Windows Calendar Can Not Running
Apr 22, 2008I don't see a Calendar group. I have had several occasions when Windows Calendar did not pop up with appointments until a day or two had gone by and it then informs me that the appointment or whatever is x days overdue. Not very helpful obviously. My computer was on and logged in at least once on the days of the appointment. Another problem. Because of the afore-mentioned problem I put Windows Calendar in my Startup folder so I would be forced to see the calendar when I first log in. I have had a couple of crashes now apparently related to this. Once the calendar wouldn't close and the second time the computer froze after displaying the calendar; I was forced to do an unstructured shutdown; and this in turn generated raid 1 disk problems that took hours to be resolved.

Jun 27, 2008I'm using Vista and have Windows Mail and Calendar. I bought my laptop at Office Depot. In the calendar view, on the left, the top box shows the current month, the box under it has: Calendars, then under that heading; Office Depot Calendar, and the box is checked. If I uncheck it and then try to enter an appointment in the calendar, a message comes up; You cannot add appointments to a calendar that is disabled. Does this mean there are other calendars, and if so, how do I access or 'enable' them? I don't really care
for this 'Office Depot' calendar/
Windows Calendar Is Not Running
May 27, 2008Haven't gotten any response so I'll try again. A serious problem I am having with Vista calendar is that it is frequently not alerting me to appointments/events. Sometimes days will go by and abruptly I'm presented with a list of past due items. There may be a "good" reason for this happening but I can't imagine what it is as I log into the account associated with the calendar at least once a day. I have been running with the option "Reminders should show when Windows Calendar is not running" set. Also, is there any way to truly share a calendar between users on the same machine? I've used the sharing options but always end up with copies of the calendar and they don't update themselves when another user makes a change.

May 23, 2009I'm wondering if it's ok to Delete any of the stock wallpapers that were included in Vista? I've found one of the folders which has a few that I have no use of, but still haven't located the other folder. I think there's at least 2, maybe? Feb 21, 2010Vista Ultimate SP2 32 Bit. I would like to know if it is possible to subscribe to a shared Windows = Calendar on one machine by all my machines across my home network by = subscribing to the one Calendar .ICS.
I have shared the Windows calendar on the one machine and published the = calendar to a folder on my Data drive that is accessible to all machines = via the home network. The other drives on the same machine can access = the calendar by subscribing to it. But, when I tried to subscribe to = that ics file from one of the other machines via the home network it = does not work. It can access the folder and file, but, it will not = subscribe to it when I enter it into the subscription line.=20 What do I need to do to be able to share this published calendar by all = the machines. They each have the same version of Vista installed.=20

The result is that this scheduled task does not run properly when it is supposed to, and when you open up the Task Scheduler, you get an error popping up in Task Scheduler:
"An error has ocurred for the task Reminders - {User Name}. Error message: The specified account name is not valid."

Wallpaper Resizing?
Jun 27, 2008I've been running Vista now for over a year and ever since I made the switch, I've been annoyed, by how Vista deals with Wallpaper. I'm on using a widescreen monitor, with vista, it doesnt' resize the image to fit without stretching it. With XP, it would resize it while maintaining its proportions, but I can't seem to find a way to do that with vista.

Aug 26, 2008When I used to change my wallpaper I had 5 options to fit the image to the screen, cant remember them exactly but they were something like; Stretch to screen, fit horizontal, fit vertical, centered, and tiled. Why is it now that I only have; Centered, Tiled and stretch to screen?
Was this an update because this is really annoying!? It was much easier to fit the wallpaper to screen without stretching it when I could fit horizontal and vertical? Why can I not do this now?
Wallpaper Can't Working With VISTA
Aug 16, 2009Using Vista for the first time - lotsa little annoyances, but nothing I don't thing I can handle or deal with except... Whenever I shut down and restart, my wallpaper is gone. It's a simple JPG downloaded from the internet. I keep a few dozen in a folder and change them as the whim hits. Any idea why it doesn't remain in place a after a reboot?

Nov 3, 2009My computer shut down and when it re-booted the icons were SUPER LARGE and the picture wall paper I had is enormous now. I was able to get the icons back to normal but the wallpaper won't readjust. I have Vista 64-bit. In the old computer, all I had to do was right click and the properties box would open and I would just re-adjust the pixel size but this computer is different.

Feb 17, 2009I didn't seem to find a solution for this issue. I have a wallpaper that's 1280x800 and that's my monitor's resolution as well. I tried to have it "fit to screen" but the wallpaper ends up being at the upper left side of my screen (cutting part of the wallpaper). I've also tried the other available options tiling and centering but they all came out to be the same. I have to change the resolution every time I turn on my laptop in order for it to actually fit to the screen; change 1280 to another resolution and then change it back again to 1280 for it to actually fit. Aug 13, 2009I have windows vista home premium and two users accounts on the pc. Is there a way for my calendar to be viewed and /or updated by the other user on this pc? I have outlook 2003 and I know that I can't set up my calendar for sharing to someone on another pc without going thru an exchange server. However, I was hoping that because my wife and I were both users on the same pc that she would be able to have access to my calendar when she was signed on in her own account. Also, because I can't share my calendar without going thru an exchange server I was hoping to be able to export my master calendar that I have on an older XP desktop and bring in onto my vista laptop. For some reason even though the export files seems to have all my entries, it only puts some of the items into my calendar on the vista laptop.
