Whenever I try to save a message to my hard drive a second time, i.e. overwriting the previous document, I get an error message saying that it is unable to save. I used to be able to do this with Outlook Express. Is there a way to fix this? Windows Live Mail has the same problem.

Acrobat is 8.1 Standard
This just started after reinstalling Vista Premiunm 32. I want to make a change in the registry to allow a DVD favorites folder in my media center. I can make the necessary change but the change will not save. I have a HP media center PC running Vista Premium 32. I have made this change before with out any problems.

on my computer, not an HTML file on the internet (web page.) When I open an existing HTML file with Notepad, then attempt to "Save" it, an alert message box appears which says: "Cannot create the C:UsersMeDesktopfolder namefilename.html file.
Make sure the path and filename are correct." I can "Save As..." a different file name or different file type, but cannot "Save" in the normal manner. This problem only affects saving an HTML file. There is no problem with other file types. I'm not certain of the time sequence, but I think I downloaded an update to
QuickTime since the last time there wasn't a problem.
I am experiencing problems opening a word attachment, when i click on the attachment to open it nothing happens, I have tried to save it and then open it and won't let me save it. I get the error message, Command failed to execute. I have plenty of memory free and am baffled as to what it could be.

(1) A reset of IE did not fix the problem.
(2) A system restore to the day before installing QuickTime did fix the problem. This doesn't prove that QuickTime is at fault, of course, but I still have my suspicions. I will probably reload QuickTime shortly, and if the problem returns, I'll post it.
Note: It appears that the system restore reversed the IE reset, so for anyone (like me) who might be nervous about doing the reset, the restore is a safety backup.
I am using a Acer Aspire laptop and using aol webmail for my email. I am not able to open or save attachments from my email. a window will open up and ask to save or open, but when I click open it will save as if it is going to open the attachment but never shows the attachment. when I "save as" an attachment it supposedly sends it to my computer, but I can never find the file. If I go to recent downloads and select the file that I downloaded it says it is missing the shortcut. I am up to date with Adobe Reader for pdf files.

I think my problem is exactly the same as "anhlyss" had in the posts in January. I am hoping there is an easier fix than restoring factory setting. As suggested in other threads, I have ensured that I have unchecked the "do not allow attachments to be opened" box in options.
If I click on the attachment to open it, the little hourglass pointer comes up, and then goes back to the arrow, but nothing else happens. If I try to save the attachment, I get this message: "There was an error saving one or more of your attachments, please check your free disk space and try again"

It was Windows service pack1 it didn't complete there was an error message 700706BE. I restarted my computer and I have not been able to get into Windows at all. My mail is a mess - old mesages are being re-sent, I occasionally get a message and occasionally can send one. Sporadic at best. My ISP does not provide support outside their own web page mail service.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Office Home & Student on a new machine with Vista and found that I can no longer copy an Excel chart and past it in the message space in Mail. I could do this with no problem using Office 2002 - XP and Vista. Is the problem with Vista or with Office 2007? I have already changed the registry to allow direct e-mail from Word and Excel to Mail (by-passing the requirement to have Outlook), but this doesn't seem to be related to that silly feature.

I've checked with the manufacturers knowledge base and I got to a part where you have to change something in the registry editor..I tried to do this but the message I always get is "Unable to save permission changes on USB. How do I save my configuration information (including WEP) so that my network is connected every time I boot up? Ideally this would automatically select my SSID from the others in my neighborhood and the WEP would already be entered. My second choice would be to select the SSID and the 10-character WEP would laready be entered.

It can be saved when HTML Only is selected, but when the file is opened it only results in opening the browser to whatever state it is currently in. It can also be saved as Text File but when that is opened, the file only reads: "Windows live hotmail".

Solway's says a menu option will be added to save layout but it is not there and desktop shock was almost as useless and my anti virus said it was a keylogger. I need this because everytime I install new vid card drivers it scrambles my icon and I have to put all of them back which takes a few minutes but if I can find a utility to do this it would be nice.
