Forgot Username And Password?
Jun 11, 2008My technical help reset my username and password for Windows Mail. Today it asked me to confirm them, which I didn't know, and he doesn't remember. How do I reset so I can send out emails? So far I've been able to receive but not send in absence of offering the proper security info.

Jun 23, 2009My former friends changed my password to log into vista and then forgot what it is! what is that, well anyways now i'm really out of luck because I cant get into my computer. I have the ultimate 64bit vista, on my old computer which was vista home premium I was able to hit one of the Fkeys before windows started and set the date back to when it had factory settings. Is there anyway I can do this with mine I do not have any of the disks to reload windows.

Mar 23, 2008I got my Acer Extenza 4620Z Laptop in December and it has Vista installed, and until today, the internet has always worked fine. Earlier today I was turning my computer on and when everything loaded up I connected to my home wireless network (Belkin router) but the computer couldn't connect to any programs that use the internet (AIM, Firefox, IE). My desktop is older and has XP, which is working like normal, all things internet work normally so I know its not the router or the ISP. When I contacted Acer about the situation, the IT told me to perform a system restore to a few days ago (3/9/08), which I did. That worked for a few hours and then it happened again, "Server Not Found" and nothing that uses internet would work. The I tried to System Restore it again to earlier (2/28/08) and it worked again, but also for only a few hours. Now my laptop just automatically installed all the Windows updates from 3/9-3/12 and the internet doesnt work again. How can I fix this problem? I am convinced that it has something to do with the Windows Updates because it only happens when one of the newer updates is installed.

Mar 20, 2010I have a Dell Inspiron 1545. My brother's friend was messing around with it and somehow put a password on it and I think it's stored on the eeprom chip since I can't get it to boot to the bios, safe mode, or anything at all. I have tried different generic passwords such as Admin but nothing's working. I see the Dell spash screen when it boots but then goes to a gray screen that says this computer is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password. After you try 3xs it shuts down. He says he doesn't know how he did it or what the password is.
I have a friend that has a recovery cd since he has the same laptop, but it won't even boot off of that. I've also tried taking out the CMOS battery for about an hour and it is still wanting the password which makes me believe that the passwords stored on the eeprom chip. Is there anyway to bypass this and fix my computer? I have tried contacting Dell, but get nowhere. They don't understand it will not reformat otherwise I would.

Mar 15, 2010I am trying to reset the bios password on an acer extensa 5220 but having no luck. I have removed the cmos battery and put it back after 30 minutes.. still getting the password thingy.. ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO BOOT FROM CD SO THAT I CAN REDO THE WINDOWS.. i have the hard drive all formated so cannot do much more.

Apr 16, 2010I am having a problem that started about 1 week ago with my password protection.I have absolutely no idea what I have done to cause the problem and have tried Googleing, but cannot find a solution.When I lift my lid on my laptop (whether it is plugged in or not)I have settings coordinated in a way so that I am prompted for my password for security reasons (obviously).I have the lid settings, set to 'sleep'(and have also tried 'hibernate' as well).All of a sudden the only time I am prompted to enter my password is on Startup. Checked all settings; tried hibernate (plugged in and unplugged) same as sleep and nothing worked.
Tried changing my password and also turning it off and on and still it is not working! I am the only one who uses my computer, therefore I am the Administrator. The concern is, anyone in the workplace can open my laptop lid and have full access to my laptop, as well as the sticky beaks at home. I am not familiar with drivers etc nor do I know how to figure out what versions of particular programs I am running, but if given steps can easily figure it out.

She is in another state so it's very difficult to do over the phone since basically it's like being blindfolded. Sep 28, 2007Got myself the Acer 5920 with the intel dual core processors. Every site says its 64 bit but still they installed the 32 version. For example, 3D Studio Max has 2 versions; 32 and 64 bit. The installer recognizes the 32 bit vista so it WONT install the 64 bit, but it does install the 32 bit version. Loading up the 32 bit version: it doesnt, error. Wrong processor.
So now I want to install the 64 bit vista. I got a dvd with it but whenever I run setup.exe or the autorun, it gives an error saying wrong os or summit (can look the exact error up when I'm home again) The question I already thin I know the awnser on: My pc can run vista 64 bit, right? Anyone else has issue's with 32/64 bit versions of software not running?
Or a solution how to install that 64 bit version? Booting didnt work, it doesnt see it as a bootable disc (I pressed F12, and when the pc boots it first checks the cd for a bootable disc) Im getting a new vista 64 dvd btw since the version I got was from a friend if ye kno wha I mean :P (wanted to test it before buying it, honnestly).....

May 19, 2010I know that Acer displays the Realtek HD Audio Manager as ACER's. I have no problems with the name being different. The problem is, after 4 successive times of uninstalling the driver and installing the new one, the HD Audio Manager does not update. Its stuck at one version. Do i update the HD Audio Manager? My dumb guess is that Acer is not updating the HD Audio Manager as it'll be changed to Realtek.. I have tried downloading and installing the Driver from Acer's website but its still the same......

It has all available updates but when I go to the Windows Update site it does not show Vista SP1 , just says there are no new updates available.
I am about to go buy XP Pro and get rid of this dreadful OS, I was only keeping Vista until I could see if SP1 made a difference in the way it runs, but if I can't even access SP1 then there's no point keeping it.

I hope no one minds me posting this question here but I am at a loss to solve this issue and hope someone here can help. My customer is locked out of her Acer Aspire 3680. She hasn`t used it for a few months and has forgotten the password. I have searched the net for possible solutions and tried everything I came across that appeared to make sense but other than sending the laptop to Acer for them to unlock it at approx ??100 plus postage and VAT
I have no idea.
