As of a week ago I can not receive my email in windows. My ISP is O2. I get an error message and a pop up asking for my usernamen and password when I enter them it does not solve the problem but pops up again. I have checked all the information on the account. What I cant understand is that it has always worked perfectly until now.
I get this message when I try to send messages or receive. The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Shannon', Server: 'shaw.ca', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Have bought a new laptop and changed to windows mail (Vista HP), have set up email using mhy existing email address. I can send emails ok but cannot receive. I get no error message and have copied server settings etc from previous laptop (XP H.E.).

I get an error message: "Subject 'testing', Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC15" I have tried resetting my account information 3 times and nothing works. My provider says everything is OK with the account settings and the server. They said it is a software problem. I went to the MicroSoft Download site and none of the downloads apply to my system.

I have Norton 360 and have disabled, then uninstalled and reinstalled, and tried other changes. Can anyone help me figure this out?
I have 4 computers, all have Windows XP. I recently replaced the 1st which was my Laptop with a Dell XPS that runs Vista. Since then my email accounts started having problems. I can only receive email on one account. but was able to receive all email accounts one the main Desktop which is wired to the router. Now I have replaced this desktop with a new one it also runs Vista, and now the same thing has happened; I only receive email from one account. I tried deleting all accounts and set them all up again same problem. I have MS Office 2003 which has office outlook and it to does the same thing. I tried deleting accounts on both trying to single out the possibility of conflict, but still no luck.

I set up a new Windows Live email, and I can send email, but I cannot receive emails. I get a server error when I hit the send/receive button. However, if I login to hotmail, I can see my incoming messages. Why can't I see them in Windows Mail? I have the incoming email server set at pop3.live.com.
At times when I get an error message and can't receive e-mails I go to tools/internet/accts/servers and find that my email user name and password are gone-(blank space). I have to re-input the date and sometimes turn the modem on and off. Has anyone experienced the issue where their info has "disappeared" as I detailed?
Here is the message I'm receiving and we've checked the passwords, and clicked off the authentication button. etc.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. Not a huge problem as I can at least send and receive emails manually but can anyone suggest why my Windows Mail account no longer checks for new mail automatically, even though it's still set up to do so every minute? If I click on send/receive it comes up with an error message but no error code. And if I just click on receive email any messages come through straight away. I have no problem sending email or receiving it by clicking on "receive mail" every so often, but I've spent ages trying to get back to how it used to be and can't. I hate giving in! The problem occurred after downloading a trial version of Norton and even though I uninstalled that (later trying AVG and now McAfee) the problem has persisted for months now.
My computer crashed and had IT person set it up for me again. He is not too familiar with Vista. I now have AVG anti-virus program and some responses I have read said it could be problem with anti-virus - so does Windows mail have a problem with AVG? My error response I receive is: Subject 'help', Account: 'Windows Mail', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D
Under PROPERTIES: Servers neither box is checked Incoming or Outgoing for authentication. Under ADVANCED: Outgoing mail port number is 25 and Incoming Mail at 995 both boxes are checked for requiring a secure connection.
I have Windows Mail on Vista which was working fine for 7 months. Today it will not send or receive any email. There are no error messages, just outbound email sits in the outbox going nowhere and nothing is incoming despite having test emails sent. I also cannot read the sent items folder - it says Folder could not be displayed Windows mail could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space low memory. I know this is not the case. I do have several photographs on some of the emails outgoing lately.
My computer says I have'nt recieved an email since 7/21/09 but if i log in on a different cpu it works. and i get this message when i try to send an email: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Last night I tried to send a video (9.4mg), and it's still trying to send it. I can't send or receive email right now. How can I cancel the message I tried to send?
This just started today and from what I read it has just recently started with other people. Does anyone know why this just started happening and how to fix it?
i cannot receive or send emails. The error message i am getting is below. The server that you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified. The certificates CN name does not match the passed value. My incoming mail is from a domain name i have set up. My outgoing mail is Bt internet.
My new computer Windows Vista and Windows Mail but everytime I try to send or receive I get the following message. The host 'POP3' could not be found.
