View 6 RepliesSince I upgraded my computer to Windows Vista and installed Flight Simulator X, there has been no sound of the narrator at all in the missions. Also, there is sometimes no sound at different view angles of the aircraft. There was no problems like this when I had it on Windows XP.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't figure out how to get rid of the narrator on my computer when i first start it up. It is driving me crazy ...i want it off my computer and i don't remember how i got it on there in the first place.
View 4 Replies View RelatedVista Home Premium user - MS Narrator starts automatically at start up. I went through the Start>Control Panel>Ease of Access>Make Computer Easier to See and made sure the Turn Narrator On was NOT checked. I even turned it on, applied changes, then turned it back off and applied changes again. Multiple times, restarting and restarting. Yet I still get to hear Anna's lovely voice at start up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to change the voice on my PC from the default Anna to any other. I have seen this problem reported in other forums and have yet to find any solution.

To reach the power button on the laptop you must first raise the lid which there is not room to do
View 9 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows Vista Ultimate. Display turns off after about fifteen minutes regardless of whether I am actively using the computer or not. The only way to turn the display back on is to close and then open the lid. This disconnets me from AOL, so I have to sign back on again, and if I was emailing, I might lose my current email. Under Power Options, I have 'Turn off the display' set to Never for both On Battery and Plugged in. Under 'Put the computer to sleep' I have both On battery and Plugged in set to never. Nonetheless, the display still shuts off while I am working. What do I need to do to prevent the display from turning off at odd intervals?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am embarrassed to ask it. Previously I had WindowsXP on my laptop - to turn it off you went to Start, Turn Off Computer. This laptop is using Vista, and I cannot find anything comparable. Last night I turned it off using the off-on button, so got the Windows did not shut off properly message when I turned it on; and I have a "thing" about leaving my computer on overnight. Also, is there a way of hiding all the command bars to "hide" like you can with the taskbar on the bottom?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running Office Home and Student 2007 and have just run a diagnostic which suggests that my installation is not up to date and that I go to the Microsoft Update site and download any available updates. When I do, I am asked to sign on with 'Microsoft Update'. The idea is, I think, to combine this Microsoft Update with my Windows Update and let Office updates come though along with updates for Vista, IE, etc. I have posted here before with issues concerning updates including a fiasco I had last November which involved Office updates and am wondering, since Office seems to be working well at the moment (I was bored so I did a diagnostic ) should I bother with this or just leave it? Does Office have security issues like IE and Vista?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an old-school program that creates its directory at a hard-corded directory in C's root (C:xxx). Now, I don't want to run it with administrative privileges, I changed the directory's security permissions to (everyone - full control) and make them inherited to all its sub-directories. The program reads & writes fine with existing files. But the program creates a c file inside its directory and tries to let a C compiler on a network drive compile it. That 92s when the problem comes in. It creates the c file all right, but the c compiler cannot read it (saying =93permission denied=94). If I turn UAC off, I don 92t get errors, but I don 92t want to turn it off.
