in the options to repair. And I can't browse my main hard drive. Also when I start into safe mode, all the driver load then I get a quick flash of a blue screen which says(i video tapped it then slowed it down to read the message): A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.........

Trying to get Drives / Folders and Sub-Folders on the right as existed in XP. Also tried to get a shortcut from the Desk top to open to windows displayed in this way. Failed! Shortcut opens to display Windows as I want but anchors itself to document; not Computer or the C drive. If I click on Computer it lists the drives / partition but there is no right pane. Am I able to configure the way I want and if so how do I go about it?
windows security is asking me for logon and password, error message: Account: 'bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR login failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
So you guys know that Antivirus Suite? Well a couple of days ago I was like JESUS! How do I get it out of my computer? But then I got it resolved by the help of Malware Bytes. BUTTT, the next day, my older sibling thought it wasn't "trustworthy" so he decided to delete it. Now, the computer before it starts says it checks the __ drive ( I forgot) and then all my applications just stopped working. Like AIM malfunctioned, Itunes malfunctioned, the sound on my browser stopped working ( oh, Itunes notified saying that the audio configuration didn't work so yeah...), my browser thank god still works, and everything else.. Well it's infected with errors and blah blah blah.
-I checked out the Windows Service Installer and tried to repair it, but it failed. -I can't download anything on certain browsers, but for all browsers, I can't save things like pictures. -Yes, I tried F8? or F9 I forgot Dx to try to do a startup repair, but that failed. And I tried system restore, but for some reason it all got deleted, and I hope I don't have to F11 and restore it to it's factory settings haha... -ANDDDD, I'm not breaking a limb for no Geeksquad haha, it's DTM (doing too much)!Lastly, I blame my sibling... >:0
I read the thread for the Windows Mail tutorial for sig creation, and I followed that pretty faithfully. Got great insight there since I was really at a loss when it came to selecting file type. I would have rather posted this in there but it was closed, so forgive me if this was reopened elsewhere. My problem comes when I upload or select my html file, my logo still appears as a red X. I can supply the code since its not sensitive or anything...............
I am running Vista on a Dell XPS 420. I came home to find both drives failed in a RAID 1 mirror. Dell gave me no help recovering data, but did send two new drives. I have installed Vista on one of the new drives without RAID. I wanted to see if I could recover any files from the failed drives, but I can't seem to get Vista to recognize either of the old drives that were in the failed RAID array. The failed drive does appear during boot up and still shows as part of a failed array. How can I get Vista to recognize the failed drive so that I can then attempt to run file recovery software on it?
When I try to perform a wndows update, my 9 month old HP notebook keeps getting hung up or says the download failed. It just says it's downloading the updates but continually says 0 KB total and 0% complete, that goes unchanged for HOURS! I eventually have to stop the download but have several important updates that are waiting to be installed. I dont know what to do. HP says I must remove all saved document and file data and reinstall the whole operating system.
My laptop (Advent 8117 running Vista if that helps) has been working fine, then this morning things went pear-shaped. To begin with things worked as usual - Everything seemed to load up as normal, I left the room for maybe 5-10 minutes and when I returned there was a black screen. I waited a while and nothing happened so I restarted. It comes up with 'Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.' From there I can either start normally or run a repair. It doesn't seem to matter what I click here because I get a 'Techguys' support thing come up either way but now nothing on it works. To begin with I ran the Repair Environment, but it couldn't fix it. I also got to try a System Restore but I seem to have no points to restore to. Now I can't get the Techguys page to do anything. So I tried running in Safe Mode but once again I'm faced with the unmoving Techguys page, and the same goes for when I try and load from the Last Know Good Configuration. I desperatly don't want to have to lose everything.
I am building a brand new system and bit the bullet and am attempting to install Vista Ultimate 64 with SP1 (Brand Spanking New DVD with SP1 on it). Everything boots up just fine, memory is okay (4 Gb), install runs fine and after the reboot, I get the following: File: Windowssystem32toskrnl.exe
Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt. (I purchased all parts and software from Newegg) When I go to the MS Support site and put in the Product Key, it tells me that it's in an invalid format. 5 - 5 - 5 - etc is what I have, however, Microsoft is wanting 5 - 3 - 5 -etc. format. I have pulled out EVERYTHING and disconnected EVERYTHING except the DVD, HD, and vid card, so I'm running it as barebones as I can.
I recently restarted my computer and the following error message appeared. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

File: BootBcd
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
I have followed all the instructions to no avail. I also entered the command eature and attempted to rebulid the bcd but it gives the error message "the requested system device cannot be found." I have a lot information on the hard drive so i would really like to be able to fix it without loosing any of the information.
Tried to restore to my Toshiba Equium laptop to factory settings. It started to format the disk and then Blue screened. Now it wont even boot. Error message I get is :- "windows failed to start........" File windowssystem32winload.exe status: 0xc000000f
I dont have a Vista disk (never had one) so downloaded the Vista boot repair disk. Tried the repair option on here and fixboot from the command line but still no joy.
It says something in relationship with these words. Windows Boot Manager Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next." 3. Click "Repair your computer." If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

I receive the following message when I have logged on to my computer: Windows Defender "Application failed to initialize: 0x800106ba. A problem caused this service to stop." I have looked at Help and Support but have not found anything to identify what the problem is. I run Vista Home Premium 64 Bit OS.
I can't receive or send mail. I keep getting the following error messages every time I log onto Windows Mail: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have the basic vista home. I'm having trouble installing windows live messenger on it. within 30 secs of running the installer, its aborting (i have been trying it off and on over the span of last 10 hours). i turned off both windows and the third-party firewall. temporary internet files are cleared. never used a dial-up network on this pc. running the installer as an admin (right-clicking on the setup exe file allows you to do that).

