if you are getting these messages when starting windows mail, try checking C:Program FilesCommon FilesSystemwab32.dll and make sure the file is there, if it is missing this is the most likely cause of your problem. replace the file from a healthy vista PC or download it from one of many windows dll replacement sites (google wab32.dll + vista + download) and your windows mail should spring back to life.

MSOE.DLL Can't Be Initialized

Oct 30, 2009

I had a power cut while my windows mail program was running. After the power returned, I can no longer start Windows Mail. I get an error message saying my mail database is in use by an antivirus program (which it isn't) and MSOE.DLL can't be initialized. I've loaded Windows Live Mail, which works, but it doesn't have any of the old messages from Windows Mail, though it has all my contacts, fortunately. How can I get my important old messagesa back?

MSOE.DLL Can't Found

Apr 26, 2008

I will go along for months and windows e-mail works fine. Then one day I can't get into e-mail at all and a box pops up telling me it is use by another program. Before I can do anything else another box pops up sayin that e-mail can't be started because MSOE.DLL cannot be found. If I restart windows all is well again until the next time these boxes show up. There are no other programs running. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to completely restart?

Importing Thunderbird Contacts Into Windows Contacts

Jul 29, 2009

I am having problems importing contacts into Vista Contacts. I tried 2 things :

1/ LDIF
I exported my contacts in Thunderbird under an LDIF format.
I then imported this LDIF file within Contacts
The import stops 1/5 of the way, simply saying that there is an error
in the contacts, and it stays stuck

2/ CVS

I exported my contacts in Thunderbird under a CVS file. I then tried to import the file within Contacts but cannot do the mapping:

- all column headings are lumped together, with plenty of ","
- all accentuated caracters are replaced by squares

Also, with the LDIF method, 50 contacts out of 300 were imported. In these imported contacts, all accentuated caracters were replaced by symbols. I opened the CVS file in Microsoft Excel: everything is fine.

Windows Contacts Replaced By Outlook Contacts

May 7, 2008

I installed Outlook 2003 on my computer which has Vista Ultimate so I could use a Dell Axim. Now when I go to fax a document using Windows Fax and Scan and try to select a contact, Outlook Contacts is displayed instead of Windows Contacts. It won't let me choose to use Windows Contacts either. I tried using Default Programs to associate Windows Contacts with it's defaults but that didn't work.

Cannot Add Any Contacts To Windows Contacts

Jan 22, 2008

I have a problem with the Vista program Windows Contacts in conjunction with using email programs. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I like to use Outlook 2000 as my email program. I have the same problem if I use Windows Mail as my email program. I can use Outlook to send and receive email, but I cannot add any contacts to Windows Contacts. Also when creating a new email, if I click on the To… button to get to Windows Contacts, I get the error message “The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If this problem persists, restart Outlook.”, which of course does not help.

I am not sure, but I think I created the problem by importing Outlooks 2000 contacts from my old PC in an improper format into Outlook 2000 on my new Vista PC (which is where the problem is).

I have Vista Ultimate 64 installed. I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. During one of my first installs of vista, I was able to get in to games of codwaw, but then it would crash after about 5 secs.......

Contacts

Mar 23, 2008

In windows outlook you could arrange your contacts so that a folder (family,
local friends, Veterans) etc. could be together and when you addressed the
email ...you could just select from one of your folders and address the mail.
NOW the folders don't show up and I have to select the addressee's from the
400 names in my contacts list.
to make groups for all of them...cause sometimes an email is only to a few
people in a folder.

Not All Contacts Come Up Automatically

Mar 3, 2009

I've imported my contacts file into Windows Mail but something funny is happening. When I am creating a message and am typing the first few letters of a contact's name, some names come up automatically just as they did in the Outlook but not all of them, although I those names are there on the contacts list. I can't figure out why. In order to add these names I have to go to Tools, Select Recipient and add their names to the TO field. Is there a way I can get Windows Mail to insert all contacts names automatically?

Contacts Sorting?

Mar 26, 2008

My cmigrated contacts are a mess...When I click on "contacts" the list is sorted by first name. Next, I attempted to sort by 'last name' - the field for 'last name' is blank for most contacts DESPITE there being a first and last name on their contact card. Outlook Express was simple, intuitive and easy to customize. Windows Mail is cumbersome, slow and totally counter-intuitive as well as complicate as hell to customize.

1) How do I get the contacts list to reflect what is ACTUALLY on the contact cards: ie: First and last names

2) Can I switch back to Outlook Express with Vista?

Desktop Will Not Load

Oct 10, 2009

Problems started back in the middle of Sept (1 1/2 months ago). I logged several hrs, over 3 days, over the phone w/ Microsoft Tech support. Unfortunately, were unable to pin point the problem. They said it was probably a conbination of spyware and viruses. Here are some of the issues acurring:

I have 2 accts. Mine, (which has administrator privlages), and a Guest acct. Every time I log in to my administrator account, my desktop does NOT load. A TEMP user account is created. With all new desktop settings, etc. I receive an error message saying that my user profile was/did not load correctly. A Temporary user account has been created. Any changes tothis acct will not be saved. Many of my programs are screwed up. ie; Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word. My Microsoft Word created each time, as if for the first time. But will not load 100%. The only way I am able to access my files, (Docs, music, photos, etc.), is by going to start, go into Computer, click C:/ drive, click on users, click on emilee. And there are all my folders file files.

CPU Spinning Up To 100% Load, Why

May 26, 2009

it seems as though my CPU enjoys spinning up to 100% load. I'm not entirely sure why. It might be because I have an old CPU and motherboard (Athlon 64 3700+, which is, of course, single core and an Asus A8N-32 SLI Deluxe) but it never happened with XP Pro (unless I was doing something super intensive).

So, here's the deal: it sounds like something is spinning up but it's not my hard drives. Could it be the chip fan? It happens when I'm playing video games and, more recently, when I've been loading something even moderately graphics intense on the internets (I use Firefox 3.0.10, which has been crashing a bit lately, but that's not the issue here, hehe). Could it be the graphics card? Though I don't see why that would put a huge load on my CPU. (The card is an nVidia 8800 GT.)

There doesn't seem to be anyone one process that is causing this; the processes with the massive load change while whatever it is is spinning and the CPU is at 100% load.

CPU Load About 50%, Pc Idle

Mar 23, 2008

I installed Vista recently and now, when I've got all updates and I've installed few programs into Windows like Visual Studio, Mobile Device Center, some SDKs etc, every time the system is idle the CPU load is 50%, not exactly, but about 50%.

So I've tried to determine which process makes this CPU load. After Alt Ctrl Delete and Task Manager I haven't got to know anything. I've installed Process Explorer from Sysinternals. He told me process "System" makes this high load. I've tried to "kill" process "System". Yes, load felt down. But this isn't solution because after reboot it's the same.
