Unstable Freezes Blue Screen Data Dump

Apr 15, 2008

I recently used a VISTA compatible utility (TWEAK VI) to sort and clean my registry. I then added several new applications, including Office 2007. My system has now become very unstable and often freezes, does a blue screen data dump, or just shuts down with no explanation. I am to far removed from the registry clean to reach a restore point for it, so I am hoping there is a repair option on the VISTA install disk, like the XP disk has. So far the only option I find is to reinstall the whole program.

Crash Out Of The Blue Screen

Nov 6, 2008

The system has been stable for some time but today while working in Excel I got an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0A BSOD, rebooted and within 5 minutes got SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 3B BSOD and now getting this repeatedly. My best guess right now is that a stick of RAM has failed so have removed all but one 2GB stick and no crashes so far - will run some memory tests on each stick in turn tomorrow. I really hope that's all it is (& I can get it replaced under warranty!) and it's not a mobo fault.

The BIOS did go into recovery mode when I tried to enter it, that's okay now but the raid 5 array is re-initialising as a result . The auto memory timings have never matched the spd (slower) but that never bothered me but I think I'll manually set to the stated timings of 4-4-4-12 depending on what the tests reveal. Only real SW change apart from usual MS updates is I installed VMC TV Pack and USB wifi adapter a few days ago but I'd have expected to see this sooner if that was the cause. From what I've read a 3B is more likely hardware anyway?

Crash! Blue Screen Of Death

Sep 20, 2009

Vista suddenly would not boot yesterday. Getting BS of Death errors: c000021a and c000012f at times. First it reported it was unable to find ADVAPI32.DLL. Upon doing diagnostics after hitting F8 during startup, it says error code 2000-0146 with Hard Drive 1. What the heck is going on, and how do I fix this? Dell Inspiron 1525, manufactured 7/2008. Of course, warranty ran out...go figure. Vista Home Premium. Will *never* buy another Dell again. Nothing but problems with every one of them.

Install 2gb Goes Blue Crash Screen

Dec 26, 2008

I am new to this forum so I hope you'll be patient with me. I have a MSI MS-163C laptop with 2GB of RAM and a Intel Dual Core Processor. I have received a copy of Vista Ultimate 64 Bit addition as part of my MAPS subscription and thought that would give it a go, my current version is 32 bit. I have researched and found that 3 to 4GB of RAM is recommended for 64 bit so I purchased 2 x 2GB sticks from FutureShop [Buffalo DDR II / 667mhz PC2 5300 However, anytime that I install any more than the 2GB already in the computer the computer goes to a "Blue" crash screen and I can't go any further. I checked the ram that is in the computer and they are 1GB sticks 667mhz, pretty much the same. If I take both of them out and install just one of the 2GB sticks the computer seems OK, but even if I install a 1GB with it to make it 3GB it crashes again. I am trying to determine for myself it this might be a BIOS problem or what,

Multiple Blue Screen Crash Dumps

Mar 26, 2008

I can no longer take the multiple blue screen crash dumps. I have 32-bit Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavilion. After seeing those internal emails among Microsoft's top executives that were released in a lawsuit a couple of weeks ago -- they were complaining to each other about the same problems on their home computers with peripherals and drivers that I've been having -- I called HP tech this morning and said I want to install XP Professional and that I have a licensed copy on disk.

The HP tech guy, based in Oregon rather than India for a change, said all I had to do was copy the files I want to keep onto my external hard drive and then put the XP disk in the machine and it will direct me to format the hard drive.....and then install. I recall reading somewhere that the chipsets or something in the guts of this machine -- I'm not a techie -- are designed for Vista and will not accept XP without some serious tinkering at the motherboard/chipset neurosurgery level.

Blue Screen Memory

Feb 11, 2009

so i'm sat there playing City of heroes having a good time, etc. Then randomly the screen freezes. The sound is still playing normal but my screen becomes a still. This could be because of the game etc. So i continue playing and then my game starts to lag extremely badly and a blue screen pops up.I don't have time to take a photo or read it fully to understand whats going on. Heres a screenshot of what came up after my PC restarted. This is probably not enough information for you to help me with the problem. next time it happens (quite frequently) ill try jot down the codes. From memory i believe it says something about my hard drive and memory.

Active Crash Dump Primary Partition

Jun 7, 2008

Using Vista Home Premium, tried Kubuntu. I removed Kubuntu but can't seem to reclaim the partion it was on. I go to Vista Disk Management and find 4 partitions on Disk 0: Recovery (D 4.12 GB Fat 32 Healthy Primary Partition This is the Recovery partition from Gateway.(C 183.14 GB NTFS Healthy (System, Boot, Page File, Active Crash Dump, Primary Parition) 185.34 GB Free Space no further info on this space I want to reclaim the 185.34 g back into the C partition. the only option I get on the Free Space drive is to delete drive or "new simple Volume". C: drive i get only the shrink option.

Deleting the drive won't help and I'm not sure what Simple volume does. The C: Drive has the option to Shrink but thats not going to work either! I tried repairing the problem using the Vista Setup disk but that didn't help either. I still have the Kubuntu disk not sure if there is anything there that would be helpful? I'm thinking i'll need something like Partition Magic, is there a free version of this type of software? I don't plan on doing anything with partitions after this so there is no sense in buy a product.

Home Basic Memory Upgrade To 4gb - Blue Screen

Memory Upgrade: Install Additional 2Gb, I Get A Blue-screen Every Time I Boot

Mar 23, 2008

Am running Vista 64 Business on XFX 680i Sli LT with 2Gb ram, Quad core 6600, 600GT video. System runs fine, but I want more memory to help performance. When I try to install additional 2Gb, I get a blue-screen every time I boot (some blue screens have an IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, most have no error msg). Is there a way to determine if my installation of Vista already has this installed? I've already checked the Control Panel/Windows Update/Review Update History, it's not in there, I thought it may be in the core install on the DVD?

Bluescreen With Memory Dump On Startup

Jul 29, 2009

I have a new Dell Studio with a Intel Core Duo, 4 GB of Ram, 320 GB HD, and am running vista 64 bit as my main OS. I have had this problem before. If I leave it unplugged long enough for the battery to die when I go to boot the next time I'll get a blue screen and a memory dump before I even get to the password prompt. In the past, the quick fix I used was to load the recovery counsole and do a system restore. I need to find what the cause of the problem is to further prevent and because I can no longer get to the recovery counsole. I recsently partitioned my hard drive into three partitians. A primary partitian that I run vista 64 on and keep most of my documents. The other two partitians I loaded with windows 7 RC and Server 2008 RC, both of which I am doing tseting with. My issue now is that when I try to load the recovery counsole, it takes me back to the top of the boot load menu (where I can pick which OS I want to load.)

0x00000123 Stop Error Physical Memory Dump

Jun 15, 2008

0x00000123 stop error physical memory dump. I searched it on google and to avail a few people fixed it by over-clocking, I'm not sure if they over-clock their memory or CPU though, also I don't like over-clock, anyone wanna help me figure this out? I can give any information needed. I'm also concerned about my CPU's voltage:

it's reading 1.27 right now which seems high concidering people with the Q6600 have around 1.27 X_X. Also what settings in the BIOS goes with RAM and CPU over-clocking? like I said though XP runs fine, Vista does do this.
