IE7 & Business SP1 (x32) Installation Error

Jul 4, 2008

I installed IE 8 beta 1 and decided to remove it per MS' instructions. The system reverted to IE7 but now when I launch IE, it crashes with a DEP error. I followed MS' help instructions and added IE7 to the DEP exclusion list. However, IE7 still crashes with the same error. I wanted to reinstall IE7 but I could not find it on MS' web site. - Is IE 7 for Vista available as a separate download?

- Any other suggestions with regards to the DEP error? Note: I have FF3 and Opera 9.5 on my system. I also use AVANT as a front end to IE. The interesting factor is that AVANT works just fine... which I see as odd being that it must have IE to work with.

Another Sp1 Installation Error Code 80070002

Jun 24, 2008

I had sp1 installed, installed a new video card(Gigabyte 8800GT nforce edition if that helps), had to reinstall the OS before the system would recognize the card. After reboot, I ran update and got a bunch of updates. A few days later, update listed sp1 under automatic updates. i ran the update and got this error:

Code 80070002

I've gotten this error before on another machine and it was pretty easily fixed by deleting a few folders(as per the instructions in the Help guide). This time, it isn't working. I've tried the steps listed at least a Dozen times, I've downloaded the stand-alone update, combined the error fix with a restart, and I always get the same error. Now, my computer is constantly telling me to install the update, but it won't let me. I really don't want to have to reinstall again.

Installation / Program Trouble Error 1935

Nov 11, 2009

I've been searching the net for a few days on how to fix this problem, so far useing programs like RegCure doesn't work at all, neither do most of the others.. So I decided to make an account and ask for help. When I try to install Atlas V14 (A program for translations) it comes up with Error 1935 and does a roleback, so i decided to try installing it on my laptop then copied files to PC and it comes up with a side-by-side error.. Im not too good with all the thinking stuff that goes with fixing comps. So if anyone knows how to fix the 1935 error or bypass the side-by-side thing that would help alot.

Unexpected Error: Restart Computer And Installation Of Windows

Apr 26, 2009

I have a Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop that this past week decided to do a Windows update and afterwards was running at 100% cpu and really slow. After everything I did and everything I knew to do I decided to clean the HD and re-install the OS. I partitioned the HD and tried to install Vista. It got all the way thru to the point it was "suppose" to reboot and ask for my name and comp info and just shut down. When I turned it back on a window popped up saying something to the effect of "windows restared unexpectedly or had an unexpected error please select ok to restart your computer and installation of Windows" so then I have to re-install all over again and it failed again and again. I ran the pre-boot system assessment and found out my HD crashed. I installed a new HD and ran the pre-boot assessment again and everything checks out but I'm still getting the box to pop up cause it keeps turning itself off at the same point as I mentioned above. I can't/ don't know how to get into DOS so I can check the motherboard but I'm getting ready to throw this thing up against the wall.

SP1 Instal Fails Everytime Error "Installation Was Not Successful"

May 3, 2008

I have tried installing Windows Vista SP1 roughly 8-10 times now, with no luck any time. It always gets to 98% complete on the first stage, then sits there for awhile before reverting, rebooting, and trying again. First time I got error code 0x800F0826, and Microsoft directs me here: Error message when you try to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1: "Installation was not successful" or "An internal error occurred while installing the service pack". None of the resolutions work. Then I got this message a few times 0x800705B4. Which I have read is a "Timed out" error. Its always at 98% on stage 1 of 3 that it hangs up before it fails and reverts................

SP1 Installation

May 3, 2008

My PC came with Vista Home Premium 32bit. Since SP1 was released, I've tried several times to install it both through Windows Update and manually but it always fails.I looked at the information in the nowledgebase article about the error message I was getting and it suggested running a system scan utility through the command line interface which I did. The utility said that it fixed some files but I had corrupted files that it was not able to repair.I went out and bought an upgrade version of Vista Home Premium that contained SP1 thinking I could just upgrade it as a workaround. No dice, the upgrade option is disabled unless you already have SP1 installed. It will only let me do a clean install. This brings me to my first question. If I do the clean install, it's going to format my HD right? I'll have to reinstall all my software? My second question is, does anybody know how I can get SP1 to install on my current installation? Any way to find and repair those supposedly corrupt files?

I've tried other DVDs and have burned a couple and they all work fine. For whatever reason, the problem is with the Vista DVD.
