May 1, 2008Since a month when I send a messege, the check of ortography is interrupted and is not performed as can be done in windows XP or as I did before in windows vista home premium.

Firefox Connection Interrupted
Jan 1, 2009I've been having trouble connecting to only one website the past few weeks on IE and firefox. This is the message I get on Firefox ...."Connection Interrupted. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." Its the same on IE. My friends are having no problem with the site and I had no issues until a few weeks ago. Nothing changed with my computer. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

Oct 22, 2009After years of slogging along with an age old laptop (Windows XP and MS Office xp Professional) I bought two new computers running Vista Home Premium and one (Asus netbook) running XP. Result: netbook can use the same Outlook settings as previously, but the other two, using the same XP settings will let me send Emails (to myself and elsewhere) but the Vista machines absolutely refuse to send mails to anywhere. Any one had similar experiences? The error message was: Task 'mail.navigate.de - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Mar 26, 2008Vista started giving a blue screen a couple of days ago. Mentioned something about a bad device, but no new devices have been added. Went through the typical steps, tried to boot in safe mode and got the following errors:
AtBroker.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Click OK.
Explorer.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Blue Screen
Then booted to my install dvd, tried to fix errors. Came back with a failed check at the file system integrity check. Ran the check a second time and no errors are found. Can't boot in safe mode, and when i try to repair errors I get no errors found.

Dec 5, 2008My sister bring me a lap top Acer Extensa 4420, the problem is that every time you boot, Vista checks the C: drive looking for problems and the reset, after the reset Vista checks again the disk and reset again, doing this in a infinite way...
Before the chkdisk program start you have the option to skip it, if you do so you get a screen saying "Vista is Configuring the update 3/3" and then restart again...
The lap top have a rescue partition, with an auto-fix option, but it didin't worked, it was on running it all the night

Apr 23, 2008When using the Spell Check, I inadvertantly clicked on the "Add" button, which put a word I misspelled into my Spell Check list. I would like to remove this unwanted word, but I cannot figure out to get rid of it, since there isn't a "Remove" button in the Spell Check window. Does anyone know if this word can be taken out of Spell Check?

Jan 6, 2009I 'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this,but,I'm beside myself. I'm not very experienced on computers,but I can't get the disc check to run. I've tried to go to computer,properties,then tools the the check box, then to schedule a check upon restart,but the UAC box for permission never comes up,nor does it start when I restart the computer,what in the world it going on here it driving me nuts!! In virtually every other Microsoft product we have both English (American) and English (True or UK as normally quoted). May 15, 2010About 6 months ago I ran a Check Disk of my C Drive (using the Vista Error Checking tool), and checked both boxes before starting (Auto fix file system errors and Scan for/attempt recovery of bad sectors).
It ran thru the 1st 5 of the 6 checks without finding an error.
On the 6th and final check it runs, it hung (or the 4th of the 5 checks it runs - can't remember if it's 5 or 6 it runs). . I believe it began the check, but stopped and didn't move any further. A few hours later it still hadn't moved, so I did a hard shutdown....
Burning Was Completed O.o But When Check The Cd/dvd There's Nothing On There
May 21, 2009i tried burning music, selected the correct format, then it proceeds to windows media player. it doesn't have any problems until it finalizes the cd or dvd although a message appears that burning was completed O.o when i check the cd/dvd there's nothing on there! i have no problems playing music or movies on

Jan 29, 2009My windows update is unable to check for updates, an whenever I manually check for updates, Install now shows up, once the installation process begins, a couple of minutes go by and windows returns to checking for updates, and I am right back to Check for updates for your computer. I've checked the history, and so far KB948610 has failed 4 times, and KB953733 once in the past (windows apparently never tried again).

I have gone to WORD OPTIONS; PROOFING and checked all the appropriate boxes and it still won't check my spellings. 1) On xp I could always use Windows Key + F to find such files as Charmap.exe, or files supporting my sound card - that sort of thing. This doesn't apply in Vista. Is there an equivalent?
2) How common is it that a healthy computer with Vista installed will succumb to application malfunctions that can be rectified by Check Disk? My laptop was new 2 weeks ago and apparently the hardware is in good shape, but I've had to do a couple of check disks.

May 1, 2010i have a gateway notebook with vista x64 bit and every time i try to start it up it used to run the disk check and say it would take more than an hour so i left it over night and no progress and it would let me start the computer up normally because it would still scan it no matter what and wouldnt let me start up in safe mode either and now when i start up it runs this disk check in a black screen and never finishes it gets to the 2nd disk out of 3 and then continues again dosent leave me any other choice of booting up (no safe mode or regular) after this check that is never completed it takes me to the log on screen but right before it says completing update 3 out of 3 and it says 0% but never goes any further and then shuts off

Mar 23, 2008I've got a multiboot system involving, Windows 98, Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. For some reason, 2000, Vista and XP want to check the FAT32 partition on which 98 is installed, even though 98 doesn't feel the need to do this. Is it safe to allow this? If not, how do I stop them from trying to do the check (without having to hit a key each time they boot)? I tried doing scandisk under 98 to clear whatever ckeck disk flag has been set but they still want to check.
