About 5 days ago my windows mail (in Vista) stopped having clickable hyperlinks. I thought if you went to the "advanced" section in the tool dropdown menu, there was a spot to reset that but when I did, the list of advanced was much shorter than I remember it being in the past?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Windows Mail, and Vista Home Premium. I send out a regular newsletter, in which there are many items, each having a title that is a hyperlink, with a bit of text below - so anyone wanting to read more on a particular topic can click on the link to get the whole story.
I copy the whole email many times, to send out in batches of perhaps 15 addresses (as I have been told this is better than sending out to hundreds at a time, to avoid being spam). In the first email, or even the first several, all the hyperlinks worked fine. I tested them using my own email, and another account I have on a different system.
Whenever I click on a link in an opened e-mail, I get a dialog box that says "Windows can't find "(path name)'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again." I know it is because I don't have a browser window open and it takes a couple of seconds for the browser to open and that's why I get the message. If I have an internet browser window open, I don't get this dialog box. It's just annoying and I'm wondering if there is some fix for this. By the way, I use Firefox as my default browser.

If I cut 'n paste the same link into the IE address bar - they work fine. I'm running Windows Mail with Vista HP. I never had this problem with OE on my previous XP machine. Anyone any ideas why these links aren't working?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI keep getting these spam emails from random valid email addresses telling me I have X amount of dollars waiting for me in a online casino. Every time i delete and block the emails address i get another from another email address generated. Its obviously spyware, I have run AVG and spybot and it hasnt fixed the problem. I cant adjust my spam filters cause sometimes theres important emails which get IDd as SPAM by accident. Is there anyway to fix this?
View 8 Replies View Relatedmove files from an XP to a Vista machine and exported all of his Outlook Express email, copied that file to the desktop on the Vista machine, then imported it into Vista's email program. However the folder for email is now on his desktop, and is called Old Email backup. I know that one of these days he is going to delete it and wonder where his email went. What is the default folder it should have created the email in? I will move it there.

Control panel default settings will not allow option to disable Windows Mail. (grayed out). Register Hotmail software says only Vista but I am using Vista. Also cannot open old email program (Windows Mail) : getting error message MSOE.DLL 0x8007002: Checked and followed all advice on forums. Have also stopped virus software from scanning emails.

But if I do a select all the blank space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs, the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to "having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their website. I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools Spyware doctor. Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems. The only problem I am having is from commercial sites. And yes I even added them to my allow list.

i have a laptop connected to the same wireless router & it works fine,
but it is using outlook.
I now have a brand new HP m9100z and can not get email to work at all. My other machine is an HP s3123w aka "slimline". Both run windows vista home premium. On the slimline, email works just fine. On the new machine, nadda. Zip, zero. Can not get email to work using any client I have.
Thunderbird, windows mail, forte agent, all say "login failed". Even though both machines are setup exactly the same. The difference in the two machines is that the new one now has a wifi card and dual ntsc tuners. My domain works fine through browsers so I can get email through the website. Just can't do it on this machine. So what tricks can I try to get email to work?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have 4 computers, all have Windows XP. I recently replaced the 1st which was my Laptop with a Dell XPS that runs Vista. Since then my email accounts started having problems. I can only receive email on one account. but was able to receive all email accounts one the main Desktop which is wired to the router. Now I have replaced this desktop with a new one it also runs Vista, and now the same thing has happened; I only receive email from one account. I tried deleting all accounts and set them all up again same problem. I have MS Office 2003 which has office outlook and it to does the same thing. I tried deleting accounts on both trying to single out the possibility of conflict, but still no luck.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my MS Office suite 2003 on my new PC (Belarc analysis below). Two issues that have been coming up for me are that my email settings in Outlook won't allow me to bring in my email (IMAP/SMTP set up) and the second is that any time I try to change my office assistant it keeps telling me I don't have enough memory (!). What's going on with this? After all, this is a 3 GB machine, things that worked on my 1 GB shouldn't have a problem.
