Dec 21, 2008i was installing my farcry 2 pc game on my computer but suddenly i got a blue screen and then i heard my hard drive loose speed and automatic restart why tis happen (after the restart everything was back to normal i install the game and play perfectly) i am using windows vista x32bit ultimate. here is the report

Blue Screen After Microsoft Auto Updates
Sep 3, 2009I let Vista do two updates on my Tosh A300-1BZ Laptop - I think 1 was an IE8
compatibility update, the second a windows defender patch and the third (enabled in error) was a "windows live essentials" update which I cancelled half way through (by hitting Cancel and then Yes etc).
The updater reported two updated done one cancelled and requested a reboot.
After re-boot all I get after the initial Microsoft "bar graph" loading icon is a blue screen and "STOP: c0000139 (Entry Point Not Found) The procedure entry point ntoskrnl.Ex1AcquireFastMutex could not be located in the dynamic link library HAL.dll."
I've tried using repair windows using F8 and from a Vista Ultimate DVD (which reports no errors) and using system restore to a previous point which reports success but on re-boot the laptop still blue screens with the same report.
Blue Screen After Shutdown - Auto Reboot
Feb 6, 2009I've ran BitDefender Total Security 2009 and got off a few trojans, ran Spybot and got a few as well. I've also ran the cmd prompt command sfc/scannow (with no issues), but I am still getting a blue screen after I shutdown. After it automatically reboots, I get a Windows prompt saying it has recovered from an unexpected shutdown, here is the report: I've zipped and attached (the attachment system doesn't seem to work, so I uploaded it to MediaFire) all of the files that it says could help describe the problem. Apr 18, 2009I shut down my computer during a windows update and now every time I restart I get a blue screen message that lasts for about a second and then my computer restarts itself again. It does this every time. I'm operating in safe mode right now. I'm sorry if this sounds vague, I'm not very good with computer terms and stuff, but I'll give more details if I need to.

Feb 24, 2010After working well for months, my Vista Home Premium x64 system has developed a bad bug: Every time I try to do Shutdown or Restart, right after displaying "Shutting down", the system crashes with a Blue Screen of Death message: "SPECIAL_POOL_DETECTED_MEMORY_CORRUPTION" with gdrv.sys as the offending driver. This makes it impossible to do a smooth restart, since I have to do a manual reboot at that point every time.
This behavior does NOT happen in Safe Mode, only in normal mode. That leads me to believe it's a software bug. But I've used verifier.exe and still can't find a driver that's faulty. Verifier.exe can't find anything wrong with gdrv.sys.
Blue Screen Pops Up And Restart
May 15, 2010I just got on my computer about 30mins ago and unplug'd my US Cellular usb port Modem from my desktop and a blue screen pops up and then it restarts. I couldnt tell what was said on the blue screen though because it happend so fast. Anyways heres what pop'd up in a messege when logd into my user (Admin).

Wasnīt A Normal Restart, Blue Screen
Feb 14, 2010while I was playing my computer suddenly restarted but it wasnīt a normal restart cuz the screen just went black and nothing happened, after waiting several minutes I had to shut it down. When I turned it on nothing happened again and my screen went black so I kept trying to restart it andfinally after some attempts I got it to start but while it was loading vista a blue screen appeared and it restarted again. So I managed to restart it on safe mode and I got this blue screen again and a restart. This time the restart was worst cuz it wonīt load anything, the screens just turns black, canīt access the BOOT menu or anything. I manged to take this picture of the blue screen.

Apr 27, 2009I bought an Asus G50-VT with Vista pre-installed. There was some sort of glitch while I was overnighting the download of a long file. Anyway I wound up at what I can only say was the blue screen of death except now it's white. It told me that Windows could not restart and I should insert my installation disk to repair a busted file which it also named. Looked and I had no installation disk, indeed I did not have any Windows disks at all included with the machine. I called Asus Tech Support. They told me that Microsoft no longer lets OEMs ship the windows disks. Although there were two disks called "recovery disks" the TS person said my only option was to hold down f9 to rebootr and WIPE THE DISK AND REINSTALL WINDOWS! So I lost all my data and have spent all morning recovering.
Was Asus right? You do not get install disks anymore even though a system message tells you to insert it? I only have a few days in which I could return this computer. Do other manufacturers like Sony or Hewlett Packard supply Windows Vista installtion disks with their machines? Or is Asus right? If it is just Asus that does not do this I feel I need to return this right away.

