Way To Change Default Location For Saved Attachments?
May 12, 2009Is there a way to change the default location for saved attachments? I would prefer to save them to the Desktop, rather than to the Documents folder.

Jul 29, 2009When I open an attachment received via e-mail, a copy of the file is being saved to the desktop. I believe the file used to be saved to the temp folder. This started happening within the past 2 or 3 weeks. Any idea what setting or windows setting is causing this new behavior? Or how to fix it?

I then forward the e-mail and before sending it, open the attachment to check it, only to find that he changes I made are not there. Where does Mail/Word save the copy of the attachment I saved? Does Vista have temporary folders that it saves these files to similar to XP and, if so, where can I find these?

Jun 17, 2009when I try to download anything to my computer, I get this message: C:UsersCraftApp DataLocalTemp and it also says that it could not be saved because you (me) cannot change the contents. (I am the admin on my computer, so why can't change it?)
I also want to know what program can permanently get rid of programs after I already uninstalled them, because they seem to be leaving a trail behind on my computer and I think that is what is causing this message.Also, If you can tell me what program there is for windows vista home premium SP2 64-bit.

Apr 2, 2008Please, add a feature, in a patch or sevice pack, to allow to change simply the location of C:Users, or C:UsersOneUser folder location. I have done many internet searches, this seems not to be possible simply. And don't tell me that I have to change each folder location (Music, Pictures, and so on). This does not fit my need.

May 25, 2009Under *Inbox* in Windows Mail I have a dozen or so sub-folders titled by the sender such as "From NatWest 09", or "From Family & Friends 09". I _*HAD,*_ until last week, a similar numbers of sub-folders under Windows Mail *Sent*, such as "To NatWest 09" or "To Family & Friends 09". All the *Sent* file folders have now disappeared. I have accessed Tools, Options,Advanced, Maintenance, Store Folder, Store Location and Change, but cannot find any of the Sent folders anywhere. Can anyone please suggest a way to find and restore them?

Once Maxthon was installed and set as the default browser all of the shortcuts to web pages that i have (i.e. favorites folder) and a few on my desktop all use the maxthon icon. Feb 14, 2010I have two versions of Eudora on my PC but only one (Eudora 8 beta) is recognized in file folders that contain *.jpg files (as of today).
Before today, I would highlight a JPG and click on Email at the top of the open folder. Eudora 7.1 would come up and all I had to do was put in an email address. I should say that I use Eudora 7.1 with two sets of data - one for me and one for my wife.
However, my wife's version would come up which is what I want. As of today, Eudora 8 beta comes up when I click on Email. I have no idea how the association changed.
I also don't know why my wife's version of Eudora 7.1 used to come up instead of mine.
There must be a way to reset the association. I tried resetting the association in Internet Explorer - but only Eudora 8 beta is available as a choice. That's another problem. Why isn't Eudora 7.1 a choice in file associations in Internet Explorer 8?
Change Default Mail Address To Hotmail
Mar 27, 2010I have IE8, Windows Vista and Windows Mail, which shows as my default mail and only email address.
I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.
Is downloading "Windows Live" and uninstalling my "Windows Mail" a solution?
I have all my mail forwarded to Hotmail, so I wouldn't lose saved messages.
How Can Change Default Settings In File Manager?
Sep 15, 2009I want it to default sort by name and not size and I want it that way for all folders I open. I find that some apps use the windows protocol and it is annoying having to change it there too. I was able to do it in XP and 2000 but it is not as intuitive in Vista.I want it to sort by name and I would like some other view tabs instead of what's displayed. I know how to do that by adding sort (tabs) by right clicking but how do I make it universal and how do I make it stay that way?