I am having is I cannot acess my laptop with windows sharing/networking.I am trying to share files and printers between my Dexktop PC and my Laptop. My desktop PC is connect to a router with DNS by cable and the laptop is connected by Wi-Fi.Both computers belong to the same workgroup(WORKGROUP).Both computers have password protected public folder and printer sharing, file sharing, network discovery, and password protected sharing enabled. Both computers do have shared files and printers. What's happening is from the laptop the desktop(RK-PC)appears and I can share files and printers flawlessly and very quickly. However from the desktop while the laptop (RYANK-MOBILE) appears it cannot be accessed at all. Also the desktop is vista 64 bit and the laptop is vista business.I saw another thread with the same problem but the response pointed to a tome of an article that explained every single facet of windows sharing down to the way the packets are constructed. To be honest I don't have time to read 100 pages on windows sharing and there is no way the problem is the complicated.None of the suggestions I read in the first five pages or so helped at all any ways.I tried changing netBIOS from default to disabled on both PCs but after doing this the result was normal function on the laptop as before but the desktop could no longer even see/discover the laptop on the network.
I boot up my computer today and up pops a message about my bootmbr being missing. I, figuring this was quite bad, stuck in the ol' vista installation disk to run a startup repair. It does its thing, says its successful and tells me to reboot. I do, and get a new message at startup, saying,"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause... File: Windowssystem32 tkrnlpa.exe Status: 0xc0000428 Info: Windows cannot verify the digital signature of this file"
So I figure I'm getting somewhere, load the disk repair, and I get "Startup repair could not repair the problem." along with other steps i should take to "send it to microsoft"() So now i run commands like chkdsk /p,bootmbr,bootfix (I've done this before). NONE of these do a darn thing to solve my problem. (Ive done the F8 thing with the load drivers w/o signatures; didnt work.) So, I figure i should take matters into my own hands. So i open up a CMD, and copy a ntkrnlpa.exe from my install disk and replace it with the one on my hard drive. Logical? I thought so. But same results. Except for one thing, when the repair thing runs again, the details say that the file "pshed.dll" is corrupt. I replace this one, doesnt work, and then says the ntoskrnl.exe is corrupt too.... I replace this one as well, but this one has remained corrupt. I sometimes get a new message when running the startup repair. System volume on disk is corrupt. But other times I get "Boot status indicates that the OS booted successfully." So Ive pretty much used all I can think of, short of booting BartPE and copying my important files and reinstalling. One more thing that happened. Last night (when everything was running smoothly) diskeeper did a boot time defrag. I think something went wrong and this is what is causing all this trouble.
newer computer with vista home pre sp2, moving account from old computer (both on line behind a router) OE6 express, have moved contact list OK. new computer has CA security suite on road runner ISP. I've disabled antispam in windows mail. unable to send mail get following errors, The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test 10/26', Account: 'pop-server.nycap.rr.com', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
my pc wouldnt boot before so i clicked repair computer then after ten minutes it tries to use sytsem restore but it still go any further than the windows loading bar so i try to boot in safe mode but when i turn it on again it says "windows failed to start" and asking to insert your windows insallation cd in but most vista comps dont come with a installation cd so i try using my acer recovery disks but they dont work so what do i do ??? oh yes vista home premium 32 bit
Vista Home Basic SP2. When I try to run Windows update all I get is a blank page that says "The page failed to load". I've looked all around and have found a lot of people with the same or a similar problem but no firm solutions. I haven't used it in maybe a week and it's worked fine up till now. There have been no real changes since I used it last. Does anyone have a clue?
I'm currently having some serious problems with my main desktop pc Q6600, 4gb Ram, Vista 64 Ultimate where when I turn the machine on I get a message saying: 'Windows failed to start, A recent hardware or software change might be the cause File: WindowsSysWOW64DriversPxHelp20.sys Status 0x0000359 info: Failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.' This problem started after I ran windows update a few days ago. its asked me to try putting the vista dvd in and run a repair, but that failed miserably. other things I would like to point out is that I am running a Raid (Stripe) on my system drive, so I cannot just take the discs out to recover the data. Is there anyway I can solve this issue whilst keeping the operating system intact? finally i'm running the OEM version of vista....I'm feeling pretty fed up as most of my important data is on these drives and ironically I was going to purchase a larger backup disc this month when I get paid.....
I get a message saying evertime I try to start it, saying
that the application failed to initialize 0x800106ba. a problem caused this program's service to stop.to start the service, restart your computer or search help and support.
Windows Defender application failed to iniatialise 0x800106ba. A problem caused this program service to stop.
I have tried to download this again, but it says it is already installed on my Vista, but if I try to run it, the above error message appears and does so every time I start up, so I just get stuck in a loop!
