I have a Samsung 2253LW wide screen monitor and the highest resolution i can get is an appauling 1280x960. I just took my computer for repair to get a new GFX card and in there shop with my comp running through an old school CRT 15inch monitor i can get a resolution of 1600x1200. As soon as i plug it back into my Samsung at home it can only reach 1280x960 againb. I have contacted Samsung and they are useless as usual. I have the latest Samsung and Nvidia drivers installed.
The screen saver is not working, when we go to the screen saver setting - there is a message - "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or which require Direct 3D" But it was working a day ago.
about amost a year ago i bought an hp pavillion dv6000 and i had no problems with it until i accendently wanted to reformate it thinking i would get the 60 day free trial of MS office again and such but it was the upgrade cd that came along with it and every since i mean ive goten it fixed but still it runs slow and the boot time is extremly slow!
My family is looking to purchase a new Mini DV or Mini DVR (DVD recorder). I actually purchased one, used it for 20 minutes and discovered that it (Samsung) was not compatiable with Vista. Everytime I tried to transfer the video I kept getting a message that the camera is not recongnized. I took the device back to the store. There the salesman told me that this is a common problem and that he was not sure what to recommend. I operate Vista Home Premium. Looking to spend under $300. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am missing out on great moments with my 2 year old.
I have a new Dell Inspiron laptop (Vista) and I'm running it to my Samsung 50" DLP TV (HLN507W). I'm using the TV as the external monitor using a standard 15-pin cable (the TV has a 15-pin input specifically for this application). I can hook up the laptop to the TV and see the desktop on the TV just fine. However, about 30 seconds after I hook the laptop up to the TV, the TV starts to blink (about every second or so). I never had this problem with my old Dell desktop (running XP), and I had the desktop hooked up to the TV for about a year. I've tried all five resolution settings on the laptop, but they all have the same problem. The Samsung manual suggests 1024x768 as the optimal resolution, but again, the same blinking problem results.
I have sahara computer and unable to install vista or xp on system , to reinstall os it takes more an hr and also while formating it give error mess like files are misiing and after format it gives the error mess NTLDR misiing or corrupt , also tired to debug and try os nogo .
Has anyone tried to install Visual Studio 2008 on Vista? Installation crashes and crashes. So does the installation of Express editions. Why cannot a Microsoft program run on a Microsoft operating system
I have various applications which I sell. Written in Visual Studio.net some in 2003, and some in 2008 versions. However the problem is the same with both. The applications have been running successfully on Vista 32 bit, but with Vista 64 bit, this error message appears when the user tries to start the program: Runtime error: An unhandled error has occurred. "An attempt to load a program with an incorrect format, (Exception from HRESULT:0x8007000B)" If the problem persists, please contact your software supplier.
I've been working for days to speed up Vista performance, have been through all the usual performance tweak tutorials (appearance/performance, start-up apps, etc) and am frustrated... In general Vista is not too bad performance-wise, but is very slow to open Internet Explorer and to find the first web page (OK after that), and is verrry sloooow to bring up or close Visual Studio 2008. Intellisense and typing in a project is nearly unusably slow. I have to type a few characters, wait several seconds for intellisense to finally pop up, type a little more, wait again (and again and again.) This box is my new dev box and I'm going to drop it over a cliff rather than work with it the way it is (not! But the temptation is there...)
In googling around, I don't see a lot of other folks having similar issues so I'm assuming that there is a setup or config or software or services or 'some' type of issue that is specific to my machine that can very likely correct the issue and get me back on track. I don't know where to start however, and am seeking some advice on where to start. As stated, I've already disabled all the startups (start up menu, msconfig) that I can, I think, and have already played with the appearance settings, and have even tried raising the priority on visual studio to 'Real Time' via the task manager And yes, things are better than they were, but the slow response time for Intellisense and typing in VS08 is killing me
after installing visual studio 2008, it takes 20-30 more seconds for the windows orb to come after the progress is shown at boot. A black screen with a busy cursor is shown for 20 seconds and then the orb comes. The Visual Studio 2008 is installed without the SQL express option.