Feb 11, 2009so i'm sat there playing City of heroes having a good time, etc. Then randomly the screen freezes. The sound is still playing normal but my screen becomes a still. This could be because of the game etc. So i continue playing and then my game starts to lag extremely badly and a blue screen pops up.I don't have time to take a photo or read it fully to understand whats going on. i dont get why it randomly blue screens during the day.. i have 8gb corsair dominators btw. Just to add, i did a complete system wipe and installed onto a DIFFERENT hard drive, which leads me to think i got hardware issues

When I try to install additional 2Gb, I get a blue-screen every time I boot (some blue screens have an IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL, most have no error msg). Is there a way to determine if my installation of Vista already has this installed? I've already checked the Control Panel/Windows Update/Review Update History, it's not in there, I thought it may be in the core install on the DVD?

Mar 2, 2010I was surfing the net with my girlfriend the other night... playing bingo to be precise, (we are soo rock n roll!) and my computer just turned off.. not instantly like a powercut, but alot quicker than normal shutdown. I turned it back on and was given the options to start in safe mode, safemode with command prompt etc. Well, every option I chose lead to windows starting to load but then a very quick blue screen "flash" ....then it would restart from the beginning again.
I then dug out my vista cd, and told my bios to boot from cd, I would then get a message saying windows is loading files and as soon as the bar flled up the blue screen came back, but this time it stays on the screen. So just to recap, i can't start windows in safe mode, command prompt, or normally, and i can't use my recovery cd. The blue screen i get is: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Mar 2, 2010i m using PC, when suddenly my computer just closed and went to a blue screen with loads of text and stuff, it said stuff like "if this is the first time it has happened to you, just restart normally" and "if you recently installed a software try system restore" something like that.. it didn't say a location from where the error was... like normal "blue screen of deaths", so i wondering if this is just a 1 off kinda thing or something more severe?

Jul 15, 2009I have been playing around with my Vista for some days now. I patched my registry to account for custom visual styles and all. The computer responded fine to all these changes until today. I installed Desktop Maestro 3.0.0.830 which according to the internet is a decent registry cleaner and works with vista sp2.
What I learnt from the net is that desktop maestro will clean registry and will quicken my startup. So i ran it, and it came up with 937 problems in my registry. So the next thing i did was "Repair". and it did just that. But since then my computer hasn't been starting up at all. Before the login screen comes, i get a blue screen, which remains for too short a time for me to read, and reboots.
Turned the computer on in Safe Mode, which worked perfectly. Ran desktop maestro again, and restored the computer to a previous state. This didn't work. it kept saying C: has some errors please check. But the disk check doesnt work.......
Randomly Blue Screen With The Message "MEMORY MANAGEMENT"
Jul 19, 2007After loading a fresh copy of Vista Ultimate, every once in a while my system will randomly blue screen with the message "MEMORY MANAGEMENT"...wtf? I have a 939 board, Athlon X2 4200, 1GB DDR RAM, and 2 hard drives (1-40gig and 1-120gig).do I need a firmware update for my board or something? Also It doesn't seem to happen as often when I put in my thumbdrive and turn on ReadyBoost.

Perhaps 2-3 times a week, and with no consistency of circumstances, a blue screen will appear. It might happen while working or when returning from hibernate. There's a countdown as memory is stored, and then a freeze. The only way to recover is to do a hard OFF (5 seconds on the power switch) and restart. When it first happened, I had not installed or changed anything, so I was comfortable doing a restore. It happened again.
It's confusing because the stated cause is inconsistent. I've checked to ensure that all drivers are updated and nothing that's contraVistarian is installed. What analytical steps can I undertake to discover what's causing this, and then to help me make the necessary changes?

