When I go to send an email, and I type in a partial name, (say just a letter C) I see a bunch of names from my address book that start with C, but also names that are not in my address book. Why is this how do I stop this.....
I have moved and changed email services. All my efforts to change the default servers for window mail to my new email address have failed. I keep getting an authentication error message referring to my old email adress and saying it does not recognize it, which of course it will not as I no longer use that email address or server. I have deleted the old account and added the new one in windows mail but that has not helped. I still cannot send emails through widows mail.
Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.

Trouble getting new email address (hotmail.com) recognized as default email. Tried all methods posted on forums: tools option and control panel. Control panel default settings will not allow option to disable Windows Mail. (grayed out). Register Hotmail software says only Vista but I am using Vista. After setting up my email account with windows mail using my talk talk email address, for some reason when I'm posting messages to your help forum, it is showing my MSN email address. What is happening here? I've checked all the info via Tools, Accounts, and it only shows my talktalk email??
I have several e-mail accounts. When I forward an email, it uses the wrong email address in the "From" toolbar line, not the address to which the email was addressed. This is something new in the last couple of days, as before it always used the address to whom the email was addressed.
To all you Vista touting jerks who reject customer complaints against Vista, one of your own big wigs posted an acknowledgement of the problems many faced with Vista on the Microsoft.com site! He acknowledged that many had major inabilities getting Vista running acceptably on many computers. These problems are solved in Windows 7! Many of us customers have fought a loosing battle to get Vista running properly and have been forced to upgrade to WXP, a MUCH superior OS. Why do you hate your customers so much that you insult them with bogus claims of running trouble free when so many customers have had enormous problems running programs? Why do you lie and say Vista can run its own packaged programs when many times Vista can't recognize its own programs as legitimate Windows programs?

After sending an e-mail to a large group (130 addresses in total divided on 6 emails) my emails seem to be blocked. I can't send any more emails to anyone, regardless of the size or number of reciptients.

i have always used outlook express, since i purchased windows vista, outlook express is updated to windows live worst thing ever, i used to be able to just type the first letter of the email address or name to whom i was mailing, now if i am forwarding an email to several people i now have to type every address individually, in full, is this the way that windows live is?? is it a glitch?? can i go back to the old outlook express, or should i just get a yahoo account and have no problems what so ever??

i have imported my contacts into windows mail ok. windows mail will not autofill email address's. on outlook express, yahoo, aol, when you start typing the email address you get a drop down menu with a selection of address's. i have ticked the automatically fill email address's in the options. all my contacts are in windows mail, i can see them if i open contacts. someone please help. more info:- it appears that if I have sent an email, by typing in the full address, it remembers that address and the autofill works ok for the contacts that i have "manually" sent an email. i have over 200 contacts.
why do I have to switch. Is this not my domain and belongs to me. I deont want to switch, thewre is no way to contact aqll who reach me at the e-mail. I do not keep them in my address book. I am using Windows mail and i would like to put myself in CC or BCC for the every email sent. please do kindly advise how is that possible. putting yourself in every email is very difficult so how is it possible that when i compose any email or reply to any email the CC or BCC field automatically keeps my email address in it.
My wife changed her email address. I dutifully went into contacts and made the change. The old address was completely deleted and "Contacts" now show ONLY her new address. However, when I open "Send Mail" and type her name, the old address continually pops up. Mail seems to have an odd set of rules as to which email address it will use, unfortunately, I have no idea what these rules are.
I have a typo in one of the email addresses I created. I corrected it using the edit feature, but the same typo appears when I create a new email message. Even though I have since deleted the email address I created, it will still appear when I try to send using the correct email address. I can't find that email address in my Contacts list to delete. New to Vista windows mail. Really hate some of the changes, especially the email address showing on address line--but will make do. Can't find a solution to: We have the option for auto complete when starting the email address, and mine is checked, but the function doesn't work. Anyone have a clue?
In previous versions of Windows with OE when I would begin to type the recipients address in the box it would auto-complete (or show choices if there were multiple matches at that point). Windows Mail for some reason is only doing this on a handful of my contacts and the rest I must click 'Recipients' and then select them from the huge list. Any one know of a fix for the auto-complete issue?
I have Vista and I find out Hotmail is not longer supported. That is just great! I have done the stuff to still use my hotmail account (I think). However, how do I set up this Windows Live mail account?? When I put in my email address as xxxxx@hotmail.com I get the error message that Hotmail is no longer supported. So what what is my email address extension now? I cannot send pictures out of Photoshop and other problems now that Hotmail is not supported.