I have a vista home pre 64 bit os. I tried to install visual studio 2005 standard edition but i am unable to install as visual studio 2005 is 32-bit supported and my os is 64-bit.
When attempting to instal Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 on my Windows Vista computer, I got the following error: Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite - ENU: [2] ERROR:Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.42",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="ia64"'.
I am trying to install Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition (download from Microsoft Dreamspark: https://www.dreamspark.com/Default.aspx) but every time, I get cab1.cab has an invalid Digital Signature.
This install of Vista was a completely clean install less than a month ago, but it has never been quite right, so I may do another clean install. Everything has been an argument with the computer, a battle of errors and solutions. If I knew the next clean install would be better, I would do one immediately.
I have searched the internet for about a month now, and have tried every solution I have found. I have checked that cab1.cab does indeed have a valid digital signature, it does, and so do all the others I have checked. This has happened with two downloads of the same file iso file. One of them has been tried and tested with this machine before the clean install and several other computers, all immediate successes, so it is not a corrupt iso file.
I have followed every solution on the two Heath Stewart blogs and several more.
I have: Run sfc /scannow. No problems. Defragmented my hard disk. Copied the files to hard disk, run off DVD, run from iso, and repeated with other iso. Disabled all CRL checks using setreg.exe Downloaded the CRL list although my internet has been connected all the time. Done a System Restore, same problem. Used signtool.exe on cab1.cab and others, digital signature validated successfully. I am getting so annoyed now. I am a programmer, and have not written a single line of code for over a month now! Please do not tell me to use Notepad and csc.exe! I cannot even continue with Project Euler: Project Euler
If I thought that I would be able to uninstall it and not cause massive problems later, I would try Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2.
My vista keeps locking up after various amounts of time, no matter whether its just idling, or im making the computer work hard. As ive read on other topics, I think its a driver issue, but I just dont know what to do. I will try another fresh vista install tomorrow and get the vista updates quickly to see whether that helps the situation. I have ensured it isnt overheating like it did initially when I bought the system, and it is now a safe and low temperature in a running state. Also, it only detects 3.5Gb of the 4Gb of RAM I have in my system. PC Spec:
Ive re-installed, windows, and it froze after I installed the chipset driver. I contiuned, and found a sound driver wasnt digitally signed. However it still crashes. I have got the latest drivers for it. For it to crash, all i did was open recycle bin, from idle state.
I shouldn't be surprised but here goes....I checked today for SP1 on windows update.. According to my computer no updates available however updates were last installed on 03/13/08 and yet when you look at installed updates it shows a windows defender update installed today. I have been reading several posts on this problem and have noticed that Carey Frisch posted a link to troubleshoot and now here is a problem and that is none of these apply to me... Once again Go figure!! Running Vista Business 32bit here in the good old USA and of course the English versionVista is and has always been updated right on schedule....
let me start this nightmare story i had just done a fresh restalled and spent hours on getting everything installed on pc all was fine working perfectly untill that is i installed vista service pack 1 from windows updates the update process crashed halfway through so i had the only option to restart my pc then came the blue screen of death and it metioned if you have any new hardware installed make sure all drivers are installed etc etc of course i know it wasnt hardware it was because of me restating my pc half way threw the service pack 1 and the full files not been installed threw the update process crashed was the reason for the blue screen but the blue screen had notes advising me to clear shadow memory in the bois and any other memory so i stupidly assumed this was channel mapping and bank mapping and put them all to zero please see jpeg of what i changed i basically disabled everything that was enabled and put all the mapping channels and bank channels to zero and now when i switch on my laptop i get a blank screen with no post no ...........
In November I upgraded my system with Vista Ultimate. When it was returned to me I followed each prompt and did everything during installation it asked of me. Now 5 months later is states that I need to validate. I guess whatever was running on my system was temporary. Does anyone know that if I purchase a new product key this will solve my issue or do I have to purchase a full version? If I do have to purchase a full version can it be installed over my already installed and running vista on my system?
