Bluescreen And Memory Dump.

Mar 23, 2008

I've been using Windows Vista Ultimate for about a half year now and i keep getting bluescreens. I am uncertain of the reason and i don't know how i open the .mdmp files that are left in the folder of the program that crash my comptuer. Some time ago, vista actually solved the problem and said something about my RAM being in conflict with my motherboard or processor.

Bluescreen With Memory Dump On Startup

Jul 29, 2009

I have a new Dell Studio with a Intel Core Duo, 4 GB of Ram, 320 GB HD, and am running vista 64 bit as my main OS. I have had this problem before. If I leave it unplugged long enough for the battery to die when I go to boot the next time I'll get a blue screen and a memory dump before I even get to the password prompt. In the past, the quick fix I used was to load the recovery counsole and do a system restore. I need to find what the cause of the problem is to further prevent and because I can no longer get to the recovery counsole. I recsently partitioned my hard drive into three partitians. A primary partitian that I run vista 64 on and keep most of my documents. The other two partitians I loaded with windows 7 RC and Server 2008 RC, both of which I am doing tseting with. My issue now is that when I try to load the recovery counsole, it takes me back to the top of the boot load menu (where I can pick which OS I want to load.)

Check The Memory For Errors BEFORE I Load/install Windows Vista Home Premium X64 To Avoid Install Hang-ups

May 25, 2008

I would like to check the memory for errors BEFORE I load/install Windows Vista Home Premium x64 to avoid install hang-ups. Can you make an ISO CD of this program, load it in your CD/DVD drive and check your memory for errors? I recently updated the BIOS on the board (DP35DP) and it does show all of the 4GB of Kingston ValueRam PC800 1.8v (2x2gb) installed. I have good reason to believe that it's from a respectable manufacturer. Just want to make sure the memory is good before I load up the OS.

0x00000123 Stop Error Physical Memory Dump

Jun 15, 2008

0x00000123 stop error physical memory dump. I searched it on google and to avail a few people fixed it by over-clocking, I'm not sure if they over-clock their memory or CPU though, also I don't like over-clock, anyone wanna help me figure this out? I can give any information needed. I'm also concerned about my CPU's voltage:

it's reading 1.27 right now which seems high concidering people with the Q6600 have around 1.27 X_X. Also what settings in the BIOS goes with RAM and CPU over-clocking? like I said though XP runs fine, Vista does do this.

Exploring, Memory DiagnosticsIf Vista Detects A Memory

Feb 23, 2007

Memory DiagnosticsIf Vista detects a memory problem in your system such as a faulty RAM module, it will display a notification asking if you want Vista to try to diagnose the problem. Then again you may also recieve the sudden BSOD with the error MEMORY MANAGMENT at the top. You can manually run this tool anytime just typememory in the search box inside the start menu. This tool offers you two options: restarting immediately and checking for problems, or running next time you reboot your machine (the memory diagnostic tool must run at boot time).

Network DiagnosticsWindows Vista also allows you to check the connectivity of your network connection using the Network Diagnostics Framework: An infrastructure and a set of built-in and extensible components that attempts to automatically diagnose and correct network connectivity problems. The usual way to run this check is to open Network Center and click the Diagnose Internet Connection link on the left Vista will either identify ............

Vista 64 Installed Physical Memory Vs Total Physical Memory

Mar 26, 2009

I'm running Vista 64 Home (SP1) Premium on a homebuilt machine w/8GB (4 X 2GB modules). Windows is reporting 8 GB of Installed Physical Memory but is reporting only 4 GB of Total Physical Memory. I first noticed this when, after installing a game, the game system specs said 3092 MB of RAM.

I have checked the BIOS and it recognizes 8 GB. Memory Remapping is Enabled. Under Memory Remapping is "PCI MMIO Allocation: 4GB to 3328 MB" (?). MSConfig Boot Options shows Max Memory is not checked and no value in the box below. I tried enabling it and using 8192 as the value, but it made no difference. DxDiag shows 8 GB installed RAM. how I can get windows to make available all 8 GB of RAM? (Motherboard is ASUS Maximus II Extreme w/Intel Q9550 processor running at Q9650 clock speed, memory running at 1127 MHz

Memory Upgrade: Install Additional 2Gb, I Get A Blue-screen Every Time I Boot

Mar 23, 2008

Am running Vista 64 Business on XFX 680i Sli LT with 2Gb ram, Quad core 6600, 600GT video. System runs fine, but I want more memory to help performance. When I try to install additional 2Gb, I get a blue-screen every time I boot (some blue screens have an IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, most have no error msg). Is there a way to determine if my installation of Vista already has this installed? I've already checked the Control Panel/Windows Update/Review Update History, it's not in there, I thought it may be in the core install on the DVD?

VISTA Out Of Memory

Mar 25, 2009

After about 10 minutes of using my laptop with vista, Vista runs out of memory, ie I cannot copy/move anything, some windows appear blank (e.g. when I go to "my computer" -- properties). The error message it shows when I even try to copy one 6Mb-file is "out of memory" - "there is not enough memory to complete this operation". I have done the following things:

- I check the memory via task manager, and there is more than enough RAM available
- my pagefile setting is on "automatic"
- I tried to install the MS hotfix, but it says "update does not apply" (I guess it is included in SP1, which I already have.)

I do NOT have Kaspersky installed, nor am I trying to copy/move up to 16000 files. It simply happens after about 10 minutes of simple operations, such as word processing and playing short video clips, and vista does not allow me to do ANY copying/moving.

Vista 64bit Hungry For Memory

Mar 23, 2008

I've just installed another 2 Gig of RAM because Vista ultimate 64bit is quite hungry for memory. In the windows experience index I had a score of 5.6 out of 5.9, with the 2 gig of memory bringing it down to 5.6, the rest of the hardware scoring top at 5.9 I thought that by installing 4 gig in total my memory score would go up to 5.9 too, but can you believe it, it's dropped to 5.5!(BTW - exactly the same brand as the previous 2 sticks that were in there before Corsair XMS2 DDR2 TwinX matched PC6400)
