Need How to show my pictures on MY TV. I have an ethernet cable connected to my Dish Receiver. Dish says I am properly connected to my Broadband. I have searched for a how to show pictures from my computer on my TV.
For some reason, whenever i now go to open a picture, WPG opens up, but doesnt show the picture, instead the cursor just has the spinning loading circle. Side question - In my User Folder, the Documents folder has for some reason lost its icon and its now a normal looking folder, what gives ?
I have saved about 3000 photos in my computer under a folder called photos. But since some weeks, my computer is changing the original look of my pictures to very ugly views. I meant sometimes when I open my photo folders, suddenly some pictures are getting discoloured automatically. Sometimes the pictures are cutting to two pieces automatically. If the picture's background is green, sometimes it is changing to red, yellow or some other colour. But after this happened, I cannot get them back to it's original view at all. I don't know what's happening here. Already I have lost lot of my important photos because of this, and I even haven't saved them somewhere else. I already have deleted them from my camera too. Since I bought this computer, I am getting lot of problems in this. I don't know if it is because of VISTA or any other Hardware problem on this computer.
My Maxtor One Touch 4 external hard drive is acting up. I'm getting an error message from the Maxtor software that there is no partition or that the partition is not recognized and is telling me to format the drive. I do not want to do this yet because I do not want to lose my data. I've been looking at some data recovery programs to try to recover the data. When I first downloaded the recovery program, it saw the hard drive but then I had to pay to recover the data. So then I downloaded a free data recover program and now I can not get the hard drive to show up...on neither of the recovery programs. It does not show up in My Computer, but does show up in Device Manager. how I can get this to show up in my computer again or to show up on a "drive search" in one of the recovery programs? I really do not want to pay the expensive fees to have a "professional" recovery service do it.
I have a windows vista home premium 64 and a mac os leapord and both connected to same router/network. IP addresses are fine. I can connect to shared folders/drives from the pc to the mac, but the mac does not show up in the network folder on my windows vista machine.
I'm certain that I screwed up and somehow denied myself access to everything under the C: root. C: and all its files fails to show up when I go to computer. Actually, I'm fairly certain that I did this to myself when, due to my great lack of understanding on how to manipulate permissions, I messed things up while trying to give myself permission to do something with my shortcut to computer. I naively fooled around with properties>security.
I had to reinstall Windows Vista Ultimate which prior to the reinstall had SP 1 installed. After this reinstall SP1 does not show in computer properties. Is SP1 still available somewhere on the computer for upgrading or will I have to use Windows Update to apply it?
Now. Two days ago, a Trojan got into my computer and latched itself onto Internet Explorer and the security center, posing as a security alert for Vista. I was able to open up the main virus scanner I use (AVG free edition) and root out the Trojan, isolate it, and destroy it. The only problem is that it seems to have corrupted the security center and done other things, too. Whenever I try and open up a program normally, I get the "Chose the program you want to use to open this file" screen, with IE as the only option (even if I'm trying to open IE) unless I select the Run As Administrator tab. Windows Defender is turned off, too, and its alert says "contact your system admin to enable Windows Defender via group policy".
I thought I should post this here, because it seems to be primarily be a problem with the security of the computer. Ever since removing the Trojan the computer slows down and eventually freezes when it is connected to the Internet. Is there anything I can do, or do I have to reinstall Vista (which I'm unsure about, because my laptop came with Vista pre-installed and the Vista disc I have belongs to someone else)?
I have a WD 3,5 Hard drive and I bought I case so I could make it external. However, when I connect it to my laptop, running on Vista Home Premium x64 SP2 it does not work. The drive is seen by Vista (it shows up in the Disk Management section in Computer Management) but it does not show up in My Computer. In Disk Management it appears Disk 1, Dynamic, Invalid, with a red downwards arrow. As I have all my info there a soluyion that requires a format is not an option.
I've just recently encountered a problem connecting to the internet with my notebook and when I check to see what was wrong my computer says I'm not connected to any networks. So when I try to connect my computer doesn't show my wireless network it says a cable is not plugged into the network adapter 'local area connection". However everything is plugged in and my mom's notebook has no problem. Also it says that my computer doesn't have a wireless adapter installed and configured but it does and when I go to the properties it says the device is working properly. I don't know what to do anymore. I've restarted my computer and unplugged and replugged the cable and disabled and enabled the adapter.
I have recently had strange pixilated images mixed in with our photos when playing music and selecting slide show, our photos appear along with random images, they are not coming from MY PICTURES folder as i have right clicked when the odd pic appears and they are coming from random folders that i can't find.
I thought the strange graphics were coming from itunes or Tom Tom so i have uninstalled them both...but the images keep coming. How do i stop media center looking and producing these annoying images
All the pictures in my Pictures folder have disappeared, leaving behind a bunch of empty folders. I did not delete them, and I have no viruses according to AVG. It appears that this happened to a few others on this forum, but no solutions were presented. I noticed that the Read Only button was checked on the main folder, so I unchecked it, and I watched the status window un-apply "read only" protection from all my actual pictures files, so it seems to me that they're still there but invisible.
I performed a system restore, and Recova is in the process of performing a "Deep Scan" for my pictures (the quicker scan did not find the files). Has anyone solved the problem of the disappearing pictures? Is this a Vista problem, or perhaps a problem with an update?
Is my first post and i have a problem with avi file icon. I am from Cyprus and my english its not very good. Some of my avi files show a picture and some others show a black icon. I did not have this problem before. Before all my avi files show a picture. I have K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (new version). I try Vista Codec but i can solve it. If you don't understand my english, one of the moderators please delete my post.
