I CAN NOT FIND any account every where I have looked. For example. Start, All Programs, then click on windows live and then click windows Live Mail. the click Tools and accounts. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows Live Mail account and a Yahoo account and they both show up on the left hand side of my Window Live Mail account so I can choose which account I want to use or, for example, which inbox to look in. At the bottom, also on the left hand side of my Windows Live Mail account, it shows 'Add e-mail account', which is what I want to do with a new 'AOL' account and I want it to show on the left hand side like the two other accounts.
So I made a new AOL e-mail account, clicked 'Add e-mail account' at the bottom of my 'Windows Live Account', then I put in my new AOL e-mail account and password where it showed me. Then I clicked next.
The next page was all about my email server. When I did this before with a new e-mail account, it was all filled out automatically for me, but this time, all the blanks were left open and I have no idea what to fill in. I believe once I have this information, the AOL e-mail account will automatically then show on the left hand pane of my Windows Live Mail account below the other two accounts.
I want to set up my e-mail account on Windows Vista Home Premium. I use earthlink as my provider. When asked about POP3 and SMTP, I don't know where to access that info. I think POP3 is where it's at, but where can I find the other. This is so frustrating because this info should be close at hand.

I have several folders set up on my AOL Windows Mail accont so don't want to have to set up a new windows mail account as I will lose allmy folders. And my account settings are set to "view all mail". even wehn I press "send & receive" none of my old inbox emails are being shown up.
I got a new computer last year and it has Windows vista. That has Windows mail. My ISP is verizon but I don't have an email aaccount for verizon. The email address I get by defaut on Windows mail is Yahoo.com. I have no idea what the POP3 and SMTP are for my Windows mail account. I tried incoming.verizon.net which is verizon's POP3 and outgoing.verizon.net which is verizon's SMTP but nothing works. Some retarded error always comes up. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem -- just bought a computer at SAM's Club, an HP with Windows Vista Home Premium, fresh out of the box, but when I got it home and set it all up and loaded on data from an old computer I found out it had what I believe is a hidden user account already on it. There was an email account for "Bill" somebody (I deleted that email acct and set up a new one for my wife - it's her computer), and when I try to link to this computer from mine using Windows Explorer, looking at her computer on the Network, instead of seeing the account I set up for "Julie" I still see the files listed under the user "Bill". I'm worried this guy set up some secret way to access the computer. I think probably not, but I don't know. And, even if not, I'd like to delete the "Bill" account. 2 questions ... 1) should I return this computer? Am I in danger of someone having left some kind of "backdoor" to get into the computer? If not, how do I get rid of the hidden "Bill" user account?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a fresh Vista machine and this is my first time using Vista. When I start Windows Mail, which seems to work fine, I eventually have to shut down 3 series of popup windows having to do with the installation of Microsoft Outlook 2007, which I do not want installed because, apparently, the version which came with my Vista Home Premium OEM is trial only and I can only start it a limited number of times before it expires (as I found out when I opened Word). In any case, I checked, and Windows Mail is set as my standard default program for email and newsgroups; I cannot make it the default because it already is. Does anyone know what is going on and what I must do to correct things?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWe bought a Sony laptop running Vista home for my father and set it up for him. Unfortunately he died before he could use it, so I have inherited it. It was distressing seeing his name all over the thing, so I created a new user account in my name, logged in as that and then deleted the old account in his name. A warning did come up saying that he was still logged in and some data may be lost, but as there wasn't much there I went ahead anyway. All the files under his account had disappeared (including one or two I realised i wanted) as had all his settings and even some software setups. Nothing in the recycle bin; I have run a couple of lost file recovery programs which only find files that have been consciously deleted. Where have his files gone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe bought a new laptop yesterday. Until now we both had our own. So we both have our own stuff we want to move there. We set up two accounts, both with admistrator permissions. But we would like those accounts to not "work" together. Like for example, we don't want our pictures, music etc to be seen from the other ones account. But now it does. We both want to put them to the D drive and only see our own stuff. Because it gets really confusing with the amount of stuff we have. So when I go somewhere, I only want to see the things I have put there, not his things. How do we do this? Also I noticed that if he or I remove something from the desktop, it goes away from the other account as well. That is really not something I want. I want the accounts to sort of work like two different computers.

View 6 Replies View RelatedUse Windows Mail in conjunction with that e-mail address for a long time now. Two days ago it suddenly decided that it required me to sign in to be able to retrieve/send my mail. I have entered my username and the correct password in a whole heap of different ways but it just keeps rejecting anything I type in even though I know that they are correct. I have even checked all the settings against my husband's computer and they are the same other than the username and yet he can still use his Windows Mail account but I can't - it is so infuriating considering that I run a business from home and I need access!