May 5, 2009Now I've had this for, i kid you not, less than a day, and blue screens of death/restarts keep occuring. I have norton 360 running and updated, updated my graphics driver for my 9400, updated everything I could through windows update, and still this problem presists. Sometimes, the blue screen will just briefly flash, then restart and it gives me the option of choosing if i want to go into safe mode or not.Also, i changed some setting on my internet connection, through cmd.exe, i changed everything this video told me to When i attempted to go back and reverse it, it said that elevation was required and the command failed on ipv4.
The blue screens have varied in what they say, they always dump my physical memory so i never get a chance to fully read them. However, they have said all of the following. MEMORY MANAGEMENT Something about a bad page file And a few more i cant remember Right now, my pc runs fine for a while, but most of the time when i boot it up, it says rundll32 has encountered a problem and must close. Sometimes this forces a blue screen to appear sometimes it doesn't. I also thought it may have been heat, but i was runnining my computer fine for 15 hours straight or so when i got it and it was ok, but then showed a blue screen of death for memory management. Currently, it runs in this strange windows 98 style, the icons, toolbar, start menu, everything is windows 98 looking. Also, it displays a rundll32 error and somestimes a windows process error everytime i start up. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said there were no problems.

Feb 13, 2009Problem Blue Screen. No new hardware or software installed recently, last Windows vista update was on 01/15. When I start first, PC passes user registration (boots fine) and
does the normal stuff like loading software and starting the wireless internet connection via Netgear, opening some windows/programms I will close. All normal, but than comes a Blue Screen and very fast shut down of system with restart. Hardly can read the message...Look like Blue Screen appears when to much action is going on like opening of IE and Outlook... or open to many windows... or some bad programm/hardware is booting. But when I restart, restart gives a different blue screens and trouble is much earlier or directly after registering to the system.
But all starting or booting turn slower, real slow now. Start in --safe mode with net working-- the PC works, but the PC can't handle heavy workloads, is really slow in action. I cannot open --My pictures-- to see all picture files displyed on screen (2.7 GB) (the process trying to access the files in safe mode is real slow) and when I attempt to transfer the file to a USB stick, the computer is stopping in middle of action (after 50% transfer)..........

Jun 5, 2008I've been doing a clean install of Vista x64 for about a week and have been getting many random blue screens of deaths yesterday I did another clean install and only had about 4 drivers or so installed and I got a BSOD but no dump file was created for some reason so I kept installing more drivers and it work for about 4 hours till it crahsed again this time it gave me a dump file so here are the results.......

Jan 24, 2010So I accidentally put my computer into sleep mode yesterday (I never normally use it) and now it wont start up! The Keyboard and Mouse are both off, and if i push the power button i can hear the computer start up but both the power and working lights stay off and the screen stays black (nothing happens except I can hear the computer running). Ive tried several hard restarts from the computer and turning off all power then turning it on and nothing works! Its a new computer 4 months old and ive had no problems of this sort ever before. It cant even show me a boot screen or BSOD or anything, "coma" is the best way of describing the problem (it definitely works, i can hear it whirring but it just does nothing).
Safely Remove Hard Disk, Enable Write Cashing On The Disk?
Dec 28, 2008I have four (4) hard disks C: D: E: F: all are connected with sata cable and power cable.(of course) The F: is outside from the pc and connected via external SATA and power cable (like usb NOT usb) I know,with USB external hard disk i can use the safely remove option.
Is there any option to safely remove SATA hard disk without Shut Down the pc?

Hard Disk Disappearing:How Do Regain Hard-earned Gigabytes
Oct 18, 20071. I have a 120GB hard disk that shows a capacity of 105GB. No problems there--I understand that there's a restore partition and GB vs a billion bytes
2. My hard disk says that 54GB is being used.
3. However when I drag and select all folders in my C: and click properties, I only see 28GB of usage. This leaves an unaccounted-for 26GB.
I've just run disk cleanup and cleaned up my shadow copies before verifying all this. Besides at a MAXIMUM, system restore should only eat 15% of my hard disk (18GB). What explains this loss? How do I fight back and regain my hard-earned gigabytes?
Ultimate 64bit SP1- Dumping Monitor Profile
Sep 3, 2008Vista 64bit dumping their monitor's profile on bootup (even though the profile will still be listed as the default profile in the Display Settings.
1. Click Start/System Configuration/Tools/Security Centre
2. Click Launch
3. Click on Firewall in the top left hand corner.
4. Turn off the Firewall and reboot.
The monitor profile should now load as normal. Very odd that this has only started happening with SP1.
Screen Control Wont' Auto Hide
Jan 1, 2009Sometimes when watching a video in vista media center, the screen control's won't auto hide. The mouse cursor also won't disappear like it should when mouse is kept idle. A reboot of PC fixes problem but I'm hoping someone has a solution other than having to restart my computer multiple times in a day.