I can't find my Pictures amywhere on my hard-drive. I'velooked in "C:usersduncsdocumentsPictures", but I don't have a folder called "documents", or indeed one called "Pictures".In Explorer, under 'Desktop | Duncs' I have the following, among otherthings:Documents - This has a location of G:I don't however, have anything for 'Pictures' or 'My Pictures'. WhenI do a search on my G: drive, for .JPG files, it lists all thepicture files that I have so where are they? Displaying the folder shows the following-"My Pictures (G", but still I can't find them. There is no folder called 'My Pictures' or 'Pictures' on the G: drive. If I try to right-click and open location, I get the message "G: My Pictures is not accessible. The directory name is invalid."

Before the computer actually came to the point of "shuting down just before it tried to load the o/s" it literrly kept shuting down on its own randomly for a week or so. Then the blue screen appeard with this error: 0x0000007BC , 0x84C5DBA0, 0x0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 "Run CHKDSK /F and check for Hard Drive Corruption and then restart your computer"
Basically it's telling me the DRIVE is corruptet! Well, I plugged that SATA 2 HDD into my other computer (windows xp), detected it correctly and actually formated the drive and reinstalled XP on it without any types of problem. Does it still mean - SATA 2 is corrupted or broken!? How about the RAM then ... indeed, I did run the MemTest for 7 times and no errors were found. So the RAM are ok in this case, or am I wrong?! Maybe it's the PSU... ermmm no that cannot be 'cos the computer never shuts down, if I leave it run for (e.g 5 hours) and even if it's comes to "overheating" that cannot be the case eather, as its *again" never shuts down when you leave it run on the power.........
I have been trying to send JPEG files by email unsuccessfully. I get no error message the only sign they haven't gone out comes when the folks I'm mailing say they never arrived. These are not large files (472kb).
Is it maybe the security either in the Vista or the Norton? I can't figure out what or what to do to fix it. I'm a facepainter, I NEED to be able to send pictures.
I am having the hardest time trying to catagorize & rename my pictures. Everytime I go to a picture file in my document files, I highlight the pictures that I want to rename. Then when I click rename & type the name of the pics that I want labeled, it scrambles the pictures in a different order & the numbers of the pics are pic 1, pic 1, pic 2, pic 2, etc, etc.
I am having the same problem as Scubiekim - except I DO use Windows Vista. When I put a CD-R in the drive, and try to burn pics onto it, it tells me I can't. Then every 5 minutes since I've tried, I get a balloon on the bottom of my screen saying "You have files waiting to be burned to disc. To view files, click this balloon". I then click the balloon, and nothing happens. I know it's not a problem with the CD, since I have other pictures on it, and it's not full. The pics I'm trying to work with are JPEG files, the same as the pics that are already on the disc.
my "Pictures" folder, the whole thing, not just the contents got moved to the Music section. I guess I accidently dragged it there or something. I noticed it, wondered it something was wrong. So, I clicked on the start orb and clicked on my pictures. It was still there. So, I deleted the folder that was in my music section and now the whole pictures folder is gone. I tried the "shell:mypictures, but here's the thing... it seems it creating the folder on my DESKTOP. I do NOT want it there. When I delete the folder from my desktop, this is the message it gives me
I searched the forums, but i haven't seen any problem such as mine. I first saw it with the Help and Support program, but it has also appeared in Combat Arms (game) and in Internet Explorer. See attachments to see what i mean. If you need any further information, just post what.
I use my computer to scan pictures or look at stuff on ebay. I would say I am on the computer 2 hours a month. I have a hp 2200 all in one printer that worked fine with my old cheap $400.00 computer. My husband thought he would be nice and buy me an upgrade I now have an $1100.00 computer that won't scan pictures and after two months and more time than I have ever spent on a computer I am finding out this is not uncommon.
About 25% of the pictures I have become compressed, that is, vista decides to smush the sides together so that I essentially have a column of color where I should have a picture. Entering Paint and saving the picture in paint solves the problem, but how do I keep it from happenning and/or fix multiple pictures at once?
Every day in my "recently changed" file under "DOCUMENTS" I receive hundreds of unwanted pictures. It seems as if they are snapshots from a tv news show.
Suddenly for some reason, I am not able to Print any pictures from Windows Photo Gallery After Clicking on Photos, and highlighting them, and then clicking on Print at top of panel, the picture will come up full size with panel of options - I click on Print at bottom of panel and blue line runs across under photo saying it is printing, but it never does.
I got the "Windows Explorer has stopped working" error. For me, it pops up as soon as I log into my account so I have no access to the start menu, anything at all like that. Once I log in, it goes to a grey screen where the error pops up. Unfortunately, I hadn't been using System Restore so that's not an option for me. I don't mind reformatting, but all I really want off my hard drive are all of my pictures. I was wondering if there's any way to access my image files by running some sort of command in the CMD window.
Something strange occured on my computer. Within last week everything in MyPictures folder (except link to Sample Pictures) lost somehow. I did not find any traces of my 3000+ photos in Recycle Bin, in neighbouring locations of Windows Explorer tree and even searches of lost (deleted) files with some freeware recovery soft. Could it be some of the recent updates, after what my computer was restarting automatically? Has anyone any clue, where to search or how to avoid such of surprises in the future? I had some backups on external devices, but not all...
Suddenly my labtop with vista primum and ie7 browser loading pages but missing the fotos and images !! i click refresh some fotos reappear and others dont I have't done or add anything to my comp what would be the problem ??
When I reboot my computer through Windows the computer shuts down correctly, but then the monitor remains black and the bios starts beeping out the error code for "VGA not detected". Why would this be? I am forced to press the power button and wait from 5 to 10 minutes to reboot normally. (I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate x64, have an ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard and a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 280. 800 watts ZION power supply) Is this a BIOS settings or GPU problem? I already reseated the GPU. Could it be a power supply failure?