I have an AMD Comuter. Motherboard ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe WL CPU AMD 5600+ Graphic Card nVideia Ge Force 8600 GT And I had 4 GB DDR2 800 NANYA. All of the sudden, yesterday the computer presentation after the boot showed 3.076 GB when before was showing 4.096 GB. I decided to buy new and Better RAM I bought OCZ2P8004GK, which is consisting of 2 GB every slot. I put 4 of them hoping to see 8 GB, but I still see 3. In the Bios, the MOBO see 8 GB. Why I cannot see in Vista Ultimate 64? And what I can do?
like to how to check and see if i have sp 1 installed in my pc. and do i really need it. i did check in symtem tools information [value] but it is not listed in there. so is that mean that it not installed. i did put a new hhd on the 26 of last month and installed vista.
Several weeks ago I installed Vista Ultimate (from Technet) with the SP1 beta integrated. Now I have later version of SP1 in the form of a stand-alone installer. When I try to install it I get a message saying that SP1 is already installed. How can I install the later version of the service pack? I'd prefer not to do a complete reinstall from my original Vista non-SP disk.
I installed the latest drivers for my 8800 Ultra 768mb, and i have installed the latest patch (1.0.02 or what ever its called, the latest one basicly) and but have no luck with SLI. Do i need to roll back to the driver Nvidia 180.84, bare in mind i have had hardly any probs with the game since installing the latest drivers form Nvidia(part form some lag and chopines - but will be overclocking my quad form 2.5 to 3.0.
I have just received my HP Pavillion with Vista Home Premium and I was checking the system to see if everything was installed as I requested. I'm confused about the RAM. In System Properties, the Memory (RAM)3071 MB, but I ordered 4 GB. Why is only 3 GB listed in the stats? When I questioned tech support, they said that the proper way to check total amount of RAM would be when you start up the computer and tap F(10) for "set-up". When I did that, it showed 4 GB. Tech support said that when you look up the RAM on the OS, you dont get the total amount installed b/c some is being used. Is this correct? I've had horrible experiences with HP tech support so I'm a little sceptical.
I am trying to install an electronic edition of Britannica. Previously, it took about 10 minutes, using 2 CDs on XP Pro.
I did a major upgrade for but did not replace my DVD, CD, Power Supply, or Floppy.
My board is an Intel DG33FB My chip is an Intel Core 2 Dual (e4500) I have 2 GB DDR 667 and one mal-partitioned SATA drive. The Vista portion has 167 GB.
Today, it took aver three hours to copy merely 329 MB of data onto the other partition using my HP 940i DVD writer. the program was not even half done, BTW I got several gray-out screens in the process. I could not do any other work because the darn machine hung.
I have recently bought a new computer from acer with vista and it came with a posiblility to upgrade to win7 (http://www.acer.com/windows7upgrade), but i have a slight problem.
I need to specify which language vista is installed inn or it won't work, i figured it would be norwegian (as i am from norway), but allmost all the menus are in english as well as everything in the start menu ("Computer" instead of "Datamaskin" etc...).
I was wondering if there is an easy way to figure out which language the OS is installed in.
Im not sure if I should put this under update probelms or what, but Im highly confused. I downloaded the Malicious Software Removal Tool, thru Windows Update. (Not a pop up online) After it was done with the update, it restarted my computer, and when it was done, I discovered that it had UN INTSALLED the speakers. The new software hadnt even run yet, so I doubt it had anything to do with that. When I click on the volume icon on my task bar, it says that there is "No Audio Output Device Installed"
Just rebooted med pc, but cant update my videocard. I have a Geforce 8600M GT 51. But when i go to Videosettings, it says VGA-Videocard. I got a drivers cd from my sellsman. When i load i got a lot of drivers to choose. I select "VIDEO" - producer "NVIDA". I download it, and run. It pops-up "Proceed" so yes. But afterwards nothing happens. - The setup vil not run. - so im lost with nothing. Games like Counter-Strike only runs in software mode
Well, theoretically, i purchased Fallout 3 recently and the installation requires x86 architecture to continue. I plan on running vmware with x86 xp pro platform to confirm that it cannot be installed on 64-bit. Although, every recent game seems to run fine under vista ultimate x64.. and considering fallout3 is very new, you think it would work aok =/
